Re: Sony Now Selling Refurbished PS5 Consoles

Jayofmaya

So, locate the defect, repair and clean? Exactly what happens when you send your console in for repairs... Don't get why people are fretting. They probably just push out a new console for the customers that sent in for repairs that aren't quickly repairable. It's good they take the time to repair them eventually and don't bin them.

Re: Anime GTA Neverness to Everness Could Be PS5's Next Big Thing

So, it's a bit like Twilight Princess in that you get 2 different realities with a similar layout? Sounds cool, but these games take either a lot of money or 7 years of your time to finish, I never got past Inazuma because I was always kept busy hunting chests and doing side content, trying to level and WITH spending real money here and there, too. It started to get difficult and I started to get burned out and never returned.

Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition Massively Oversold Projections, Remains BioWare's Biggest Game

Jayofmaya

Well, I wouldn't have expected that, purely because of how rushed and bad DA2 was. What a way to stick it to the fans. However, I was pleasantly surprised with Inquisition. Not sure I'd play it a second time, but I really enjoyed my 100% run in the game. The combat was just as good as ever IMO, but a little more focused on keeping you in the action. I think it deserved a GotY for sure.

Every real musician gets the offer of pay in exposure when they start. Every. Single. One of us. Quite troubling it's got to the point that more successful artists are starting to get these kind of offers again.
I got tired of "exposure pay" a long time ago and moved on to other ways to make money from music.

You have to weigh it up... Is it worth your time to give an already successful song over indefinitely to this company for 4 months minimum wage? Probably not!

Re: Soapbox: I Spent 3 Days with the Concord Trophy Hunters Who Dedicated Their Lives to Unlocking the PS5, PC Platinum

I literally saw the end of my trophy hunting days just a couple weeks ago TBH. I've turned off notifications for them and vowed to never look at my list again. It doesn't exist to me anymore and I'm very glad I did, because I did a grind a little like this for Knockout City. Day after day of playing catch or something equally silly, then having to connect my PS4 to my phone for a broken trophy and then grind away vs. bots and busing crossplay off functions. In retrospect, I didn't really have any fun, other than when I was playing real matches vs. nice players (Had some people who would throw you off to win MVP and such). It must have been nothing but a chore and it's shocking how quick this game died.

Re: Antstream Arcade (PS5) - Instantly Add 1,300 Retro Releases to Your Console Collection

Jayofmaya

I've recently totally legally procured all the DS, 3DS, SNES/Mega Drive games I have any interest in (and some 2 player stuff that I wouldn't play alone). There are certainly a lot of places they're competing with that give these games for free (That I DEFINITELY never used), so I'm not sure how this will gain popularity. The real problem I have with these Minis/Services are the total lack of improvement... Anyone ever tried playing Spawn or Super SWIV/Firepower 2000 on the SNES? Good luck! I added extra life cheats and romhacks to all the 2 player games for SNES so far (nearly 130 on my Hakchi mini) and they're a lot more fun that way.

TL/DR: Nobody plays most of these games for more than 5 minutes because they're just a pile of frustration and they're offered free on the net.

Re: Star Wars Outlaws Director a 'Little Disappointed' with Critical Reception

@RoomWithaMoose I loved Alien Isolation (STILL disappointed they never added the VR), but I don't think the AI is as amazing as you describe. The NPC is hilarious to kill because it's so stupid and I always easily evaded the Alien (In hard mode first time) by hiding under a trolly or something equally flimsy. The alien has a tendency to haunt the same area for a while, or double back on itself to try and catch you off guard, but I realised that straight away. You can also lead all the androids around like lambs to slaughter at the bridge area. It's a good game, with good AI, but not a high bar.

Re: Soapbox: Astro Bot PS5 Is Not a Graveyard, It's a Joyful Demonstration of Sony's Unique Ability to Reinvent Itself

Jayofmaya

I do like the newer IPs, but you point it out yourself, Last of Us took any chance of Sly Cooper away and Ghost of Tsushima will no doubt be the vision of the future now. Many of the charming action platformers and oddball titles we loved are gone and that is that. It would have been nice to see more balance, but I'm betting Astro will be our last look in to Sony games, other than high-budget AAA action or online multiplayer titles now. We will see Astro again on Ps6, perhaps... Or maybe never again, depending on how this one sells.
