@Grumps859 i liked days gone but most people called it an average game , and normally games that are just average aren't going to get a 150 million dollar budget.

@Vivisapprentice they are also working on a remake of splinter cell , and ac:black flag.

i wanted to try out the lego game so i'm pretty excited for this.

honestly was this really a shadow drop when there are articles every week trying to predict or had some type of rumor when the game was coming out. eventually they guessed so much they had to eventually be right? hopefully the gta4 rumor happens or a fallout 3 or new vegas remaster also happens.

honestly i don't really buy much into rumors these days , take everything with a grain of salt, i always wait for these things to be offically announced.

@Dan12836666 you do know that single player live service games are a thing like gt7 , no mans sky , or assassins creed , fighting games are also live service , street fighter mortal kombat.

if you are going to go with whatever story you are weaving in your head sure. but between covid shutting things down , amoung many other things you can't compare this era with others. also i don't think you bothered to read what i wrote? they hired people for the live service stuff , you can blame it all you want on that , but thats not reality. who says they are even working on last of us3

@Mintie i mean its going to be cross gen either way since ps5 games are playable on ps6 , but i'm guessing they would be able to have a ps6 patch or update that would enhance whatever ps6 features they'll have thats not announced.

@Striker21 the studios expanded for the live service games though , which is why naughty dog laid off a lot of those extra hires when their live service game was cancelled , so it didn't really take away from single player games. i would say the covid shut downs impacted a team like naughty dog more , along with a few others , in at least one of their games would have been out by now, but they also have stated that they are currently working on a 2nd game along with intergalactic.

@LikelySatan not gonna lie i still play ps3 once and a while i always have a spot in my tv to have it hooked up , but a lot of ps3 games didn't age well , they run really poorly compared to modern games , have bad controls.

@11001100110zero honestly i enjoy civil back and forths , i think of people always agree on everything it kind of makes things boring. i'll suggest when linus has his custom pc thats supposed to be compared to a steam machine i think he'll show you can get something smaller , better , for about the same price. even with all my doubts and questions about it , i still think there will be some people that will be pretty happy with this, i have a friend that wants to get into pc gaming , but with out really needing a dedicated gaming rig like the one i have. at the end of the day it really depends on the price, and hopefully they are taking the feedback they've gotten so far into how the final price will be.

@StitchJones linus said hes going to build his own to compare , not sure if hes building it stronger or the same specs , but it should be interesting in how it comes out. like what you said , idk who this is even marketed towards tbh. maybe they are going to price it based off of the reactions.

@11001100110zero i think you touched the head on the biggest question about this thing, is it a console or is it a pc? it can't be both. and it all comes down to the price as well , if its priced too high then its just a pc that is not upgradable , if its a console and its priced too high , then its an worse value imo then a digital ps5. the other biggest question is how many games at launch day are actually playable on this thing. having a steam deck , only so many games are fully playable currently so not every game is compatible with it. which goes into the next question , why would you even wait around for this thing , when you could just build a pc that is 1) upgradable , and 2) actually more powerful then this thing , that you can hook it up to your tv to play games on.

honestly the more that comes out about it , i still can't see who this is for , i guess its a simple pc for those who don't really care about having a pc and don't really need games to look really good. but i think if its priced too much , then i can't really come up with much of a reason to not just build a better pc that you can upgrade.

@4fold realistically you can already build a mini pc currently and have something you can actually upgrade and use for more then just gaming. this thing once it gets outdated its useless , you can't upgrade it. which makes it actually worse then a console.

@tangyzesty there was talk that starfield was getting a pretty major update when it gets ported to ps5

@wildcat_kickz i do respect where you are coming from with all of this and you are really well spoken , and by no means am i trying to change any ones minds or opinions about this topic. Like you and i both said , its free , so by playing this you aren't really supporting anything other then the developers for the game , ( or that's how i see it). i wouldn't really be surprised if the they had plans with " if we could make dlc " this would be the dlc. so if it was the developers dream to make this dlc and bring their vision to life , i think thats a win for them since they were able to get it funded by some one else making it free for every one.

give me the fable trillogy or at least fable 1 on ps5.

@VeganH honestly i feel like thats what they wanted watch dogs to be when they first created it , as a modern day assassins creed since it did have references to the ac series tucked away in it , that it had taken place in the same universe ( modern time story wise).

@wildcat_kickz I get your point , and that's fine. But at the same time that is the area where the game is located in, so it makes sense in that ubisoft had this idea for dlc if they were going to make it for this game , and pif said if you make it we'll fund it for you since its taking part in this country. i could see if they went out and charged money and had it completely funded for them then i would have an issue with that.

@commentlife i hate to say this but it won't, if people were that into pc gaming they would have a gaming pc they would be able to upgrade this isn't upgrade able. also i don't see how it would be competing against playstation when its only sold in one place aside from resellers selling on amazon or other market places.

i feel like its mostly for mobile , and people would still complain saying , " why are they putting mobile games on ps5, this isn't a ps5 game at all".

i haven't finished the last few story modes , so i guess i'll go back and finish those instead, but it was a disappointment when i installed bo7 and saw it was online only for a story mode.

@arsmolinarc i mean they announced the theme and everything and people were expecting a major aaa announcement like god of war in a japanese focused state of play?

@Neonix they are bringing in mobile gaming studios for these , none of these games are replacing or taking away resources from other games.

i'm sorry but people need to accept that there is a massive mobile gaming market they can get into , and the fact some games are just not marketed to them and thats okay.

@ILikeStake with all that being said , i still think its an interesting device , i'll keep an eye out on it, i already bought a steam deck ( funny story by selling csgo skins i got it for free pretty much) but i don't really use it as much as i expected to. and honestly im gonna suggest it to a friend that was considering getting a gaming pc , but he just wanted to play steam games with out spending too much money on a rig.

@ILikeStake i don't really see it taking over the console market with something that less powerful then any of the consoles currently on the market other then the series S. i give it maybe 6-8 million units which would be pretty good for them tbh. you also have to take in the part that they only sell these things on their store , other then resellers selling them for more money on amazon and ebay.

@ILikeStake but who is this for? i mean you can buy a pc right now more powerful for slightly more money then probably this would cost , that you can upgrade , but once this is outdated you would have to buy another one which i guess which makes it like a console. i bought a gaming rig 5 years ago , and i could prob go 4-5 more years with out touching it. i guess it would be good for people that aren't into consoles but that don't want to fully commit to a full gaming pc. but thats just me this whole unit is confusing in who they are marketing it to.

@VeganH eh have you seen it in action? i would suggest there are plenty of videos of it out there. after seeing this in action i have no idea who is it for , if you have a gaming pc , you already have something better already , if you have a console like a ps5 base or pro its already better then this, going from a ps5 to this would be a downgrade.

@ILikeStake its upscalled 4k not native. , its the same as saying , " the xbox series S is gonna give the ps5 pro/ ps6 a run for its money." maybe watch the digital foundry video to see it in action but at this point it very much isn't even a thought for sony tbh. i mean if you have a pc already with any thing from the most recent years , you literally have no reason to buy this.

@species at that point if thats what you really want just get a pc that you can fully upgrade instead of a pc box that you can't do anything with in terms of upgrades.

@ILikeStake df already did a hands on video , its bellow a ps5 and above a xbox series S , they didn't know who this was for as its not really the 4k 60fps machine they are advertising. honestly i don't even think the are marketing it as something to compete against a ps5.

@Bamila ya but the difference between a gaming pc and this is that a gaming pc you can upgrade while this is set to what its at and not upgrade-able.

@PHIISON honestly this feels like its for casual gamers who want to dip into pc gaming with out buying a gaming pc. i don't really see it being competitive to a playstation if its ps5 or ps6 as a base ps5 is more powerful then this.

@Major_Player i still think people have no clue what live service actually means when they hate it. i mean the marvel fighting game coming out thats a live service game , and gran tourismo 7 is their biggest live service game on the console.

@playstation1995 sadly as much as i'd love to see killzone back , we both know its not happening , if more people bought the games they would have never gone away. however i wouldn't mind seeing a remaster of the series though.

@ED_209 honestly i think you'll be surprised how soon it will be out , but that is just a guess on my part since nothing actually official has been said either way , so both of us are just assuming.

@Exerion76 while i love killzone , one , thats right one horizon game completely outsold the entire killzone franchise

its interesting , but i'm sure the next horizon game is being worked on currently hopefully we'll hear about that sooner then later.

honestly i think this is pretty cool , between that and the speakers this could be something i would look into.

the fact that the series is still going is a good sign , personally i wouldn't mind seeing a stand alone rivet game myself.

well it could be one of 3 , there is still an unannounced game naughty dog is currently working on along with intergalatic , there is also Santa Monica's Project With Corey being worked on that hasn't been announced either , and i'll throw in the dark horse that the next Horizon game is much closer then we think from coming out , maybe late 2026 or they'll hold it off as a ps5/ps6 game , i could also see at least at launch that ps5/ps6 games will be cross buy meaning you would automatically get both.

@Aventurier honestly i can't be the only one that that would be excited for this stuff , but i think its cool that sony has some branded monitors and speakers coming out.

its funny people still complain even though they announced the theme and what kind of games will be talked about at that state of play. yet i still saw people think despite sony saying it was a Japanese based state of play people were still expecting a western Triple A announcement that had nothing to do with the theme.

@Foxhound honestly certain games still make sense to have a ps4 version , because if you really look at it , i would think its the same as having a game playable on the series S and series X. so if people still have a ps4 they can still play but the best version will always be on the more current stuff , like playing a game on pc with an older 2000 gpu vs a 5000 series gpu.

i wouldn't be shocked if they release some where else first to fund the ports to ps5 , but i think they'll eventually be on ps5

honestly imo it can still be saved , sony takes over full sony studio which should have been done from the start , take the destiny franchise and make a solo story like game halo. you can even add in some mp stuff , with the story and lore from that series i think it could make a good single player story ip. or go all the way back either make a brand new oni game or remake oni from the ground up for the ps5.
