@get2sammyb i don't understand this page sometimes , wasn't it this page that confirmed naughty dog was working on a 2nd game along with intergalactic ? unless the last sentence just ment that only 1 of them is announced at the time.

@Nightcrawler71 people keep saying that , but weren't people over paying for it at launch just to have one? honestly i don't see it slowing down any time soon with gta 6 coming out ( assuming it actually comes out).

@UnlimitedSevens i don't understand why the ps4/ps5 cross period upset any one , its not any different then gpu's in a pc , a older gpu can play a game , but obviously the new stuff will always play the game better. i mean if you really had to pick between playing the ps4 version or the ps5 version the ps5 version will clearly be better. as for the handheld if the rumors are right , which you should always take with a grain of salt, then this would be able to play im guessing the same games the ps6 can. which means ps4 and ps5 games including ps6 games. which is why they have added low power modes in games for the handheld. just imagine being able to play say resident evil , then you can jump back in on the handheld play and then jump back on the console later on.

i just hope this energy keeps up so i can get both the handheld and ps6 at launch then u guys can go back on it and go crazy trying to buy one lol

it depends what kind of game you are looking for , its not a open world space game like no mans sky , but i think its pretty good for what it is.

@HRdepartment i know u are joking but i have so many hdmi and power cords , in fact thats the one thing sony hasn't changed on any of their consoles is they use the same exact power cable on every single console they've had, when i switched out my consoles on my tv i just unplugged it and used the same cord lol.

@LowDefAl i feel the way some people talk about the ps5 is how people talked about the ps3 back then except numbers wise the ps5 has been way more successful then the ps3 , and that the ps3 actually sold very poorly in software and it wasn't till the back end of its life that it was able to sell more hardware but it struggled its first couple of years to even get to that point, as much as i loved the ps3 back then , it was also the console that almost killed the sony console brand, and people seem to either forget that or gloss over it.

@Nepp67 if they were moving away from psychical games they would just simply stop making them. also that cost of the disc drive would be built into the price of the console , so either way you are either paying it to be in the console or you have the choice to even have it at all. in fact if its 80$ they probably would make it 100$ more expensive with it. Even with the disc you still need to download updates, and data anyways , so just having the disc doesn't even mean much as it used to.

@Nepp67 not really a detachable disc drive would benefit people who still buy physical , whats the first part that normally breaks? its the disc drive , would you rather send your whole console in to get fixed or just swap out the disc drive?

on a side note people are still to worried about something thats not even an official.

honestly to make every one happy an interesting concept would be to have 2 maybe 3 if possible , but idk how possible it would be to have 3 hard drive slots , but like the ps5/ps5pro have hard drive slots , and have ps6 consoles with out a hard with only built in memory for the os , and then the hard drive slots to play games off of , meaning its up to the buyer in how much storage they are willing to pay for. also i love the idea of the detachable disc drive as it makes it way easier for people to just fix their own consoles vs sending the entire thing out to have the disc drive fixed.

@AnginaPectoris i'm sure there will still be plenty of tv's for sale , they make more then what they sell , i bought a a90k tv this year and its pretty amazing. i said it in another post i'm sure they'll keep the higher end bravia tv's since they do well and sony still has some say as they are part owners , but i'm sure you'll see some lower tier and mid tier price tv's in their line up as well.

@SuntannedDuck2 the price is going to decrease when the parts are more expensive. every gaming console will increase in price , xbox already did.

@Atreus97 we just have more instant access to news now then ever , but honestly people being laid off and studios closing has always been a thing in the tech industry , this isn't new.

the irony we all are missing is the fact that people spent over 1,000 dollars at launch to buy from resellers just for the base console, not to mention but sony has held off this long while everything else went up in price, but we all knew it was going to last forever.

@gigiard babylon fall was doomed to fail when it kept getting pushed back with delays to being a ps4 game to being a ps5 game. it had promise but never lived up to any of it.

lets worry about all the great games coming out for the rest of the year then a console that hasn't even been announced yet , i get every ones excited to talk about how much they hate or love the idea ps6 , but it hasn't even been announced yet even though we all know its coming and sony has tip toed around their next console ideas.

@Member_the_game i think they've explained this multiple times but they have a lot of readers from the states as well, which is why they use dollars as well.

@RudeAnimat0r i hate to be that guy but spending 600 dollars on the ps3 back then is the same as spending about 950 to 1,000 dollars in 2026 , and yes we are getting old to where we are starting to say these things.

@Bigumamiflavor by no means i ment no ill will , and if it came off like that i apologize , my point in my rambling , is that a lot of times , just like many other times in life we look back at certain times differently remembering they were better then they actually were if that makes any sense. each era had their own struggles , and this was no different , imo sony has been able to navigate past the struggles and still had a pretty decent console , and honestly playing on the pro has kind of brought back me to enjoying gaming again.

@PuppetMaster i feel like Housemarque is safe , they've made the more successful games , if anything they are expanding and growing bigger and bigger each game. lets face it some studios have struggled to be at the level sony is expecting them to preform at with the budget they are asking for.

@Vaako007 i also feel like a lot of people who grew up playing video games still play them , but their parents had the income to buy them these things, but now these people are the parents and lets face its , things aren't as easy as they expected them to be , but they still want to play video games. and well video games has always been a pretty expensive hobby it was always a luxury hobby. i mean i'm sure you saw the article how expensive major games cost , and thats the type of games people want and expect but they don't want to pay for them.

@Bigumamiflavor its almost like they released a console during a pandemic or something , also people keep mentioning ps3's first party exclusives , you mean the ones that no one bought? games like resistance and killzone struggled to sell 1 million copies, the only success series had was uncharted and last of us.

i think people need to relax , 1) the ps6 isn't even a thing yet , and 2) no one actually knows when its coming. 99.99% of people are just guessing or assuming they know. so this is all hypothetical , till anything is actually announced.

@HRdepartment my bad I read there might be a price increase around that time but it is coming , physical games 70 but digital is staying 60

@Americansamurai1 I’m guessing you haven’t seen pc prices as of late , alot of videos out there , you would need at least a 2,000 pc to get similar results as the ps5 pro. But pc prices are insane now

@Faultandfracture I hate to tell you unless prices start to go down , which are only increasing by the day , idk how a 500 pc is even possible when the ram alone will cost 300-600 alone

@KoopaTheGamer I mean parents clearly over paid for ps5’s from scalpers upwards of 1,000 dollars just to get their kids a ps5. So I don’t think that would stop them.

@Droopy i would take all of that with a grain of salt , until sony officially says anything about the ps6 , i wouldn't take it more then opinion pieces.

@Gabrielmpf if that was the case why didn't they raise the price months ago ? didn't you notice every piece of tech with ram has gone up in price? sony had bought ram before the price hike which helped the prices stay down for a while , but they are clearly running low , so either they stop making consoles or the price goes up.

adjusted to inflation a 60gb ps3 in 2026 would have cost 930 dollars

@Gabrielmpf please explain your theory to the class , what does a monopoly have to do with the rising cost of parts? and sony has been able to keep costs down till now but the base ps5 is same exact cost of a xbox series x now.

@knight_spg i feel like they'll gloss over what we say , and ignore it and still not understand , the fact that sony has been able to hold off this long is a plus , but once that stock ran out , the new ones had to be increased to off set those costs.

@Fritz167 i'm guessing however many they made they are still selling and prob won't make any more , i'm guessing if they did go back to produce more it would go up in price.

@Bamila i have bad news , but everything in tech is going to be increasing in price , in fact the ps5 was the last console to increase in price as the base ps5 will cost the same as a xbox series x again. you do understand that the hardware prices are going up for everything right?

@trev666 if a photo mode breaks or makes you buying a game , do you actually play the game or take photos or do you even use the photo mode?

@Runex2121 the only good thing is , if the issue is with the disc drive you can get a replacement or buy a new disc drive instead of a new console.

@user0 when prices would decrease that would be in part that the parts inside where cheaper to buy , but in this case the parts are more expensive. its either the price of the consoles go up or they stop making consoles

@TrollOfWar i love the ps3 , i still play it , but people acting like the ps3 was great while calling the ps5 the worst console is kind of crazy , when the ps3 almost killed the sony console since it was difficult to develop games for.

@Chosen-Libra honestly i was kind of considering upgrading my pc which is a 3060 with 32gb of ram , which is still pretty decent in 2026 , but after playing my pro with the updates honestly i'd rather just stick with playing on the pro then upgrading just yet , maybe i'll change my mind in the future.

@Foxhound its always been expensive lol , which is why video games have always been considered as a luxury hobby. if you count for inflation gaming hasn't gone up that much , n64 games back then were 70-80$ a game , which would translate to 145-160$ a game in 2026

@PuppetMaster i feel like they are safe , as they are releasing high quality games , and the keyword is they are releasing them , while certain studios have put years into their projects with nothing to show for it.

@Nicekix the article says that dark outlaw games weren’t working on a live service game though , twisted metal would have been cool but I’m pretty sure it was never an offical game , I’m gusssing that the Spider-Man thing was from the leaks because that was never an actual thing as cool as it would have been. But you do ignore the fact that Sonys more popular live service game would actually be gt7? I was excited for last of us though so that’s one I can agree on. I can imagine the marvel fighting game being successful though.
