How do you get the best weapons in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne? The expansion's highest ranked weapons are also the hardest to craft. Many Rarity 12 weapons in particular require extremely rare materials from some of the game's most powerful monsters.
This guide does not contain story-related Monster Hunter World: Iceborne spoilers, but it does detail the expansion's endgame.
How do you craft the best weapons in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne?
As with crafting any equipment in Monster Hunter, you're gonna need the right materials to craft Iceborne's best weapons -- it's just that actually finding these super rare materials is going to take some time.
The first thing you're going to need to do is beat Iceborne's story. Once you've seen the credits roll, you'll unlock the Guiding Lands. After this, you just need to work on increasing your Master Rank.
At set points, your Master Rank will stop increasing, and you'll be given a new assigned quest. Complete these quests whenever they pop up, and you'll break through the Master Rank cap.
Now here's the thing: these assigned endgame quests can feature brand new monsters. It's very likely that if you still have unknown materials listed when you're trying to craft Rarity 11 or Rarity 12 weapons, it's these undiscovered monsters that have them.
In short, if you can't find the materials you need, you've just gotta keep grinding that Master Rank in order to unlock new monsters to hunt. You'll get there eventually.
Once you've finally crafted your weapon of choice, you can then augment it to make it even more effective. Click here for a full guide on how to augment your weapons.

I'm bookmarking all of these guides. Thanks dude! Taking in all of Iceborne's new features is overwhelming and you make things easier to digest.
@Jimmy_G_Buckets Thanks for giving them a read!
@ShogunRok Is Iceborne the same as the main game where you have a low HR and high HR version of the same monster?
For example, is there a low MR Kulu-Ya-Ku and high MR Kulu-Ya-Ku?
@WanderingBullet No, it's all just Master Rank, thankfully.
@ShogunRok Ah, cool. I wasn't sure if I should focus on farming for materials now just incase there are high rank versions of the same monsters. Thanks.
