Re: Fallout 4 (PS5) - Timeless Gameplay Loop Stuck in an Outdated RPG

NoCode23

Fallout 4 like FO3 and NV are not games, but an experience. The story plays second to exploring, messing around, then sometimes reloading saves to undo stuff.

I love all 3 games and their dlc. Each has it's good and bad. In FO4 the settlement building and companions are all good for me. Building the settlements then populating, defense, businesses, and even dressing the inhabitants was many hours of enjoyment of experimenting.

Soon I will do a replay or at least a visit and see how my settlements are doing.

Re: Fallout 4 Next Gen Update Release Times: When Can You Play the New Version?

NoCode23

Hopefully some stuff will be fixed that has kept me from doing a replay of Fallout 4 on my PRO. That is: horrible frames in some downtown locations, poor frames in Far Harbor, raining inside some buildings, and sniper rifle sway and useless scope reticles.

The sniper rifle sways even with full upgrades, max gun skills, and arm braces on each arm, braces that are suppose to negate sway. The bug is that sway only temporarily goes completely away, only to return permanently with no way to remove the sway. Even with no sway the scope reticles are the worst in any game I have played for lining up distant shots.

Mods for the PS4 helps with some issues like removing haze and godrays to improve the colors, the always sunny weather removes the rain in buildings, improves the graphics, and ditches the general over abundance of rain. A scrapping mod allows more clearing of stuff in settlements. However no sniper sway or scope mods to improve sniper rifle use.

Oh well I will see. If not a replay I can still visit an old save file and see how the settlements I built-up are doing.

Re: Fallout 4 Sales Up 7,500% in Europe as Bethesda Series Dominates

NoCode23

@BAMozzy @carlos82
Fallout 3 and New Vegas are yes only streaming on PS4 and PS5. No download, no sreenshots/video, and worst of all, no dlc. Without dlc Fallout 3 is only half the game and doesn't not have the real ending. NV the same but to a lesser extent.

Picking up a reduced cost used or even a new Series S to play some back compatible games like Fallout 3 and New Vegas is something to consider. Those games can then be purchased along with dlc and played from an internal drive.

Re: Rumour: 2K Gearing Up for Mafia Announcement

NoCode23

@Ravix
Vegas was the location I hoped for with Mafia 3. The early years in the 1950's or Rat Pack- Ocean's 11 era. New Orleans 1969 Dixie Mafia in Mafia 3 was an interesting time and location. The city did seem more alive in that game, the map was large, and vehicle and weapons/ammo delivery was nice additions from previous games in the series. However I would like to see a return of a safe house with stored customizable vehicles like in Mafia 2.

Re: Rumour: 2K Gearing Up for Mafia Announcement

NoCode23

I want Mafia 4, an all new game. The remake of the original was much needed and was a good remake. Mafia 2 and 3 are fine as they are now. Maybe a remaster for 2 with an expanded map and new features, but only after an all new game.

Mafia 4 as a prequel could be interesting as it could include the 1920's prohibition roaring 20's. Hopefully a new game would have a city with more life and side stuff to do than previous games. Don't need much, just some stuff like being able to take taxi rides, interacting with some npc's, more choices of clothing and hair styles, and police that don't have idiot AI.

Re: Fallout Beginner's Guide: Best Game to Start With

NoCode23

My advise is play Fallout 3, then New Vegas, and then Fallout 4. However after hundreds of hours of play of those games I do not believe anything is lost in any order of play. The older top down games I have absolutely no desire as I do not like the top down style, but many gamers like those early Fallout games.

Fallout 76? I'll pass on that, but it can be easily sampled by streaming with Plus Premium.

Also with Premium Fallout 3 and NV can be streamed but no download. Along with only streaming is no dlc which makes Fallout 3 an incomplete game, and to a lesser extent the same with New Vegas.

Fallout 4 is a love or hate game, even amongst fans of Fallout. For me I love 90% of it. The settlement building is a big hate or big love. For those like me the settlement building added hours and hours of game play, building and rebuilding the same settlement, saving builds on save files and recording screen shoots, videos, and viewing other builds and tips on youtube. Then there is populating the settlements and then choosing their outfits.

Fallout 4 also has mods. Some simple mods improve the game like with improving weather, graphics, and scrapping. An other simple mod can quicken game play by providing high level perks from the beginning of the game, essentially a new game plus.

Re: Poll: How Much Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?

NoCode23

All I want is smooth blur free game play. 60fps can eliminate most of the camera motion blur that game makers think we all want but most hate. Thankfully some games on consoles are providing options to turn off camera motion blur. Now they just need to make it a standard like Y axis inversion is standard.

Other standard options should be fov, dof, chromatic aberration, anti aliasing, lens flare, god rays, volumetric atmosphere, grain, and text size options.

Overall regardless of graphics, and any image effect techniques used that degrade the image, 60fps is superior to 30fps because it is smoother.

Re: L.A. Noire, Bully Both Coming to GTA+ Subscription Service This Year

NoCode23

It will be interesting to see how GTA+ may be used with GTA 6 off and online. At worst it would be required for online play.

Bully, and or, LA Noire would be nice Plus games, especially with the price increase last year. Also the PS4 versions that can be downloaded.

GTA + may be good for new gamers, but for R☆ veterans like me we most likely already own the games we want, and are past needing any freebies in GTA online.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 522

NoCode23

I missed my horses so I'm back to RDR2 online riding around and doing the daily challenges. Also doing a replay of Far Cry Primal. More like a first play as my real first play was short before I moved on to other games. This time I am enjoying it more. It's basically Far Cry Caveman. The most powerful weapon is a thrown spear, for transportation a bear can be trained and ridden, and there is a large pet owl that can drop bee hives on the enemies.

Re: Days Gone Dev Bend Studio Staffing Up for 'AAA Live Service' Game

NoCode23

@NEStalgia
I agree with your point about competition for the same pool of players and about luck. GTAV is a perfect example. The success of GTAV online was more than Rockstar ever imagined. That success caused single player dlc to be replaced by online dlc, the very long delay of GTA VI, and RDR2 online to be givin very low priority for content and especially fixing problems. With GTA V online printing money years after the initial big investment there is no rush to put to market anything that could stop that flow of easy money.

Re: Xbox Is Bringing Four Exclusives to PS5, But It Won't Say Which

NoCode23

I just watched videos of those 4 games mentioned. 3 are a definite pass with only Sea of Thieves the lone interesting game. Grounded might interest me some however the extremely short outdoors infocus distance leading to blur would give me eyestrain and a headache.

Flight Sim, Starfield and the coming Indiana Jones, Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5 or any Fallout remasters/ remakes is what I want. Waiting out a year or two of Xbox exclusivity for those games would be OK, I could wait.

Re: The Latest PS5 Firmware Update Is Available to Download Now

NoCode23

Web browser: I paused a game on my PS4 to visit this site and how I am submitting this post. Amazingly without the need of a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Extemely convenient.

UI/Home Screen, Folders, Themes, and USB saves: just make it like the PS3 and PS4.

Then add a home screen link to the web and issue a retro designed matte black rectangular model for those that do not prefer weird ugly and the additional cost of black side panels. Also with zero desire to place verticle.

Re: Youtuber DIY Perks Crafts Perfectly Portable PS5 Tablet and It's Glorious

NoCode23

@sanderson72
My thoughts too. A similiar design could have been a real slim instead of the smaller but just as ugly and the cheap plastic leg for horizontal placement slimmer Sony designed.

The design here is small enough for travel and easy taking from room to room, but is not portable like a tablet or even a full power laptop as it does not have an internal power supply and is not an option for those that desire a handheld device.

Hopefully Sony has come to their senses and the PS5 PRO will look like a larger version of this design. Just an all black rectangle please.

Re: Believe It or Not, PS4 Sales Rocketed in the UK Last Year

NoCode23

Still rocking with my 6 year old Pro with a regular PS4 from 2015 as a backup. My 1080p tv PRO combo provides good performance when selecting performance mode on all but a few games. I also replay favorites. New games are always possible new favorites, but previous favorites replayed after 3 years is still fun, can feel fresh, and sometimes have new content. Then there is also Plus games.

I have no desire to purchase a PS5. It's smaller now but still ugly, I would need to pay extra for black side covers, it has a small ssd for what game sizes are now, it does less than my PS4, and it's ugly.

Maybe the PS5 PRO will interest me with not being ugly, plain black rectangle without the hidden cost of black side panels, and have a larger ssd. Maybe a new ui, themes, folders on home screen, and maybe it can do google searches.

Re: Sony Wants PS5 Games to Automatically Adjust the Difficulty While You Play

NoCode23

I can usually handle difficulty myself if given difficulty options at the start and during the game.

Overall I like the process of getting better in games. That is where the obtaining of better weapons and gear, upgrading weapons, acquiring perks, leveling up skills, and learning what works and what don't actually makes surviving easier. I want to see and experience improving my character. Also being op in some games is just plain fun.

Fallout games does difficulty well for an action adventure shooter type game. Very easy, easy, normal, hard, and very hard affect damage received and damage given. Same weapons, same amount of ammo, and same amount of enemies. The difference being how quick the player dies versus how quick the enemy dies.

Ai controlled dynamic auto scaling of difficulty? I prefer the old fashioned way and work it out myself.

Re: 19 Amazing Games Join PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week

NoCode23

I make lists, my list to Santa is my favorite and Santa being the nice guy he is always comes through. last year I asked for a car and got one, a 1975 Pinto. I had hinted at newer BMW or a Benz, but hey that old Pinto still runs well.

The most important list to me is the list I want to stay off of. That is Santa's list, and he checks it twice, of those that have been naughty and not nice.

Re: PS Plus Indie Hit Teardown Updated with Invert Y-Axis Option

NoCode23

I absolutely can not play a game if Y can't be inverted. For me the right stick needs to move like my head. Pull back to look up, forward to look downs. The X axis also needs to be move the stick right to look right, left to look left.

That a game was released in 2023 that is without axis options is beyond incredible. Settings and options should be included in game info and reviews.

Re: GTA 6 Trailer Out Now, 2025 Release Window Revealed

NoCode23

202 freaking 5!😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫!!! Well maybe it'll be the first week of January 202 freaking 5.

The trailer was too much fast cuts from scene to scene for me with only little of interest. That being the gator going into a store. I doubt actual game play will anything like this first trailer.
What I noticed most is the sometimes large amount of haze and glare of volumetric atmosphere. It's Florida, you know, where it is sunshine, blue skies, and clear atmosphere. That is when there isn't a hurricane.

I don't want to set the world on fire.
I just want to start a flame in your heart.

I was thinking that before all of this that I knew a woman.
Or maybe I was a woman. Aaahh it hurts when I think.

Cazadores to the right of me.
Cazadores to the left of me.
Cazadores in front of me.
As into the valley of Cazadores I go.

Re: PlayStation Users Set to Lose Hundreds of TV Shows They Paid For

NoCode23

An hour ago a guy knocked at my door and handed me a notice that he said was official, legal, and clearly worded in the purchase agreement. The notice said that come January 2024 the washing machine I purchased 2 years ago would be removed from my home by the company I purchased it from. No refund, no clean cloths.

Re: PlayStation Users Set to Lose Hundreds of TV Shows They Paid For

NoCode23

So when will the refund checks be sent? There will be refunds, right? Please tell there will be prompt refunds. To have no refunds would be theft.

No new or recent media, digital or physical is safe now. Codes included with media, mandatory firmware updates, mandatory connection to the internet, and snap, here today gone tomorrow.

Re: GTA 6 Trailer Debuts on Tuesday, 5th December

NoCode23

I am very hyped I will admit. I am most curious about when the story takes place, the protagonists, the map, story, and release date. Twenty years ago would be nice as there wouldn't be the current politics, but if current GTA 6 could amusingly parody current politics.

My biggest question and concern is, will GTA6 still be 'GTA'?

Re: Microsoft Still Wants to Put Xbox Game Pass on PS5, PS4

NoCode23

Maybe a GPP, Game Pass Playstation, would work. That subscription would provide only XBox exclusives. Seems a win win for both Sony and MS as both would increase their sub income.

Price is a factor. Too high and some will pass while too low and some Xboxers may feel burned for what Gamepass costs them. That burn may be reduced if new games have a delayed release on GPP or a higher sub fee for no delay of new releases.

Another sub I can afford, but a day will still be only 24 hours.

Re: Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition Announced

NoCode23

@TripleKing333
The weird X and Y deal is what kept me from finishing BG&E on PS2. Then the PS3 hd version had the same X and Y deal so I passed.

It's so unplayable to pick looking up to look up only to then needing to look right to see to my left. Hopefully any new release will have normal X and Y setting choices.

Re: Fallout TV Series Images, Plot Details Revealed, Out in April 2024

NoCode23

If it would be on Netflix I would give it a look, but only after about 3 or 4 patches.
I'm thinking more comedy and less serious. Goofy supermutants, oddball characters and their quests, plasma weapons that leave a pile of goo, and stealing everything, clothing too, from defeated human enemies. Maybe even partially a musical.

Definitely nothing 2023 in music or current politics. I want Peggy Lee and Dean Martin not autotune rap, and 2 genders and whatever supermutants are.

Re: Video: Why Sony Will Never Make the PS Vita 2

NoCode23

I haver never owned a PSP or Vita but I do find the photo here of the Vita interesting where it shows features like YouTube, Facebook, and Skype. I never knew Skype was ever available on a Sony hand held. Even when the PS3 was billed as 'it only does everything' it never had Skype.

Re: Poll: Do You Think GTA 6 Will Release on PS4?

NoCode23

I voted no way on the PS4, buuuut, it could when it is considered that GTA 5 released on the PS3 and then 4 a year later. However a 2024 or 2025 release of 6 would be 4 or 5 years after the PS5 release.

Overall I only want 6 on current gen and at 60fps. Hopefully the controls and weather effects are improved from GTA5.

Re: PS5 Slim 'Not That Much Smaller', According to This Teardown Video

NoCode23

It is definitely smaller, but still ugly and weird looking to me. Then there is the still hidden added cost of black side plates if one desires an all black look. Time will tell how quiet this new design is.

Overall this new design is disappointing and not what I had hopes for in a smaller design. The increased size of the base ssd is welcome.

Re: Far Cry 6's PS5, PS4 Post-Release Support Is Now Finished

NoCode23

I like 3,4,5, and ND more than 6 and I have recent replays of 3,4, and ND. FC6 has some good like a decent map and cool animal companions, but overall I did not like the Libertards, the story, the forced 1st to 3rd person when entering camps, the ammo deal, and long journeys to get a helicopter.

FC6 is the only game in the series I was one and done with as I was happy to delete the file when I finally finished it after a 3 month break about halfway through.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS5 'Slim'?

NoCode23

The slimmer is still ugly, but now it is smaller. The extra cost vertical stand reminds that I have yet to understand the vertical thing with Playstation consoles.

This gen I will probably pass on Sony and go MS. Then maybe go back to Sony when the PS6 is released.
