ANTHEM's got a brand new trailer, and it sheds a little more light on what you can expect to do within BioWare's upcoming sci-fi adventure. Alongside missions that take you out into the wider world to shoot stuff, you'll also be building relationships with characters in town. Apparently there'll be choices to make, which can alter the outcome of certain scenarios.
While it's unclear just how deep these interactions are, we suppose it wouldn't be a BioWare game without some degree of player input. At this point we're just hoping that it all comes together when ANTHEM releases in February next year.

this game is going to be riddle with loot boxes n microtrans.. pay to win, f*** that very much, u know u cant spell stEAl without EA....

Still a bit unsure about Anthem, I was disappointed at first that it was a bit of a Destiny clone but it looks like it does do a lot of stuff right. Really hope there's some kind of public beta/demo on PS4. I'd love something like Destiny that offered more singleplayer content for your money.
I used to love BioWare, but this isn't what I want from them. I enjoyed their games because of the stories, interesting characters, squadmate interactions, and gameplay that all came together for fun and memorable single player experiences. For me it boils down to the emphasis placed on multiplayer. I am not interested in playing online multiplayer anymore. My life just doesn't allow that sort of investment.
They can mention playing solo all they want, but this is simply designed as a multiplayer experience. The elements they are trying to stress in this trailer can only be so deep. If anything, it will be BioWare-lite and you can play multiplayer by yourself if you want.
I don't have time for all this big open world/service games, I wish this game is a normal 30-40 hour rpg like mass effect, but this looks like ea version of destiny
Super excited for this, looks better everyone I see it!
@pimpjuice there won’t be loot boxes, only cosmetic micro transactions where you get exactly what you pay for, and all cosmetics are also available by purely playing and not spending any money.
You are simply out of date with the current state of this game.
@topic, I’ve been following the game closely. While I find BioWare to be a bit too secretive and not able to properly market the game so far, I do have the feeling this game can become a very good one. It is just a challenge for BioWare since they are trying something new and I hope it works out for the .
I am very interested in this game. I like the aspect of co-operative online gaming with friends to tackle the most challenging content together with a squad. I am glad they aren't doing a PvP - at least at launch - as that allows the weapons to be 'powerful' without being OP or feel 'weak' against others. Also, I can see certain Javelin(s) being essential in a PvP situation to survive longer where as in PvE, having a balance would be more beneficial.
I know everyone is drawing the 'Destiny' clone argument but this seems more 'Monster Hunter'. In Destiny, the tower is a Social and shared Hub but Fort Tarsis is a Single player area, an area where story, missions and important interactions occur. Decisions you make change so your Fort could well be different to others based on your choices and interactions.
The world also seems a lot less 'static' than Destiny too and the worlds also look a lot more 'organic' and full of life. There is a lot more wildlife for a start and the movement is a lot more 3 dimensional as you can 'fly' as well as go under water - thus giving more verticality where as Destiny is much more limited to the 'Horizontal' axis. The reason I say its more 'Monster Hunter' is because you can have instant drop in/out of friends so you don't have to play co-operatively and can join 'randoms' to tackle events in the world or just carry on doing what you were...
It amazes me how many hear 'online' and think that means they have to play with friends or that 'randoms' will invade their game and constantly be killing them or spoiling their experience somehow. Seeing other Guardians in the shared world of Destiny doesn't negatively impact on your game - they could easily just be considered as other friendly NPC's doing similar jobs to you in the world. The only difference being that they have 'gamertag' names instead of more 'realistic' names...
I enjoyed Destiny so I'm sure I'll like this. It's not exactly screaming 'must buy', though.
@LaNooch1978 Papa ea want those destiny $$, and what papa ea want, papa ea get haha. Of course now the trend already shifting to free to play with cosmetic battle royale game.
But seriously, just imagine the possibility of mtx in this one.
@LaNooch1978 @wiiware @Cheski @SegaBlueSky Agreed guys just never cared for multiplayer and even if I wanted to, don't have the free time for such games anymore.
Here's hoping the next Bioware game will be single player again...
Loved Destiny 1; hated Destiny 2 - Will Anthem be what Destiny 2 should have been and more? I really hope so, cos I wanna fill that multiplayer sci-fi shooter sized hole in my life. Will certainly wait for a while after release though; remember D2 got good reviews on release
looking good, this and DIV2 are going to seriously dig into my 2019 (im backing DIV2 to come out on top at the end of the day)
I'm still looking forward to this and hopefully, it does for me at least the same as what Destiny did. In a good way of course.
