Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have Twice As Much Keanu Reeves As Initially Planned

Eldritch

@NoxAeturnus that's your opinion and you're welcome to it but I think he's an abysmal actor with no talent. As far as I'm concerned he plays himself in every film; with the possible exception of Bill and Ted. Hardly great talent but hey. And I never said it was the game's only selling point. I just don't think he needs to be involved at all. Even if I was a fan I still wouldn't want him in it. I can see everybody is gushing over him but the game should be strong enough without his input. On the other hand perhaps he's appearing because he was cryogenically frozen. If so let's get that done as soon as possible so I can be spared any more of his, so called, acting.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have Twice As Much Keanu Reeves As Initially Planned

Eldritch

Good for those who like him, I guess. But for those of us who find him a wooden and really banal actor this isn't exactly great news. Add to that any actor/popstar appearing is breaking immersion so I'm also against it for that. I'm really looking forward to Cyberpunk but worry that they feel the game doesn't hold up on its own merit and that they need to bring in a 'star' or two to bolster its hip status.

Re: First PS5 Devkit Photograph Finds Its Way Online

Eldritch

@Arnna my guess is incase anyone decided to leak photos. But yeah, fingers crossed the finished product won't look like that. Because my hair almost looked like Joan's, standing up in fright, upon first lying eyes on that monstrosity.

Re: The Division 2's Second DLC Is Out in Less Than a Week and Nobody Noticed

Eldritch

I really enjoyed the 1st but as has been said on here before 'games as a service' loses me if they're going to release a new game every year or so. Expansions, not an entirely new game, is what's needed. I poured hundreds of hours into the 1st. There's too many decent games out to do the same, all over again, knowing it won't last long

Re: The Last of Us 2 Will Be Accessible Without Sacrificing Tension, Says Naughty Dog

Eldritch

@Neolit in total agreement with you. I have a friend who's pretty much lost the use of one of his arms. So no PlayStation for him. He's been using a Wii so I mentioned to him about this module setup Microsoft has been developing and he's looking into it so he can hopefully get into some more up to date games. That's for the players. Though not everyone's of the same opinion unfortunately, as is testified by the down votes you've got for daring to suggest Microsoft is better than PlayStation at certain things.

Re: PS Now Ads Begin Appearing on PS4's Dashboard

Eldritch

@eltomo @Luna-Harmony I actually emailed Sony about that. I got a reply saying it was free so I should be happy about it. I replied getting leprosy is free and I didn't particularly want that either. Didn't get a response to that one. Ah well. I vented at least.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Will Represent the Biggest Jump in Computing Power of Any Console Generation

Eldritch

@Nickolaidas I think you're vastly overestimating the visual differences there's going to be. We've already seen examples of the PS5 and they're certainly not the big leap you're describing. What's more likely to happen, in the case of Cyberpunk, is more populated cities, better environment interaction (ie the way things react when shot up etc) an improvement to lighting and shadows but I certainly don't think we'll get the 3 times better graphic improvement you're suggesting.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer Isn't Dead, It's Evolved Into Something Too Big for the Game

Eldritch

@nookie_egg I know they brought in the shotgun, along with the new rifle, etc. And I still think the weapons were well balanced. I'm not a shotgun person, never have been, never will be. But shotgun users tend to have one thing in common... they're not exactly know for their stealth. So you used that to your advantage. As for the last time I played it, that was a fair while back but only because I pretty much played it to death. From one week after it released till remastered came out, I played it nearly every evening. Then switched to the remastered version for around a year. But funnily enough been asked to play it again this morning due to all this news... that could be messy.

Re: Death Stranding's Baby Can Communicate with You Through Your PS4 Controller

Eldritch

Can't think of anything worse. Way to break the immersion. How about being clever with the sound mix instead? If there's something within a game that's meant to sound like it's coming through a 10 pence speaker then the controller's speaker will be well suited. Otherwise I'll stick with my very capable surround sound system, thank you very much.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer Isn't Dead, It's Evolved Into Something Too Big for the Game

Eldritch

@nookie_egg What are you talking about? There wasn't ever any pay to win in the first one. And if you're suggesting you had to take on people using shotguns, with only a pistol, that just implies you just couldn't work out how to switch from your secondary weapon. I'd say all the weaponry was fairly balanced. And one person I used to play with would take out, more often than not, 3 times as many people as everyone else and she pretty much only ever used shivs.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Expect to See from The Last of Us 2 Tomorrow?

Eldritch

@Oh_fiddlesticks Not sure why you want the storyline given away but here goes... Spoiler alert... Ellie's girlfriend gets killed in a raid on their camp. Ellie goes on a rampage, Joel comes to the rescue... isn't really needed... Setup for TLOU3 put in motion... Either way, let's get a release date. I'm there as moral support for Ellie.

Re: Sony Will Launch PS5 Pro Alongside PS5 in 2020, Says Rumour, But We're Not Convinced

Eldritch

@lacerz That doesn't make any sense. The assets of the games, especially future games with higher textures, higher resolutions and HDR, make up a huge percentage of a game. You would also then have complications where your normal HDD would be restricted on how many games it could hold with regard to all those game's assets being stored on the SSD. Once your SSD was full, no matter how empty your HDD, you wouldn't be able to add more games. Unless of course you're suggesting that only one game's assets would be stored at a time? In which case that defeats the whole objective of the SSD, which was no real load times, because every time you started a game it'd have to load the assets to the SSD and it'd be restricted by the read speed of the HDD. Add to all that, if you know anything about SSDs, the less empty space you have on your SSD the slower it runs. So bigger is always much better. So I think @Knuckles-Fajita is right to be concerned about price. SSDs aren't cheap.

Re: MediEvil's PS4 Remake Goes Gold Ahead of Halloween Release

Eldritch

@sanderson72 They used to update the discs when making a new batch. So earlier versions of the games could have issues or things that disappeared in later versions. Vice City is a good example that had quite a few incarnations over its time. The difference is now we get the updates for free, back then you either had to stuck it up or buy the game again.

Re: Death Stranding Looks Strangely Compelling in Extended PS4 Gameplay

Eldritch

@AdamNovice They didn't say "typical formulaic Ubisoft style open world games of the past 5 years" though. They said "the entire industry". You can't just cherry pick. I'm in agreement with @PressR2. That's one hell of a sweeping statement to make. Unless of course they'd like to point out all the groundbreaking originality they're talking about?

Re: Death Stranding's 7 Minute 'Briefing Trailer' Gives You the Lowdown on Sam's Mission

Eldritch

I think, like someone mentioned in a previous post about DS, the more I see the less I'm interested. I like strange, being a David Lynch fan, but it's still got to make sense. Future technology that makes what should be a quick way of getting information into a drawn out, and rather backward, process is all very mainstream Hollywood. Hardly cutting edge stuff. Add in the "you're meant to feel sad at this point" music cues it's all a bit contrived. I'm sure others will find it deep and meaningful and I hope they enjoy it but for me the one thing that's certainly being lost is my interest.

Re: The Internet Is Cross with PlayStation's Name for the X Button

Eldritch

@Nintyfan How can I be a fan and not know the correct terminology? 😂 Oh dear lord. That's like asking a guy if he's read the instruction manual. I'm just picturing you getting your first PlayStation and not allowing yourself to open it till you've got a full understanding of terminology and know Sony's history. 😂 I get the feeling you don't have many friends.
