Update #2 []:
The saga continues; the video has returned, this time on YouTube. You can find it embedded here.
Update #1 []: For whatever reason, the post featuring the Ghost of Yotei footage has been taken down. However, the internet works fast, and you can watch a mirror of the video on ResetEra.
It's unclear why the video has been removed from the official accounts; presumably it will reappear in the near future.
Original Story: Ghost of Yotei is the next major first-party game from Sony, and it's looking great, especially after that recent State of Play — and it now seems the marketing machine is officially up and running.

New gameplay footage has made its way online via official social channels, and the video puts the spotlight on just one of Atsu's weapons — the kusarigama.
The kusarigama — a small sickle on the end of a long chain — looks particularly violent here. Atsu is able to cast it out to enemies and pull them towards her for a brutal finisher.
It also looks good for crowd control, with large sweeping attacks able to damage multiple foes at once.
Hopefully we can expect similar videos for Atsu's other weapons, like her spear, odachi, and so on.
Strangely this doesn't appear to be on YouTube, but we'll swap that in if and when it does appear.

Finally got around to playing a good amount of Ghost of Tsushima a few days ago. So far it’s as expected. Great game! Really looking forward to this one!
Not enough blood - 3/10
I have mixed feelings about Ghost of Yotei...
The gameplay that was shown, aside from the burning Kusarigama, I didn't see anything exciting, nothing new... it just seems like another Tsushima camp with enemies with the same level of artificial intelligence, with the same possibilities of saving/winning the camp.
Even in the State of Play, although they showed two or three interesting things... I didn't see them address Tsushima's weakest point for me - the quality/variety of activities around the world. I'd like to see a world that's more responsive to the player and takes us out of our comfort zone.
Well, let's hope they're saving surprises.
@Reyzore hard to say I hope.they are keeping surprises, but after watching the state of play have no info for a decent guess, only what they said, where as after playing the Nioh 3 demo, that open world was crazy, difficult and full of surprises
@Reyzore didn't see them address Tsushima's weakest point for me - the quality/variety of activities around the world.
They've literally addressed this in an interview.
@Nepp67 I know they talked about this in interviews... but most people won't read it. It should have been shown a bit in the state of play... that's where the game needed to shine and show its potential.
They should have showcased this evolution of open-world activities (if it even exists). Like... Atsu riding a horse and being ambushed at any moment in the world, Atsu having to save someone, Atsu being tricked by someone who wants to be saved, traps, a bounty where Atsu, instead of hunting, ends up saving the person only to discover that the person is innocent and discover that the target is the one who set the bounty... I want to be surprised!! For example... is there fishing or hunting in the game? (At Atsu's camp, we saw fish and mushrooms.)
I have so many questions... I don't want them to show me the whole game, obviously. I just wanted a taste of this evolution to get me really excited. (The first game sold about 14 million, so they have an obligation to make significant improvements and additions.)
Hope this is more of a GoW-Ragnarok situation where the main game surprised with how much content and new ways/environments/enemies there is and not Spider-Man 2 situation where it was downright dissapointing with how much it felt the same overall.
I am keeping my expectation low though. I am not fond of the first game a lot and think it's weaker than some of the tentpoles of PS.
@Scottyy 100% it does seem to have that vibe of a Spiderman 2 level sequel effort.
@Quintumply video no longer available?
@KundaliniRising333 Strange, the post has been taken down. I've updated the article, thanks.
That looks stunning! Really can't wait for this game.
If i just used this website to get my news, i would definitely miss the fact that Hexen + Heretic Remaster just dropped on PS5...

@Lup good. I came here yesterday and didn't see this article, even though I've searched and read everything that was posted yesterday and today.
It looks really cool. What I don't like is that the bow she uses appears out of nowhere. I hate it when games do that. I think it breaks immersion. But besides that, very enjoyable trailer and can't wait to play the game now I'm done with AC: Shadows.
When do we start admitting that it looks lazy and uninspired sequel? AC shadows at least looks like a proper next gen game.
@Marquez More bloods with Takashi Miike mode

In the gameplay reveal they show Atsu being ambushed by ninjas who camouflage themselves into the snow and some of the other ones you're talking about are already in the first game like saving a random person from group of bandits or mongols and the victim gives us information on where it took place in order to stop it. We have sidequests in the first game where we get tricked like a woman telling us to get her rice back from bandits and not wanting us to kill them and we already hunt animals to craft equipment such as bears for hides. Obviously the hunting isn't that deep in the first game but it's it will be expanded upon in the second game due to the camp and "cooking."
Thank god Sony focuses on people who aren't on forums for their main games. This looks great and I'm all for a sequel that expands the combat and exploration rather than re-inventing the wheel (remember it's only been in deevelopment for 3-4 years considering how much they supported Tsushima)
@Reyzore You want to be surprised but you want them to spoiled the surprise?
Im just going to go on blind as possible. I don't think any of us think this is going to be bad.
@Lastochka cant say that to the Sony Weebs mate, saying ubisoft might have done something better will get you burned at the stake 🤣🤣🤣, but i am definitely in agreement with you, Yotei will get an a fanboy review regardless of how lazy it is,
People can say what they want about Ubi and assassins creed, but at least location is changed and gfx get upgraded. And Ubisoft for years have stood by " dont fix what isn't broken"
People complain yet still buy 🤷♂️
Looks fantastic, combat blows AC Shadows out of the water.
@Reyzore, I feel the same way. I will buy the game, but I fully expect it to be mostly like GOT with an AC Shadows feature set, like a vengeance plot, flashbacks, and a similar time.
I think the way Naoe does combat in AC Shadows is more realistic, given the size/weight differences of the enemies. Atsu feels a little bit like the devs copied and pasted Jin's strength onto her, so it loses some of the combat realism that the previous game had.
AC Shadows has the destructible items too, which adds something, so I hope Yotei incorporates that tech too.
@PuppetMaster It's possible to reveal, demonstrate, and excite without having to show everything... in my opinion.
I'll give you an example: they talk about 5 weapons... I'll be a little disappointed if it's only 5 weapons. If it's only 5 weapons, they shouldn't have shown all the weapons (they could have shown just 3 for example)... I like to know about things, but I don't want them to show me everything.
@darylb24 I'm almost certain there won't be this destruction technology... Sucker Punch isn't known for its technical prowess; they focus more on art direction. They'll try to differentiate themselves with other things (beautiful world, good gameplay...)
My problem, and what raises my doubts, is whether they've actually managed to significantly improve the quality/variety of activities throughout the world.
This looks brutal and beautiful all in one go. I already preordered the delux edition and I can't wait, I love GoT and this looks like a continuation of that and I'm up for it.
Those animations are amazing so smooth
Have to agree with an earlier comment. It’s a good job most gamers dont do forums like these. Games would never sell anything lol. This game looks fantastic!!!
I played through AC Shadows earlier this year and this looks just like it. Even the story and the options while talking to certain NPCs to locate certain missions or cargo.
That was blloody.shes on a rampage. Word up son
Really looking forward to this. I’ll miss the hot spring scenes from the first game, though.
Sigh, this looks exactly like the first game and could probably run on ps4. Zzzzzz….
Not watching but woo I am excited for this game!
@Lembit I agree. I cannot stand a sequel that is on a newer gen of console and yet it looks like they used the engine of the last game. SP doesn't usually have the wizardry of ND or Insomniac, but come on. If you are not gonna upgrade your current engine to a new version then make it with Decima or Unreal
