Absolutely 0 need for 8k unless you play on billboard size monitors. So not sure why it's even being touted as a feature. It's only for the type of people who'd buy clothes from the Emperor's new stockist.
The problem then becomes developers adding these pointless features, to appeal to such people, at the expense of other more worthwhile ones. Then we get games that don't run smoothly.

I guess they were placing all their bets on it picking up the Dead Space baton. DS2 did well selling 2 million in the first week and went on to sell over 4 million copies so I suppose they were hedging their bets they could top that. Still seems hell of a gamble, going on the devotion given to an older title. People are fickle and, with the way games have been hyped then released as a shambles recently, the majority want to see good reviews first.

@NomNom I'm not mad, just bewildered. I find streamers and people who watch streaming somewhat strange to be honest. It's the whole getting someone else to live your life for you.
Instead of experiencing it yourself you watch someone else have the experience. Just seems a little sad and pathetic.
And just because something is "mainstream" doesn't mean it's not odd. My question was more why should what "your friends" do be the decider as to what's best for the rest of us?

@Hurblyburbly Obviously, I think, the price will affect it somewhat as the reaction by a lot of the people on here, when the price was announced, wasn't positive.
I tried the first one, a friend has it, and yes it was kinda impressive but not enough that I wanted one.
To be honest, although my friend sings its praises, and says he's getting 2 "eventually", I can't remember the last time I saw him playing it. I think he's too proud to admit he made a mistake. 😂 But that's just my take.
My personal opinion is it's not going to end up being supported that well but there will probably be a few really fun games.

@Hurblyburbly If you can afford it have fun with it. If you're using money you can ill afford then you'd be absolutely silly to invest in PSVR2. I think anyone who knows about the gaming industry realises VR will only ever be a cult thing. Hence you'll never get big developers fully behind it. Especially in today's climate, with no big change in the foreseeable future.

Merry Christmas all. I'm playing Miles Morales, saved it till now when I realised it was Christmas themed, Lego Harry Potter (with Christmas red brick enabled) and Train Sim 3 Holiday Express.

Glad to know I'm not alone in my love of TS3. Looking forward to playing this Christmas evening. My brother's getting me this.

I've already got most of these but doesn't worry me. There's so much else to play. I'm exceedingly happy with Extra and am signed up for years to come.

I read throug this a few times but couldn't see the changes to "previously unavailable activities in Invite Only lobbies." Anyone spot those?

@NinjaNicky The point of the game is stealing cars, not blowing them up. The clue is in the name.

I'd really like to support and pre-order this but with the way the industry is I'm going to have to wait for reviews. I'm not paying good money to be a game tester and play inferior versions of games. So hopefully the reviews will be good because this looks amazing.

Looks nice enough. Shame about the vocal. Think that'd have me tearing my hair out after,...oooh... about 20 seconds.

@OrtadragoonX It's always going to have been it's own game. That was part of the initial announcement 1168 days ago (not that I'm counting). But how do you know it's not been abandoned? There's been no word on it, that I've seen, in a very very long time.

At least we know now. Just wish Naughty Dog would do likewise and admit Factions has been abandoned.

I'm absolutely fine with it. Compared to other leisure/pleasure activities, and their price increases over the years, gaming is dirt cheap.

@GreatAuk That's exactly it. Same as you, I also have books that I hold dear and haven't watched the films when they've come out. And I certainly don't feel like I'm losing out as I haven't allowed my experience to be soured.

Last of Us is my most loved game so I'm not going to watch this but hope it's a good telling of the story for those non-gamers.

From the little I've seen the graphics looked awful, animations appeared janky, the script seemed diabolical and the voice acting terrible. Yet scores have been sky high. The gameplay must be mind-blowingly amazing to warrant those scores.

@Titntin Couldn't agree more with everything you've said. I'm subscribed to both Extra and EA and I think, between them, the value for money a year is extraordinary.
Going Microsoft's route may seem appealing but what happens if they win out. Are they going to continue to bankroll projects when they've got no competition left, of course not. Thankfully I don't see their approach working anyway.

Call me strange but I'm very happy with Extra, subbed for a few years, and really don't care about Day-1 releases. I don't expect them and I don't think it's good for the industry.

Guessing this is aimed at little girls. At least it looks better visually than the usual my-pet-pony type rubbish that seems to fill the PS store.

IMDB "Full Cast" lists are full of uncredited people. It's the way these things go. Credits these days are nearing the lengths of a full TV show. There has to be a limit.

It's heart warming when developers do this. Like when Bethesda immortalised one of the game's fans, who'd sadly passed away at a young age, as a character in the Nukaworld DLC.
