Publisher NIS America has locked down a release date for Trails beyond the Horizon — the latest entry in Falcom's long-running RPG series.
Originally meant to launch this autumn / fall, Horizon was delayed into early 2026 just last month. It's now officially dropping on the 15th January — so that's something to look forward to as the new year kicks in.
Previously, there was a lot of excitement surrounding the game's proposed 2025 launch, as it would mean that western Trails fans would finally be caught up with the series.

However, with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter — a full-on 3D remake of the original adventure — set for the 19th September, an autumn / fall date for Horizon always seemed like overkill (even though the two titles are being published by two different companies).
And that's without even mentioning Trails through Daybreak 2, which released earlier this year!
So, in essence, enthusiasts will have roughly four months to complete 1st Chapter before reuniting with Van and the gang for the series' current story arc. That's still a lot of Trails in a relatively short amount of time.
