Trails through Daybreak II, enjoying it so far despite the criticism

Enjoyed Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami, interested in the rest of the series but there are just way too many of them and they take way too long to complete

Good, we need this kind of U-Turn

Oh boy, here we go again...

The only correct way to start the Trails series is by playing Trails in the Sky FC. Every single subsequent game has minor and major references to every previous games.

I say this as someone who has started with Cold Steel, and not knowing what the hell characters were talking about made me feel lost... Not to mention severe spoilers about major characters in the previous games...

Oh, it will get a Blu-ray release? I'm disappointed, I wanted to purchase it for PS5 on cartridge...

I mean, when "Captured on PC" is what's written at the beginning of one of the PLAYSTATION State of Play trailers, it's hard to take the event seriously

Been with Essential for over 8 years and will stick with this tier.
I genuinely don't understand the appeal of Extra and Premium. Having that much of a quantity of games is bad, and what's the point of having added time pressure to finish games with that limit when it comes to rotating available games? Baffling.

And with that, all that's left is Kai No Kiseki! Hopefully we'll be getting it early 2026, very well done Falcom for getting Trails up to date for us out in the West!

Nice! The Cyber Sleuth duo are excellent games

@TedLassoNikes Spurs will win the Europa League, since Postecoglou always wins a trophy in his second season 😂

Until Dawn (PS5) — £46.79 / $44.99 (22% / 25% off)

This is hilarious

"Kind of, but I just played offline games instead"
Wanted to complete a Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenge race or two but couldn't

"Eh, I suppose so"
Not bad, but not great either

And this is why online-only is garbage. It was a mistake when Microsoft put it forward in 2013, and it is still is 12 years later.

@Bionic-Spencer Hopefully 130FC are in EFL League One when FM26 is released

Plan to bingeplay it as soon as it's released on the 14th of February, first time ever I'm glad to be single 😂

The last game I recall selling a million copies immediately is Metaphor ReFantazio

Andrew, there are still two months to go until April Fools' Day. Get yourself an accurate calendar.

Ys Memoire for me

@QiaraIris yeah I noticed that too, Daybreak II's lack of a paragraph is shocking

One of the very rare live service video games that have got it right

PS4 release: November 2013
PS3 PS+ games dropped: February 2019
Time gap: 5 years, 3 months

PS5 release: November 2020
PS4 PS+ games being dropped: January 2026
Time gap: 5 years, 2 months

Coincidence? Think not.

A free upgrade for owners of the PS4 version would be nice

Still feels surreal that we'll only be one game (Kai No Kiseki) behind after Daybreak 2 is released. Falcom have done a sublime job with the Western releases these past three years.

Argh, shame this clashes with Lunar Remastered Collection's release! Glad it's out early than expected though!

Interesting, this is like a Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) / Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (2009) situation

@Steelhead Ys X is an excellent game, enjoy! I'm still disappointed about Falcom doing an Atlus and re-releasing it in an enhanced edition though...

I started Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana last night, the nostalgia is strong with this one, having played the PSP version ages ago!

Wise words. I love my VITAs. Still use them and can Remote Play into my PS4 from anywhere in the world in 2025.

@Rob_230 R1 R1 my man

Hogwarts Legacy at #2 two years after its release is mental!

@AK4tywill Because it's AI "Limit" 😂

On for platinum trophies only

Next year it will be Topspin 2K25's turn

Shutdown before going to sleep
Rest mode during the day or while out and about with the PS Portal packed in

Still happy to stick with my OG PS5 with disc-drive after over 3 years

@TedLassoNikes Uh, buying P3R on PS4 for £22.99 brand new physical also grants you the PS5 version as a free upgrade...

@Futureshark Not a bad idea but it wouldn't work as it already exists, Sony released it back in 2003

@PuppetMaster The logic is very sound. While Asobi did make one amazing game in Astro Bot (ranked at #1), Atlus made three amazing games (two of them ranked at #2 and #10).

Considering how challenging it is to release just one great game, releasing three of them in the same calendar year is an extraordinary feat, one deserving of winning best developer of 2024.

Atlus, Falcom, and Shift Up would be my top 3

Deserved. An amazing game.

@Dimey Fair. I remember there being so much hype about this game and assumed it had to be in the top 10

@Fritz167 Oh dear, I did forget Astro Bot, thanks for the correction! Hard to believe BMW is completely out of the top 10...

So Metaphor ReFantazio and Black Myth Wukong are #1 & #2 then. Wonder what the order will be!

Not bad, but disappointed it couldn't squeeze into the podium. Stellar Blade is a real gem of a game for sure!

@Cloud39472 @greengecko007 Couldn't agree more with you guys. There is definitely a massive increase in sensationalist articles here, border-lining on rage-baiting, which is a big shame.

Metaphor is a very worthy #1, haters always gonna hate

Should be at least #5...

@KidRisky The only misuse here is your comment. You do know that words can have several definitions? One of the definitions of "refute" is "deny or contradict (a statement or accusation)".

Meaning the word is used correctly in this article's title and the X community note.

@colonelkilgore That's kind of what has happened in the last 4 console generations tbh!

N64 - moderate success

NGC - moderate flop

Wii - big success

Wii U - big flop, so much so that Nintendo had to make the unprecedented move to release a second home console during the same generation, in the Switch...

If the Switch 2 is too similar to the OG Switch, there is no guarantee of it being a success..

@Kingleo31 Yeah I noticed that too. The second half of 2024 is when big hit games that could easily have run on PS4 stopped having a PS4 release: Life is Strange Double Exposure, Dragon Quest III HD-2D, Lego Horizon Adventures, to name a few.
