Ubisoft has made the difficult decision to delay Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake past its original release date next month to 18th March 2021. Currently planned for release on PlayStation 4 (playable on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility), the push back allows the developer to "ensure we deliver a game you enjoy". The remake has been widely criticised for not exactly looking the part with a poor selection of screenshots released upon its reveal.
The publisher's statement reads: "We are excited to be able to put this game in your hands again as we retell the story of Prince and Farah in the amazing 11th century Persia. However, 2020 was a year like no other. Today we would like to inform you that we need more time to complete the game. With that, the release date of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been moved to March 18, 2021. We believe this is the right decision to ensure we deliver a game you enjoy. Thank you for your patience and continued support of the Prince of Persia, and we hope you remain safe and healthy during this holiday season."
Let's hope this delay allows the development team to get the project in a much better shape. Have you been looking forward to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake? Try and fast forward time in the comments below.

This was supposed to come out next month? If the trailer was anything to go by, it looked like it needed another good couple of years!
Doubt it'll improve much between what we saw and the release but ig we'll see
Definitely a good thing. The game looked rough and needs some time in the oven.
@Deadlyblack I'm not sure 2 months can change much - other than performance and stability (which are still important of course)
Hi there fellow gamers. I don´t know about this one. Prince of Persia the Sands of Time is one of my all time favourite games and this "remake", more like a remaster simply does not look like the part.
Maybe the team can use the extra time do make some significant changes.
We´ll see it on March.
Cheers, stay safe and happy gaming to us all
@Voltan It can make a difference with graphics and like you said stability and performance.
I know I use this example a bit but I remember when the N. Sane Trilogy had some gameplay shown in the spring of 2017 and it looked a little rough in a few places and once the game released it looked 10x better than the videos that were trickled out, and that game went from worldwide reveal to release in six and a half months.
Nah, just cancel. It’s not gonna be good, so it’s not gonna sell well. Ubisoft will say people don’t want the IP, and PoP will be more dead than before. Just cancel the death of PoP please. We will all be happier then.
Tbh I thought it looked good. Maybe the character models look meh, bit the backgrounds look really good. Personally I feel like people are being a bit too harsh on it.
Prince of Persia demake more like. This looked terrible. Its preorder price is 30 quid nonetheless!
I'd honestly prefer if they just plopped the original game on the disk as it's clear that they have no clue what they're doing with this "remaster".
Ambient occlusion alone will greatly improve the visual fidelity.
The graphics looked like a late-PS3/early PS4 game at max... I don't know if they will really improve it though...
Good. It looked awful. Hopefully they get it right so we can get a new game in the series.
Great news, hopefully it looks like a proper remake then!
I enjoyed playing thru the first Prince of Persia and what little I tried of 2 and 3. Also beat the PSP spinoff and played a good ways into Forgotten Sands.
I was this close to beating the 2008 reboot, but kept having trouble pushing the final boss off the ledge.
