New Ghost Recon Rumour

Development of the next Ghost Recon game is reportedly progressing as planned, with the title now targeting a 2026 release.

According to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson — who, of course, has a fantastic track record when it comes to all things Ubisoft — the project is set for "internal alpha" testing this autumn / fall. The suggestion is that development will really start to ramp up in the coming months, leading into the new year.

Apparently, sources are saying that it should take roughly 12 months for the project to progress from its alpha phase all the way through to full release. Again, a 2026 launch is on the cards — but it'll almost certainly drop in the latter half of the year (if it isn't delayed, obviously!).

As was reported back in March 2024, this new Ghost Recon is looking to be a "tactical" first-person shooter with a grounded, realistic feel. Ubisoft probably thought it was a good idea to reboot the franchise to some degree, after 2019's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint struggled to establish itself.

Would you be happy to see a new Ghost Recon drop next year? What do you actually want from it? Give us some hand signals in the comments section below.
