Re: FIFA 22's Intro Sequence Is Unexpectedly Awesome

Jayofmaya

Actually something new and interesting, albeit for 20 minutes. I'd get a Fifa game with a story like that and a little bit of free roam between games as such, I know NBA went that route and didn't do that well outside of the matches but it could do well in something like a new Fifa Street, those ps2 games were fantastic so why not an expansion on that series? Personally still gonna skip this one as I recently got a free copy of 21, not that I'll ever play it single player.

@JohnKarnes Tbf growing your own produce is a great idea if you give a toss about keeping the planet alive for more than 10 years or so. At least locally sourcing things for a second option. I have to admit I know of the malpractice in gaming sectors but strive towards vegetarianism/locally sourced food and sustainable living much more than what games I should and shouldn't purchase.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Even More PS5 Marvel Games from Sony?

Jayofmaya

Ant-Man could be cool, but I struggle to see how they justify having to fight tiny enemies like bugs or whatever. Seems best in a lego setting. My 2 favourites were Dr. Strange (hey, R&C Rift Apart with a more realistic tone and bro, free your mind and listen to the voice within. Take some DMT, wake up... This story is the closest to reality. Loving hippy moment over.) and also Punisher because I don't think they ever nailed that darker tone (I'm basically going polar opposites here). I think Black Panther's Wakanda and tribal stufg would be a great setting, though. Anything else I don't know or care for.

Re: Destroy All Humans! 2 Remake Probes PS5

Jayofmaya

I played the OG on ps2 for hours and hours. Enjoyed just messing about in games back then, when you sort of made your own story a little as well. Never gelled when I came to play the sequel so and haven't had much interest in the remake of the OG, either. I feel I wouldn't get the same enjoyment out of the small levels or reading thoughts/transforming into people. They were great games back in the day but honestly just feel like other games have ran with most of their ideas, other than mixing in a UFO with tractor beam. I remember trying to play the terrible ps3 game as well, cringe. On a side note, also skip the first video if you don't want to hear terrible music and see 0 gameplay.

Re: Outcast 2: A New Beginning Is a PS5 Sequel to the 1999 Adventure Game

Jayofmaya

@TBubs311 It hits sale now and then. It was really insane in scooe for a 3d game at the time of release, obviously pc only back then. Still a bit janky in the remaster (gun play is outdated and takes getting used to) but it's got a great story and setting so looks and feels nice. Also, the conversation animations are bad, kind of funny bad actually tb. If it hits sale again I'd say it's worth a try.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Dev Not at a State to Talk About PSVR Yet

Jayofmaya

They haven't really announced anything about PS/NGVR other than pretty much that they're gonna push it harder and have bigger titles, so not much chance of any devs working with Sony on it will spill any beans. Will be awaiting a show case next year some time where they'll reveal a few big games at least, I think.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Tales of Arise?

Jayofmaya

I can't afford more time to yet another series. I know if I like this one I'll try to go back and play the rest of the series. This and the "of Mana" series will probably be reserved for a dry year of games (when multiplayer/battle royale dominate the scene... -shudders-) when I have much less that I haven't played through.

Re: Far Cry 6 Overview Trailer Explains Story, Setting, and Guerrilla Tactics

Jayofmaya

@Daveuppercut I'm playing through Far Cry 5 now (thanks to the GoldenEye recreated maps going back up) and have to say I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it. It is a similar formula, but it's been long enough since I played 3 all those years ago (skipped 4) and it's fun to explore the map a decent amount and do most of the tasks. I think the Supersampling makes it look a little better on my 1080p game mode TV, too. The dog companion is really cool, unlocked him instantly but what really annoys me is the fact they didn't ever patch in that he can ride in the back of your truck or such.

Re: Talking Point: Did PlayStation Showcase 2021 Deliver on the Hype?

Jayofmaya

I voted okay because Venom would be a cool boss, as for Wolverine, I hope they don't just make Spider-Man/Miles Morales with Logan. I had a little interest in Project Eve and GoW (mostly because I still haven't played my copy of the first game) but I remembered KotOR after voting and wanted to change my answer to good. Oh well !

Re: Uncharted's Amy Hennig, Gary Whitta Are Writing PS5's Forspoken

Jayofmaya

Oh, wow. I wasn't alone thinking the story and characters look weak AF, then? I mean, imagine what the people who were complaining about Saints Row would think of this game if they were hyped for it? I thought SR story and characters could be good but this really did seem to lower the bar, perhaps they will stop complaining now.

Re: Korean Character Action Project Eve Dances with Death Like a K-Pop Star

Jayofmaya

Looks really awesome. However, the only thing about a game like this is there are usually only a few characters and the rest are enemies with no personality. Completely opposite from my favourite genre RPG where you can just spend half the game in dialogue haha I actually wanted the trailer music higher in this one, though, sounded nice.
On a side note, I've seen giant tentacle beings breaking through a dimensional tear from the abyss in movies and TV before but never have we been able to kick such a tentacle butt in a game before.

Re: Tongue-in-Cheek Topdown Metal Gear-Like Title UnMetal Sneaks to PS4 This Month

Jayofmaya

@Johnnycide You're that Ninja... Thanks for reminding me of this one. I haven't watched it in years. The mine bit was pure gold. I also remember that part where he was playing with mud guard. Haha However, I have definitely seen another which does a similar routine but in fast forward with that sort of Benny Hill music. Metal Gear Solid explained video is really a solid source of intel for those who might have only played 5. I had no idea Eeyore was behind the whole thing, though. Kojima's twists are just endless.

Re: Tongue-in-Cheek Topdown Metal Gear-Like Title UnMetal Sneaks to PS4 This Month

Jayofmaya

Lol the sped up bit with that music reminds me of a video where someone played the gamecube version of the OG MGS and had that same music, they sped it up exactly like that as the guard went "Huh? Whose footsteps are these???" And then proceeded to walk around a crate in a circle for 40 seconds doing exactly the same thing over and over. Really made you see how dumb AI is if you don't put tons of effort in lol

Re: My Friend Peppa Pig Has a Gameplay Trailer to Share

Jayofmaya

So, it's basically a Peppa Pig episode with none of the OG voice overs except Grampy Pig and Mummy Pig? Laaaaaame. Though, my little 3 year old hasn't even grasped Super Mario World yet, sadly, so if it's point and click it may be a good choice for him.
