Re: Harry Potter Game Hogwarts Legacy Allegedly in Trouble on PS5, PS4

@lolwhatno Of course they made money, because no-one knew what was coming. Did they make as much money as they could've? Heck no. The game was pulled from multiple stores, there's the lawsuits, the pee'd off share holders, the amount of extra staff to pay to fix the mess. The delays to whatever project was coming next, the inevitable wariness of sales in the future, the extra money that'll now be needed to mend bridges with their annoyed userbase. I could go on but what's the point.
If they'd waited and released a fixed game they'd have had a few annoyed people but a far far bigger amount of revenue sat in their respective bank accounts. And all without a guilty conscience.

Re: The Game Awards Snags Sting for Live Arcane: League of Legends Performance

I really like Sting but, unlike a lot of gamers it seems, I have no interest in Artists, bands or actors being involved with games. In fact, all the stuff with Keanu, and others, being involved in Cyberpunk, put me off buying it long before it became the shower of excrement pulled from the store.
I guess I'm in the minority, either way, I like him but no, not excited.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Huge February Update Spotted on PlayStation Database, Should Be Out Very Soon

@Floki And? They were merely stating the game can cause screen tearing. That doesn't get away from the fact it's a hardware issue. I'm not saying the game can't result in screen tearing, on a PC with all their various settings, just that it's a hardware issue, usually when the GPU can't cope. So you would really really hope that on the PS5 it's not screen tearing because that would then imply the PS5 can't handle the game. If that's the case it doesn't bare well. But there can be other hardware sources in the chain that can also result in screen tear. Either way screen tear is a hardware issue. So if some users on PS5 are getting it and some aren't that would imply either faulty PS5s or something else in the chain because if it was just the game at fault everyone would be suffering.

@The_Real_JMK It doesn't matter what a simple internet search would provide, the internet is full of people giving advice about things they have no clue about. If you know what you are talking about you'd know that screen tearing is a hardware only issue. So either you are mistaking screen tear for something else or you have a problem somewhere in your setup.

Re: PSN Down for Some PS5, PS4 Players

@Jobless1 I had Stollen for Christmas as well. Very festive. Glad to see you weren't leaving your account out of the festivities, even if you did take it back. Can see why it got a bit annoyed. No one wants their stollen stolen.

Re: Trophy Hunters Rejoice! Ratalaika Has Arrived on PS5

@MuppetThumper I have no idea really what my total hours gaming are... But since they added times played on things recently I found out I'd put 1,760 hours into The Division 1. And I can't say that's my most played game. I'm not sure I want to know more stats like that. lol At the end of the day though it doesn't really matter how skilled you are as long as you enjoy it. But I do find it annoying when people say children are naturally good at games. My mate's children are good at fortnight but that's about it. I've never tried it. But they are in in awe of the trophies I've got off games they've tried and can't get the trophies. Age doesn't dictate skill but enjoyment beats everything.

Re: Trophy Hunters Rejoice! Ratalaika Has Arrived on PS5

@MuppetThumper Age has nothing to do with skill. I turned 50 this year. I've had this PS account for 3 and a half years (had another prior but the trophies don't pass over) and in that time I've got 107 platinums so far. Currently playing TLOU2 grounded on perma-death, to get those two extra trophies, just because I was annoyed they made the platinum on this TLOU so easy. lol

Re: Hands On: Ghost of Tsushima's Free Co-Op Update Defies All Expectations

@2cents Switch to WiFi or, if you can't do that, give your PS a static IP. The static IP won't stop it happening but reduced the frequency it happened for me. I gave up in the end and switched to WiFi. It's a PlayStation issue, not an issue with the game. There are suggestions it's caused by overheating. Not sure whether that's true but, for me, it certainly happened in some games a hell of a lot more than others.
