@Areus Yeah same. You needed to unlock all the cages to be able to access the final level, and they were extremely tough to find and reach. I speak for my experience playing the game as a kid, but I think even adult-me would still struggle!

@UltimateOtaku91 FuRyu games are generally horrible. Reynatis is garbage as well. The only semi-decent ones I've played are Caligula Effect and Monark.

Falcom gets my vote, 2 mainline Trails games in the same year is insane. 2026 will repeat the trend with Horizon and Sky 2nd Chapter, I can't wait!

@Ludacritz What would be a fair price to buy the game? I loved the PS2 Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi series from the early-mid noughties and reading comments similar to yours stopped me from going for the purchase

Definitely will play it at some point, but Trails Beyond the Horizon mid-January onwards followed by Dragon Quest 7 have priority

@Nep-Nep-Freak Sadly it's unlikely to get a PS4 release. Lately, the trend is for PS4 versions to be omitted (Tales of Xillia Remastered, Tales of Berseria Remastered, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remakes, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, Gex Trilogy, Triangle Strategy, Trails in the Sky First Chapter, to name a few) despite them having a Switch 1 release and perfectly being capable of running on PS4...

@Locksley Exactly. The PS5 was already well-established in 2023, but they knew fans would still buy a PS4 version of the game. And now only 2 years later, many of them will buy the game yet again to play the best version available on PS5... 🤦‍♂️

Well done Falcom. If there are no delays, 2026 will be the second year in a row that they release two mainline Trails games in the West, impressive.

Very nice. With some PS4 games still being released in 2026, it's looking like the console will be relevant even once the PS6 is out in 2027 🫣
