Atlus has revealed total sales for Shin Megami Tensei V have now surpassed two million units thanks to the boost from its multi-platform Vengeance edition.
The RPG was originally a Nintendo Switch exclusive, but received an updated edition across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC just over two and a half years after the original launch. The Vengeance edition has now sold over one million copies, which brings total sales across both versions to over two million.
To celebrate the milestone, the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game is currently 50% off on the PS Store until 13th August, priced at £29.99 / $31.49. "We sincerely thank you for the love and support from so many people," the franchise's profile on Twitter said. "We kindly ask for your continued support for Atlus and Megaten."
Sales stats for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance were actually part of a report SEGA accidentally made public last month, where it was stated the two versions of the RPG have collectively sold 2.11 million units. Also included were 7.25 million copies of Persona 5 Royal sold, 4.57 million units for Sonic Frontiers, and 1.66 million for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
In our Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance PS5 review, we awarded the RPG a 7/10 score and concluded: "It's incredibly combat-heavy, which can become oppressive, but working towards raising that perfect demon remains as engaging as ever."
