After August's PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium offering seemed to go down really well with subscribers, we're very interested in seeing whether September's selection can match the hype.
Honestly, we're guessing that it won't.
That's not to say that we think September's lineup is bad — it's just lacking the kind of mainstream appeal that August had going for it.
Now look, pro wrestling may well be considered mainstream, but having WWE 2K25 as Extra's headline act is going to be a red flag for a lot of people. As is always the case with sports games, you either like the sport or you don't.
Persona 5 Tactica is up next, a strategic spin-off that barely seemed to register even amongst the Persona 5 faithful. For many, this 2023 title was just one milk too far — but we suppose that its inclusion here gives you an excuse to actually try it out.
So what about Fate/Samurai Remnant? This Extra offering's starting to look rather anime, but trust us when we say that this action RPG is very underrated. It's got a cool alternate history storyline, some great characters, and a fantastic sense of progression. It's also got a banging opening theme song.
Elsewhere, PS1 throwback Crow Country is a neat horror escapade, and The Invincible is definitely one to grab if you're a fan of sci-fi mysteries.
Unfortunately, over in the land of PS Plus Premium, the most expensive subscription tier is stuck with just one game again. PS2's Legacy of Kain: Defiance — a somewhat divisive sequel — is all you're getting.
