@TruestoryYep i think thats the problem people just assume live service means battle royale , or mulitplayer games , gt7 is a live service game , single players can be live service. A live service game is a game that gets regular content updates after launch, as opposed to a game that just releases once and the game is done.

@Artois2 i have all those games , honestly they would be beter with a remake / remaster for a better camera , controls , ect. those games didn't age well as ps3 games.

@Vladspartan a “true gamer” would know the only way to actually own a game is to buy it you don’t own anything gamepass or ps plus.

I’m sure Sony can see no one playing those games to keep some of them around. As for resistance I think we are getting a remaster/remake announcement soon

A pretty often over looked game just got another update gt7 has been a pretty successful live service game , not to mention years later no man’s sky is still getting updates.

@Dan12836666 i don't think she left ubisoft on good terms lol, also live service games doesn't always mean online multiplayer games , no mans sky is a live service game.

i love that snk games are getting some love in this collection , and of course power stone.

Give me a native ps5 version of god of war and let me upgrade my ps4 copy and id be happy

btw during the call they did claim that the prince of persia remake is still coming and is looking at a march 2026 release date. hopefully we see something from it soon , as it sounded like they started over from nothing from the backlash.

@KundaliniRising333 the final fantasy sword was my favorite sword to use in game , and the mission to get it was pretty fun imo.

@AhmadSumadi nah tariffs would only be physical goods i can't really see how a subscription price would change because of it.

@Jacko11 the day is still young , i can't see this staying open too long but they seem like they are on top of things atm. as for the pricing , i can't really see them raising the price of the ps5 this late into the generation , and not hold off for the ps6. i mean how many consoles are already over here in the states ready to be sold ? i'm sure theres at least enough for this year and maybe next year.

@Andee the one great thing about the ps3 was you can use any controller to play games on it, include the ps4 and ps5 controller , the only thing is the home button doesn't work on non ps3 controllers but every thing else works.

@shonenjump86 i can remember when games like virtua fighter first started showing up on sony consoles i never thought it was going to happen its like the same exact thing going on with ms putting games on playstation.

all i ever wanted was a full cross over between dead or alive and virtua fighter

@EfYI people don't buy new games and wait for them to be on sale but also question why sony isn't making new games.

@Bez87 yes and no , i feel like the older versions not so much but elder scrolls oblivion remaster proves that people would replay older game that have improvements , i feel like they have infamous , killzone , resistance remasters/remakes with improvements i think they would do well.

@Arkz but from the launch they said ps4 and ps5 does not have b/c and can't play those games , they never claimed it was coming , they never claimed or dangled a carrot of false hope. so i don't really understand why people keep bringing it up thinking it could or will happen when they said its not.

@PuppetMaster i highly doubt the ps6 will have this , i'd be happy with ps4 / ps5 bc which will happen. too bad they didn't go amd with the ps3 i think that would have solved a lot of issues with what we are dealing with now. but like you said , i still have a ps3 and some games are still playable , and other games including older ones don't hold up visually and game play as well. a resistance remaster collection would be very welcomed.

@ButterySmooth30FPS i actually just booted my ps3 up and got a software update lol i wasn't expecting another update in 2025 but here we are.

@djlard except its not really that easy. you just can't make the game magically appear on ps5 for those games , and the discs aren't readable either. it works because ps4 games are natively able to play on the ps5 , while the ps1/ps2/ps3 discs aren't. to be honest idk why this is still a topic in 2025 , because we know its not happening and sony has been up front about it.

@Vivisapprentice just out of curiosity , you said you have ps3 discs , i would assume you still have a ps3? if you don't why haven't you sold them?

@wildcat_kickz i can already answer that in that ps3 b/c is never coming.

@joeyflannel I don't think you understand what a live service game really is , it is a game that is continuously updated after launch with new content, features, events, or fixes, often with the goal of keeping players engaged over a long period of time. a few examples are , No mans sky , Assassins creed Valhalla , and yes Gran Turismo 7 falls under it as well.

reading some of these comments does make me chuckle a bit , as for the price , i don't mind spend the extra 10 dollars if you get bonus's content / in game items , ect , and i already know i'll like the game since i very much enjoyed the first game and put a lot of hours into it.

as long as one of them is a remake of the first game that desperately needs updated gameplay , cleaned up graphics , maybe not repetitive boring missions that are the same ones in each area.

having less time to play games , i already keep backing myself up with games i gotta finish up , i'll be playing them till gta comes out anyways, so i'm not too worried.

@Medic_alert yes and no. it means they'll only really push games they know that are going to sell and take less risks. luckily i don't think a game like ghosts will struggle to sell i think it will do well. but its also why they are milking horizon to death because it makes them the most money. one horizon game has made more money then the entire killzone franchise.

@Medic_alert that's understandable , but at the same time you can't really question why they aren't making too many new games these days if they aren't selling or making a profit. if every one waits for games to drop in price , they just won't make as many games , which is a pretty big part in why we are here.

@carlos82 that explains all of the sudden all these release dates are coming out , and some games moved their release date ahead.

it will be interesting going off of , how many consoles they already have here in the states , vs them needing to move full production of ps5/ps5 pro's that head to the states to japan production only. i could see a slight price increase assuming there would be one. but i don't think you'll see one imo. however the biggest issue is does this create a supply issue already for the ps6 ? or does it delay the ps6 to create more of a supply for launch which im okay if the ps6 doesn't come out till 2028 / 2029.

Sounds like a good problem to have this game looks amazing , glad it’s getting a lot of support.

@Nepp67 re3 was always the black sheep of the series , as it wasn't really a true sequel to anything, and the true sequel to re2 was code veronica which was sega exclusive for a bit.

@Nepp67 not true , the re 2 and 3 remake were in development for years with village (re8) , they have mulitple teams working on these games they could easily be working on re5 remake and re9, it sounds like they've both been in the works for a few years now.

at the end of the day , if you want a game bad enough you'll still buy it , if not , you'll pay a monthly fee to pay to rent it. but the issue is people complaining games get removed , when you are basically just renting them and don't actually own them.
