This game is really good but does not capture nearly as much magic for me as It Takes Two. I still like it a lot but some of the levels drag on and there is not nearly as much to discover and play with in the world. The story is not as engaging for me either and the characters are not nearly as likeable imo. Again still a good time I think I was just a little let down after the bar they set with ITT
@PerpetualBoredom I feel like you are AI at this point with the lack of creativity behind your campaign against using it for textures. Actually AI might do a better job of making its case instead of just spamming AI BAD on every article that mentions E33 (the GOTY)
Not much playing time with the holidays but I’m rotating between Octopath 2, Stellar Blade and Indiana Jones. All three are excellent so far in their own ways and very different which is keeping things fresh
@Max_the_German the first game is good but much more rough around the edges, it would definitely impact your enjoyment of the story since it does build on the previous entry but it stands enough on its own to be played without it. maybe just watch a recap of the first if you don't want the time sink, this one is improved in every way so you aren't missing out on the gameplay side of things
Yeah much higher for me, easily takes the number two spot behind only E33, both of which are two of the best games I've ever played. Such a good story with excellent characters, really fun combat and an incredibly impressive open world with so many things to see and do. Henry is probably hungry just thinking about it
I couldn't believe the vitriol around the previous story and the amount of support the people were getting who were calling this incredible game "garbage". People are so radical about this kind of thing it really makes them look foolish to anyone with their wits about them
Outstanding game. Great story, extremely immersive and a super fun platinum to boot. Highly recommend now that its optimized. 9/10 closer to a 10 than an 8!
@playstation1995 one of the only times I’ve disagreed with one of your comments in many years! To each their own though brother just so happy to live in a time with so many great games to play
Yotei better in every way in my opinion. So much more enthralling in pretty much every way. Just so much more interesting and engaging. Combat is so smooth and fun and the world is gorgeous and much more fun to explore. I think the story and characters are way better too honestly even though I know that is a point of contention and I am probably in the minority there. But it is just such an all around banger while I found Tsushima to be a soft 8/10 and Yotei a strong 9. But obviously opinions are opinions and it is all subjective
This game does look cool and impressive but I do think it lacks a specific vision and looks more like a bunch of fantasy elements from other media slapped together without a strong foundation of creative purpose. It really feels like they set out to make “cool medieval action fantasy game” without having a unique story to tell or anything to add to the genre. I know you could say this to some degree about a lot of games but it feels particularly surface level here. I would be thrilled to be proven wrong though
@Jammer I understand not wanting to label everything like that but Code Vein is souls-like to a T, almost everything about it is crafted intentionally to follow the DS model. and then they just made it anime
Fantastic game so far, really blowing me away the world is breathtaking. I cannot stop thinking about it when working or busy and can't put it down when I get the time to play. There's so much to do too it is wild. Cannot wait to work on the platinum!
@Dogbreath certainly not fundamentally broken on PlayStation. The performance issues seem to vary in severity person to person but to throw the baby out with the bathwater for any game that doesn’t run perfectly is to miss out on a lot of great experiences
More of an 8 for me at this point but I’m still pretty early into it, no frame drops for me on base PS5 outside or some in the cutscenes. Gameplay is extremely satisfying and a lot more challenging this time around which works well. Lots of fun so far
the only thing in contention for my GOTY is KCD2 it stinks that it is overshadowed a bit by this one but E33 is just such a special, once in a lifetime kind of game that is does just enough to surpass it for me personally. they are both 10/10s though in my book and two of the best games I've ever played. wild that they were released just months apart, and I don't think anything will match those experiences for a long while to come
Might have to take the leap on this one I was planning on getting borderlands but no console reviews is making me want to wait a while. And it’s 50 bucks cheaper cannot beat that
@carlos82 yeah resi 9 looks outstanding. agree about the motion blur I don't usually have the best eye for that stuff but it was really distracting and looked pretty detrimental to the experience. other than that the game looks awesome!

@SleepyNick those sub lists are based on one specific aspect of the game, not the game as a whole
