Re: This Time Next Year, We'll Be Playing PS5

I will likely make the switch when the new Monster Hunter game hits the PS5. That's been my M.O. for the WiiU and then the PS4. Gives me some time for the kinks to be worked out of the launch of a new console, as well as time for some first rate games to be discounted.

I'd buy into DG2 before a Syphon Filter sequel but it would be predecated on the developers making a more streamlined, focused adventure. Days Gone had some amazing thrills but it ended up becoming a chore to finish. Congratulations to Bend Studios for the commercial success regardless.

I enjoyed Days Gone but it was too long. For me, a new game plus feature is always welcomed but it's much more rewarding to use the powered up character to blast through the game in a fast paced, bombastic style. Even fully upgraded, for me the game would still feel like a chore at times. One playthrough is plenty, especially considering all of the other games waiting for me to take a crack at. Still, I commend Bend Studios's efforts.

I had mild interest in this game leading up to its release. After the negative reception, I forgot about it, convinced I would never be interested in it. And now I'm straddling the fence on whether or not to buy it. The developers have done a good job updating this game and hopes everyone that plays NMS can appreciate that effort. Miyamoto famously said that a released broken game is broken forever. Maybe NMS will be an exception.
