One of the best parts of any given Far Cry game is its post-release support. These games might be a little bit samey, but Ubisoft pushes the franchise into some pretty insane scenarios, providing some wildly different ways to play. Far Cry 6 appears to be no different — the publisher is planning a robust roadmap of post-launch content, and it all sounds pretty mad.

Firstly, there will be a bunch of stuff given out to players for free. There will be Weekly Insurgencies, new missions to track down and eliminate Anton Castillo's compatriots, which will of course reward you with new gear. You'll also receive six Special Operations — these take place in new locations and introduce new mechanics. You're tasked with stealing highly volatile chemical weapons and reach an extraction point before they overheat.

Also coming free of charge are three special missions that cross paths with some famous names: Danny Trejo, Rambo, and Stranger Things. Yes, that's a Far Cry 6 and Stranger Things crossover. What a world.

On the flip side is the season pass, included with certain special editions of the game or available separately for $39.99. The main attraction here are three DLC episodes, each one putting you in control of a past Far Cry villain: Vaas, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed. Set for release in November, January, and March respectively, these trippy episodes will play out a little like rogue-likes, as illustrated in the above trailer.

What's more, the season pass will grant access to Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon: Classic Edition. You just straight up get Blood Dragon as part of the season pass. Cool. Finally, a Blood Dragon set of gear is thrown in too, usable in the main Far Cry 6 game:

  • One outfit: Blood Dragon Gear Set
  • Two weapons: AJM9 and Kobracon
  • One vehicle: Omega Enforcer
  • One weapon charm: KillStar
  • One Fang for Hire: K-9000
  • One vehicle Chibi: Blood Dragon Chibi

Phew! That's a fair amount of stuff, both free and not-so-free. What do you think of all this additional content for Far Cry 6? Will you pay up for the season pass? Go upside down in the comments section below.
