If you're unhappy with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's lack of single player campaign, Battlefield V has just flaunted its solo offering. War Stories makes a return from Battlefield 1, this time highlighting several untold tales from World War 2. Check out the new trailer above.
Here's the official blurb from EA: "In Nordlys, resist German occupation in Norway, sabotage behind enemy lines as an unlikely English soldier in Under No Flag, fight for a home you've never seen in Tirailleur, and in The Last Tiger (available in December) join the crew of a Tiger I as they question why they fight."
It looks like a diverse range of miniature campaigns, featuring snowy mountains, muddy war zones, and tank battles in the desert. Hopefully DICE is able to tell a handful of great stories with its single player, and this trailer looks pretty promising.

Really doubling down on this female thing. Thought it was a tomb raider trailer for a minute.
I like the lady character's design. She looks cool.
At least it has a 'campaign'. Can't say the trailer really did a lot for me though. It also seems as though BF5 was focussing on females as a statement to all those who were critical of female characters in the MP - not that it bothers me as this is a game first and foremost - not an historical documentary.
Maybe its just that I am getting old (or should that be much older compared to a lot of gamers) but CoD nor BF5 are particularly appealing to me. Single player is important to me - always was with the MP more as something to do after campaign and to get 'more' from the game instead of putting it on the shelf (or trading in as some do) after finishing the story, something to do in between game releases and to play with friends. Now it seems that I am not playing a lot of MP at all and favouring more 'co-operative' than competitive online experiences.
Lara Croft before she became a tomb raider?
I got about an hour and a half into Battlefield 1's campaign and jacked it in so I'm kinda over Battlefield, but since Call of Duty has abandoned single player I may pick this up one day for a bargain.
I'll be honest after the last BF game i pretty much gave up on the series, it was boring and this trailer while it looks nice didn't really do anything to change my mind
still at least this game actually HAS a Single Player mode to show off I'M LOOKING AT YOU C.O.D
I got a bad feeling this is just bf1 war stories with a wwii setting.
@johncalmc Man i loved the BF1 campaing what are you on. 😁 😜
This trailer looks great im happy i preordered. 😃
If you support single player mode campaign. Vote with you wallet!.
@munkondi What do you mean? It looks great something different i dont see the problem.
I got Origin Prime Access, so I get it anyway. And I got a RTX card, so I will gladly try out ray tracing in this game.
Also I loved War Stories in BF1 and what was shown in the trailer looks even more interesting.
If it's anything like battlefront 2s miserable campaign mode then they may as well leave it out.
Oh no, they have really messed this thing up with more diversity, all I want is a decent game to play and get involved in, I always start off in campaign mode at all levels it gives you a chance to get the feel of the game, but this, really
