@ear__wig honestly i think thats the best way to go , as if the disc drive has any issues , a quick replacement of the disc drive would be a lot easier then having to send the whole console some where to get fixed.

i'm guessing they'll just make an attachable disc drive like they did with the ps5 pro, which is the best route imo if they do that.

honestly i'm not surprised the ps3 store was always the worst one and it was always really slow. but i'm pretty sure this is just for closing the store down and you can still download the games and play them.

@Bizzy they kept it open for 20 years and gave most people an entire year advance notice if they still plan on buying games. the ps3 store is super slow , i'm surprised they've kept it open this long tbh.

@GamingGod you have a whole year to still buy them from now till 2027 in july ( assuming you are eu or usa). so its not like they didn't give plenty of time lol.

As long as they allow retailers to sell digital codes then i'm fine with this. they stopped letting amazon sell digital codes for a while now, hopefully this changes things.

i'm going to be honest but when they announced the game , they said it wasn't even started and was years away , like it was a 2029 or 2030 game. im guessing they went to a lot of these studios to see their progress , i'm guessing there was very little to no progress. i can see why they are pulling a big reset.

@ShadowRJ honestly with the landscape of gaming i think a lot of them will be fine , look at some the new start up studios some struggle , but the dawn of the bloodwalkers is looking pretty good so far. it will be interesting how the landscape of gaming will change over the next few years who gets picked up ect.

@PuppetMaster i feel like summer would be perfect as typically there aren't as many big name games around that time , but isn't ff7 p3 also summer , so that would be interesting.

correct me if i'm wrong but did we talk this much about the ps5 before it was even announced.

i enjoy my series x its actually a pretty good console, however they need to stop with this non sense , it doesn't take rocket science to know the ps5 is going to destroy the xbox in sales for gta , there is like 60-70 million more ps5's.

@awp69 i get it but sony pulled movies from their store in 2021 , almost 5 years ago. how much money do you think sony is going to spend to keep the licenses when movies can no longer be purchased? yeah it sucks , but i doubt sony is going to spend millions on this.

if you are upset with sony , it sounds more like the movie studios pulling the license to the movies , so legally sony has to remove them from the service.

i'm not sure why any one would care if there is a disc or not , a game this big the disc would pretty much be a key you'd put in every time to play it.

@1970sGamer it wasn't like this for the longest time , i'm glad this page is getting more engagement , but it feels like we are getting people that were banned off of other pages , so they had to come here.

im pretty sure he's talking about marvel tokon , which is a live service game. honestly from always reading comments on here i feel like some people think live service is just fortnite and br's. gt7 is a live service racing game.

I feel like the biggest mistake was if you were going to buy them it should have been 100% from the start , it will be interesting the direction they go to with them being fully 100% in control over the team now.

unless the figure a way to make ram faster or more abundant , i don't think prices are going down any time soon.

@Skinny-Pete i mean you aren't wrong there was the ps3 / ps4 / and ps5 version of gta 5 lol. i mean i waited 13 years for this moment so i'm getting it at launch. i said this in another comment , gta gets so many updates , you have to install most if not all of it anyways.

@MikeOrator at that point there will be so many updates the disc would be useless lol and most of the data will be downloaded / installed anyways. pretty much every game these days the disc is just used as a key to activate it on the console.

2027 already looking pretty crazy i think veronica remake could come out around the same time re9 did so maybe feb or march , so if this comes out around the same time that gives two bangers to start off the year. i still have no clue how im going to end up playing and finishing all these games , i just went back to control to try to finish up taking a break from bond.

@SystemAddict i'm guessing that people want the box , which makes them happy , and they don't have to print out millions of discs , and i would assume if there was a disc the game would have actually cost more money. do you want a 79 dollar game or a 89 dollar game with a disc.

i'm going to be honest , those places are just using this as way to advertise and market their game shop , which is pretty smart on their end.

honestly a nice trailer would be good but i hope they don't show off too much of the game , i feel like these days when they show off the game they show off way too much of it.

@Stonecold730 as long as we don't have another pandemic during the ps6 launch i think we'll be fine lol. i remember the ps4 launch going pretty well and there was never really any shortages for a long period of time. i remember getting on a list to preorder the ps2 when it came out and i had to wait around 8 to 9 months to actually get it.

@get2sammyb i mean at this point its the same as pc, if you have a lower end graphics card , like a 2000 or 3000 gpu , you can still play games but obviously a 5000 gpu and anything in the future will still play games at a high quality.

@Mes_Urson not sure why you are just focused on sony , when all tech is up in price , anything that uses memory , ram , is all increased in price. these companies aren't going to start taking major losses to keep the console prices down.

@Th3solution people keep saying these things , but when the ps5 came out , people were paying double or more to get their hands on one when it came out. so saying people won't pay a higher price isn't exactly true. it just means less scalpers would be botting and buying them up if it starts over 1,000 + dollars.

i hate to break it to people but its not going to get cheaper , it could even possibly get more expensive the way things are going. i have no idea who this is for though.

the crazy part is the ps6 is still not even officially announced. i'm sorry but there is way too many assumptions and rumors that get floated around about this , but no ones offically said the ps6 is coming ( we all know it is coming ) and when it is coming. 2027 was just assumed the whole time , but i would think they would have announced it by now if it was next year , i think it will be officially announced in 2027 but maybe 2028 release at the earliest. the thing is , why not release it when holding it off , could actually make it cost more and not less.

@dodgykebaab i think the removable disc drive is way better because its easier to replace the disc drive then sending the whole console out to repair if something happens to the disc drive.

@AI-Generation i feel like that's what gets most of the attention because people see that the most but things like pssr , or frame generation , is great examples of ai used as a tool. i feel like if they keep investing into pssr and keep evolving it , those things could make the console less dependent on the hardware and more focused on the software helping get the most of the hardware.

@AtomB because they are a console company and make console games they tested the waters with pc , and clearly the results that happened they didn't like , so they are stopping. they never claimed any more games were ever coming to pc.

@tameshiyaku honestly i thought the ip was dead , but seeing them make a new game even bringing back dawn of dreams , i love to see it , just need a remaster of part 3.

@BusyOlf the remakes line up looks like re: veronica , then re:0 , then re1, so it looks like we'll be getting more Jill eventually.

@Bamila i doubt they would delay it , and then change it even more , the delay would be in hopes the prices would go down. changing the hardware would have to completely start over.

honestly if they use ai as a tool and we can get games much faster , then i'm all for it , also i've seen plenty of praise on this page for pssr 2.0 which uses ai based tech. thats a good example of using ai to improve games.

Idk why this page has turned into a sony hate page in the comments , but literately studios from other companies close all the time. also if the studios don't find a buyer , they'll be shut down. ms isn't doing this as a favor , they are trying to make their money back from selling them.

@Porco im guessing the remake would come first then dmc 6. just a guess.

@PuppetMaster so far the rumors are pretty spot on , but like any rumor should always be taken with a grain of salt , but devil may cry looks like its going to be the next series to get the re engine treatment , dmc 5 already is built on it , but we'll see a dmc1 remake i doubt they'll stop at 1 and we'll eventually see dmc 6 at some point.
