That custom housing is a similiar design to what I was hoping for the PS5 and then the slimmer model. The PS5 design used is just ugly, has a flimsy horizontal positioning, having all black is an extra cost, the price went up after release, and the PRO model doesn't appear to make enough difference for the difference in cost.
Still rocking with my PS4 Pro which is a noticeable upgrade over the regular PS4, is a pretty all black rectangle, can do local saves, and I can screenshot anything on the internet to quickly use as a theme.
I'm on PS4, can make local backup saves, and have not played online since 2024 and will not until whenver GTA6 is finally released and I might then purchase a PS5.
The deal is I want Plus Extra but there is a paywall of needing to also pay for Essential which I do not need, including the 'free" games I rarely play.
MS and then Sony may drop the fee for online play, but both will not want to lose such easy money. Both will likely then raise prices elsewhere to maintain that easy income. Cloud backup saving should not carry a fee when local backup saving was removed.
@Cerny This disc key as opposed to an all digital copy does allow for selling, sharing, and gifting. The big downside is if someone has slow internet where 75GB could take 20 - 40 or more hours to download.
Still doing well with my PS4 Pro. If the slim PS5 had been an all black rectangle design, a ui similar to the PS4, and had a web browser I would have purchased one as soon as possible.
I still have a small backlog, the PS6 is coming, and there is the option of PC with no fees to play online. So I may just skip the PS5 gen.
There is performance then there is everything else. If the performance is poor then the everything else does not matter.
On PS5 hardware a Borderlands game at release should perform like a dream at 60fps, and with an fov slider. Exit and then reenter the game to fix the performance? Has Gearbox forgotten how to make a video game?
An fov slider was added to the first 3 Borderlands games when ported to PS4. Borderlands 3 was released with an fov slider. Wondelands added an fov slider after release. BL4 releasing without an fov slider is puzzling.
As for performance, I have played all previous Borderlands games on my PS4 and have not noticed any change in performance when using a wider than default fov. I like an fov of 90 as 70 or 75 feels narrow and removes the feeling of peripheral vision.
My premium sub ends this month. Right now I'm not too motivated to extend the sub. I will not need online play until GTA6 releases.
The big issue I have is that I had to pay for the online play this past year even though I only wanted the extra and the premium. So even if I still want extra now I see little reason to pay for the online until GTA6 online becomes available and there is a reason to pay for online play.
Let me translate this. Sony has lots of 825GB allready in stock and already paid for, and what they don't have is now probably dirt cheap. So we get that instead of the new larger ITB. Then too that drop will hopefully prompt more purchasing additional storage.
Comparing to PS2, 3, and 4 gens a regular PS5 with disc drive and 1TB drive should now be $400, and the Pro with drive and 1TB $500. Then in 2027 a 2TB slimmer slim with 2 TB for $300. My PS2 slim was $125 new as compared to the original price of $300 for a PS2.
Yes there has been inflation and skrinkflation, but unfortunately hourly pay and salaries have not kept up with rising prices.

@darylb24
GTA6 will undoubtedly be playable at release on a PS5. However it will also then be playable on a PS6. Fall of 2027 or Fall of 2028 could be when the PS6 releases.
GTA5 released 2 months prior to the PS4 release in 2013. One year later in 2014 GTA5 was released on PS4. The longer GTA6 is delayed the more the possibility of it being released close to or when the PS6 is released.
News from the future: April 2026 R☆ announces GTA6 release date will be moved to Fall of 2027.
What else may be released Fall of 2027 or soon there after?
Nothing for me this month, maybe stream P to get a taste. A 2019 review of DayZ from play on a PS4 Pro received a 2/10 score because of extremely poor/ unplayable performance. Why then include it as s monthly essential game? Has it been fixed?
I have multiple replays of the first game + the dlc. The 'Beast' having similarities to the first game is great news. The trailer definitely gives me a Dying Light 1 vibe, like it could be a dlc of that first game. A month delay for polishing? No problem.
It's a secret? So it must be the addition of the option to have the PS4 UI, folders like the PS4,themes, saves to usb drives, and a proper way to use the web browser like the PS3 and PS4 have. Also an added shape shifting ability to optionally make the PS5 into a pretty matte black rectangle shaped console.
My memories of playing GTA4 on my PS3 are not good. Horrible graphics, Nlko running around acting like he may have brain damage, and land vehicle physics that made any high speed or chases no fun as the streets all seemed permantly ice covered.
The Ballad of Gay Tony had some inprovments in graphics, vehicle handling, protagonist, story, and features. A remasterd BOGT at 60fps is all I desire of the three GTA4 games.
Breaking news, and it is believed to be true by dozens of gamers. This news is that Sony claims to be still considering to talk about adding more PS3 games to Plus Premium. The desire is to add an astouding eleventeen game by as soon as the 3rd quarter of 2028.
4Pro from Plus Extra: GTA3 and Dying Light 2. On disc Handsome Jack.
With GTA3 I am first making a starter file, I just got the 99th hidden package, next up is Paramedic for infinite running. Fun so far, and looks and plays smooth in performance mode. However the brightness in game and my tv needs set to max.
Overall my only issues are the overdone constant gang attacks and fragile vehicle. Both are present in the original on PS2 but a disc with codes can disable gang attacks.
The more I play GTA3 the more I wish it would be an updated Liberty City Stories. Overall I find LCS more fun than GTA3 with its story, relayable side stuff, Tony over Claude, and it has motorcycles. Also a not cheat way to get a helicopter.
Dying Light 2, first play.
Borderlands Pre Sequel. Replay after a few years, this time with Aurelia, a vault hunter I had not previously played. So far half way through normal and I am enjoying her action skill,
What may the numbers be at the present if yearly subs could not have been stacked 2 or 3 years ago and at less cost than present prices?
Last fall I dropped down from Premium to Extra. Premium is just disappointing with the games offered, that sceen shots and video can not be captured, and games like Fallout 3 and New Vegas that do not include their dlc. Also with streaming there is the obnoxious being kicked from the game after a short time of inactivity.
Message to video game developers: If you are unable to make your games play at a smooth 60fps and with good graphics then please find another profession.
80 bucks at release is only an issue for those that salivate at the mention of OW2 and just got to have it now. Also for those that are ok with the usual amount of post release updates Bethesda games usually require.
OW was ok when I ignored the long load times. Overall it is not a game I desired to replay and purchase dlc. OW2? I can wait for a price drop and the patching.
It is good to see that 1st and 3rd person options are included at release. I prefer 1st person in narrow halls/corridors and small rooms. However in 1st person an fov slider and the camera pulled back to be able to look down and see our legs and feet are desirable.
@theheadofabroom,
In just writing "Lacking" at the beginning I view as without gun and melee play. While "Lacking" at the end would to me need "is" before lacking and thus would define the gun and melee action as done poorly. Also I read the entire review before reading the conclusion.
@LiamCroft, Your conclusion about gun and melee has that it lacks gun and melee, not that it lacks "good" gun and melee action.
Overall the game looks interesting and maybe the " clunky" combat can be patched. I'll wait for user evaluations, technical analyis on various platforms, and patches.
I have little knowledge of video game technology. So I can't say I understood most of the technology talked about in this video. Hopefully this new technology can help reduce game development time and improve npc ai.
There was no correct answer for me to chose from. I was not affected because all of my gameplay/console use was playing a game offline as I had planned to on my PS4.
@stefan771, How does my hunch make sense? GTA6 is a guaranteed fortune when released, its money in the bank. However when 6 releases GTA5's money printing will almost overnight decrease significantly.
GTA 5 been nearly pure profit for years, and the GTA5 money has been enough to probably pay most of GTA 6. Any planned delay would be then to milk the GTA5 cash cow for as long as possible while delaying the known instant fortune 6, new cash printer, will provide when released.
It's just my hunch, and yes whenever 6 is released I will begin a most probable hundreds of hours of my time playing and replaying it on and off line.
I use my console while sitting on my sofa or recliner. So a controller works for me. The dualshock also works well enough for when I use the PS4 web browser, same with The PS3.
I look at a fall 2025 release as already a one year delay. My gut tells me that the release was delayed more because 5 was still printing lots of money than being delayed for other reasons.
My hopes for BL4 is that the ui is improved. Easy to read text size and boldness along with not over a background that makes reading text a chore.
For me I prefer to keep skill trees simple and not overchoicey. That is how I found Wonderlands to be, too many choices. Also simple easy to use vending machines. Basically Borderlands 2 readable text size, simple skill trees, and plain simple vending machines is what I like.
There could be the base game for $70 and then online play at an added cost of $20-$30. However what I am most curious about is how will GTA+ be used. Will there be significant or major online features behind a paywall of GTA+. Enough features that could make GTA+ seem essential for online play. Maybe a monthly fee to play online that costs less than GTA+ but is included with GTA+.
All this price speculation for a game that may not be released until 2026. Seriously is 6 gonna be released while 5 is still printing money? Releasing 6 will certainly nearly end the money flow called GTA 5 almost overnight.
GTA 6 will probably be near all profit when released as GTA5 money most likely paid for both 5 and 6.
My hunch is that $70 usd will be the minimum for the base game. There will be at least 2 deluxe editions that will bring in more money. Then there could be a not so free online this time. That could be with putting more features/benefits behind a GTA+ paywall.
Hopefully GTA6 is awesome and provides hundreds of hours of play like GTA 5 has because GTA7 may not be until the 2040's - 2050's.
An RE parody/spoof comedy movie may be more interesting to watch than an RE movie attempting to be serious and dramatic. Something like "Airplane", "Scary Movie", and "Not Another Teen Movie"
The numbers 2 and 30? Obviously the next GTA6 trailer is the 30th day of the second month, February 30th.
Immediately after posting this I will start to organize a pity party for Roger Clark for how some gamers are making him all grumpy. You cruel gamers that made Roger Clark all grumpy should be ashamed of yourselves.
@Fishnpeas, Yes there are some concerns that was not present with the release of GTA5 backing in 2013. Then I was only concerned with how it looked and performed on the PS3. Now I'm concerned about the game itself. Will it still be GTA or will it be similiar to the recent failed Hollywood trends and not be GTA as we knew it and want GTA6 to be.
$100 GTA6? For me GTA5 was a bargain at $60 purchased at release in 2013. Hundreds of hours of replays and online play for two years. Online played like no added cost dlc and there was no additional cost for playing online. I never purchased a Shark card.
Now the cost to play online needs to be factored in. $50 and now $60 per year to play online is not significant when spread out between multiple games and if online play dominates overall game time. For those that online play may only be GTA6 then $60 per years played is added to that possible $100 purchase price. Now add possible online stuff that may be behind a real money paywall.
Will it all be worth the cost? If you play hundreds of hours and there is added on dlc like content added online at no additional costs like in GTA5 then I say probably maybe.
Updated/definitive versions of GTA Vice City and Liberty City Stories are long overdue for the PS4 and now also the PS5. Both games on PS2 have updated camera and character movement that play like San Andrease. Also I find Liberty City Stories superior to GTA 3 with the improved camera, motorcycles, characters, side activities, and story. Needs to be downloadable and purchasable along with streaming.
Seven years ago mid December 2017 I walked into my local Best Buy and picked up a PS4 Pro off a stack on the floor. My Xmas present to myself. The cost $350, it came with a disk drive, a web browser, it was a pretty matte black rectangle, and was bundled with a game. This PS5 gen just continues to disappoint.
I like the easy use a console provides, and that games can be optimized for for a specific os and hardware. However a small PC hooked to my big screen is often tempting for the more features a PC provides. Perhaps Sony could add more features a PC provides with the PS6.
8/15. It's nice to get questions about games that I have played. With Uncharted I have played 1, 2, and 3. The first 2 multiple times especially 2 as collecting stuff unlocked stuff, and some online play.
Fast forward to January 2030: Breaking news and it is absolutely insane. From reliable insiders the rumor is officially believed to be possibly true. True that Sony will as soon as late 2031 release an, at cost, app that will allow backwards compatability with the November 2028 released PS6.
The app will play PS!, PS2, and PS3 games and upgraded to at least 720p for PSI & 2, with a full 1080p for PS3 games. No halfway believable rumor has surfaced yet about a 60fps standard or at least being offered at reduced graphics definitions. Mark your calendar tor late 2031, it is rumored to be possibly insane.

Also I find Liberty City Stories superior to GTA 3 with the improved camera, motorcycles, characters, side activities, and story. Needs to be downloadable and purchasable along with streaming.

@StrickenBiged, That guy could be me when gleefully wielding a chainsaw in a Vice City rampage.
Re: British PS5, PS4 Survival Game Atomfall Could Be a Great Alternative for STALKER Fans
Fallout and Far Cry married and had Atomfall? Count me very interested.
Re: Unfortunately, PS5's Disc Drive Add-On Shortage Doesn't Seem to Be Getting Better
Re: Talking Point: Is PlayStation Right in Saying PC Isn't a 'Major Risk' to Console Business?
I like the easy use a console provides, and that games can be optimized for for a specific os and hardware. However a small PC hooked to my big screen is often tempting for the more features a PC provides. Perhaps Sony could add more features a PC provides with the PS6.
Re: How Well Do You Know Uncharted?
8/15. It's nice to get questions about games that I have played. With Uncharted I have played 1, 2, and 3. The first 2 multiple times especially 2 as collecting stuff unlocked stuff, and some online play.
Re: PS3 Games Could One Day Get Emulated on PS5

As Chico would say, "looking good."
