PS1 Classic Rayman Looks Set for 30th Anniversary Release on PS5

The original PS1 game Rayman will receive a PS5 re-release to mark its 30th anniversary, according to a new Australian age rating listing.

The page covers a Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition for PS5 and Nintendo Switch, with Atari listed as the publisher and developer, and U&I Entertainment as the applicant. The latter covers physical editions, suggesting this re-release could receive a boxed version alongside digital availability on the PS Store.

Such a re-release would line up with both comments from Ubisoft and recent claims from video game insiders.

Ubisoft is currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Rayman series, and just one part of the celebrations is this re-release, or a remake as Insider Gaming originally pitched it. The outlet claimed a remake is in the works alongside a fourth mainline entry, and now we have evidence of a 30th Anniversary Edition. It's apparently coming in late 2026.

The remake could possibly be one of the cancelled games. Hope not.

Ubi should give more appreciation to the franchise that helped shape it.

Yes. I like Rayman I would like a Rayman 1 this year and would remaster the Rayman games in 2027 or 2028 or in the future.

I’m hoping it’s in a similar vein to the Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary remaster. Rayman was my first game. It holds a special place in my heart so I’ll support it, provided Ubisoft doesn’t cancel it.

Well... it's still one of the better Rayman games.

With rewind it would alleviate the difficulty issues.

I've been wondering why its yet to hit PS1 classics and i guess this is why.

Loved it growing up but jesus the game is brutal and unforgiving. Don't think i ever finished it.

A basic remaster would be brilliant. Add in features like difficulty options (I wouldn't tone down the difficulty, but I'll admit some people might might struggle with this game), fix the music (some versions didn't have the per-level tracks), and add the extra Rayman Designer bonus campaign, then it would be a great remaster.
