If you simply can’t wait for the next season of Studio Trigger’s excellent Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, then you can look forward to adding its prequel manga Madness to your bookshelf next year.
Written by original screenwriter Bartosz Sztybor with art by Japanese illustrator Asano, the manga will “explore the backstory of fan-favorite characters Rebecca and Pilar”. It’s due out on 24th February, 2026.
Here’s the official blurb from Dark Horse:
“Rebecca grows up with her big brother Pilar as they pursue their shared dream of becoming a legendary edgerunner like their father. In the megalopolis of Night City, where obsessions with technology, violence, and power run rampant, they struggle, suffer, and cause chaos wherever they go! As they go about their daily lives, a mysterious man appears before them – changing the trajectory of their future. In this manga, a prequel to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, siblings Rebecca and Pilar’s lives are full of madness as they rush through Night City to prove themselves as edgerunners!”

The manga will be available in 5.125” x 7.25” paperback format, and is available to pre-order at some stores already.
Meanwhile, a preview comic was made available exclusively at last weekend’s Anime Expo, and will also be sold at San Diego Comic-Con later in the month.
We had a flick through some of the preview panels from this manga and the art looks a little light and simple for our tastes, but we’ll gladly take a new Cyberpunk story – especially in anticipation of the new season, as mentioned previously.
