Re: Sony Sued for 'Abusing Its Dominant Position in the Console Market'

this lawsuit won't go any where , but on a side note , i've been a big fan of the attachable hard disc drive. whenever i had an issue with a video game console , its always the disc drive, its much easier being able to replace that part yourself then having to send in the entire console and more then likely get a replacement console instead of getting it fixed.

@Darude84 i never said there was anything wrong with that , the part i was pointing to is people saying , well why isn't this game on there yet? that was my point if you want to play it that badly then you buy it , trust me i have tons of free games from epic games , gog games , amazon prime , ect i haven't really played much of but of course i claimed them lol

@Flaming_Kaiser oh i won't disagree with you on that , but also there were some great games on ps2 , but there were like completely random games hundreds of them that people never touched or played because they were just shovel ware random games. but those types of games still are out there. sony showed off plenty of them at their summer state of play , sword of the sea looks great and its a ps+ game. i wish people would support those games more like they did back in the ps2/ps3 days.

@somnambulance i think you completely missed my point or didn't bother to read what i wrote, thats fine. They brought in outside studios and created a whole new studio for those remasters though. lay offs are actually pretty common in the tech industry as a lot of them are only brought in to work on a single game , when that game doesn't get made those people are no longer needed. they can't make games that don't sell any more. you can keep this mind set all you want , i'm not stopping you , but like i said you can't compare an era of gaming that was clearly impacted by shutdowns delaying games for years vs other era's that didn't have these issues.

@somnambulance i didn't really mean to single you out , but it was one of the first ones i saw, but people keep bringing up the first party thing, but you can't really compare game development now vs older consoles. why? games cost more then ever , development time is longer , meaning they are less likely to take risks. not to mention having a pandemic didn't help things.

Re: Days Gone Dev Hit with Layoffs, Loses 30% of Staff

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare gaming has changed over the years though. having strikes , a pandemic , has caused delays with a lot of games that would have come out much sooner. not to mention the increasing costs of game development , its harder to take risks on games with big budgets. back then they could make games like resistance , killzone and infamous , and make a decent return even though they didn't sell well. but that would be much harder now. at the same time it does seem like they are investing more into international games , phantom blade zero and lost soul aside both look amazing imo. as for the layoffs , most if not all of these jobs which i explained in another post were people hired for the game that was cancelled, they are most likely on a 1 game contract , and with that game not being made they lay them off.
