THQ Nordic has announced Outcast 2: A New Beginning for PlayStation 5. It's a sequel to Outcast — the acclaimed sci-fi adventure game that released all the way back in 1999. A new beginning indeed, although there's no sign of any launch window yet.
Assuming you're actually old enough to know what Outcast is, this brief overview of the sequel should make some sense: "The long-awaited sequel sees Cutter Slade return to the spectacular alien world of Adelpha. Resurrected by the almighty Yods, he has returned to find the Talans enslaved, the world stripped of its natural resources, and his own past intertwining with the invading robot forces. It’s up to him to go on a mission and save the planet again."

There's also a very brief look at some gameplay in the trailer below:
So, dare we ask if you're an Outcast fan? Save another alien planet in the comments section below.

Never played the original, but I am keeping my eye on this one!
As for the presentation itself, I'm going to risk being torn to shreds to say that I enjoyed it more than Sony's.
Have mercy guys lol!
Was always curious about the original as it was remastered for the ps4 a few years ago, was it not? Anyone actually played that version and can share their experience?
As long as the combat in this game is alot more modern and refined than the original then I am interested. Because wow the first games controls did not age well.
That’s some fine looking eurojank
Lol, looks like from matrix 3 haha, with the dancing and speech hoping for a savior.
The original was cool really for the time,,with a foreign language for the alien culture etc. Choices of dialogue, action. Voxel graphics.
Looks decent. I’ll be keeping an ear out for this one
One thing I like what they're doing, is showing some gameplay even if it's on another trailer.
Need to watch the conference they had.
Hold up, was Outcast acclaimed? I'd been curious when it hit sub five bucks on sales in the past, but reviews seemed pretty critical. Was it just the PS4 version that was bad?
@Jtheripper Never played or heard about the first game.
Found some gameplay on YouTube but could not understand what genre it is.
What type of a game is it? Any newer games which can be compared with the original?
@Dr-M i guess you could call it an open world mix of action and rpg. Maybe a lil like the latest ac but with less side objectives.
Smaller scale.
It look ehh... need to see more
I've played the original back then but not a fan, I remember the game is clunky compared to mario 64, tomb raider, and soul reaver. I'm more strategy (starcraft) and fps fan (unreal & quake) on pc back then.
I've never played the original or remaster, but both trailers looked cool enough!
@TBubs311 It hits sale now and then. It was really insane in scooe for a 3d game at the time of release, obviously pc only back then. Still a bit janky in the remaster (gun play is outdated and takes getting used to) but it's got a great story and setting so looks and feels nice. Also, the conversation animations are bad, kind of funny bad actually tb. If it hits sale again I'd say it's worth a try.
@Jtheripper Thank you so much. While I was looking around someone compared it to Mass Effect.
@Dr-M hello , yeah maybe that's a better comparison i guess, its scifi, you meet alien cultures, mostly gun play, not melee, have some dialogue choices.
But more akin to the latest mass effect as it was open maps as i remember, not sure if one or a few open maps.
Cheers.
@Jayofmaya thanks! Thats good to know. Almost sounds like Eurojank, which scratches an itch for me.
