Darksiders 4 Co-Op

Freshly announced (and long awaited) sequel Darksiders 4 will apparently offer both online and split-screen co-op — a detail that wasn't necessarily reported on last week.

We write 'apparently' because it's only product listings that spill the beans. The game's official website currently has no mention of co-op — which is a bit odd, seeing as how it'll be a major selling point for some.

Anyway, we're supposedly looking at online co-op for up to four players (the minimum being two), and local co-op — via split-screen — for two players. And of course, you'll also be able to tackle the whole game in single player.

If you've seen the Darksiders 4 reveal, then four-player co-op makes total sense. You can play as any of the Four Horsemen this time around, each of them sporting their own weapons and playstyles.

We'll obviously have to wait and see how the game's design changes based on how many people you're playing with. The title's been described as a classic Darksiders experience so far; a third-person action adventure with a mix of combat, traversal, and puzzles.

It's also worth pointing out that this won't be Darksiders' first co-op rodeo. 2019 top-down spinoff Darksiders Genesis features two playable characters in War and Strife, and you can play through it with a friend.

How do you feel about co-op in Darksiders 4? Would you be up for playing with friends, or is single player your jam? Ready yourself for the apocalypse in the comments section below.
