Re: Crimson Desert's Mandatory PS5 Update Sparks Debate About Games Which Break Street Date

springer17

The breaking if street dates is a supplier/outlet issue moreso than a consumer one, so why shouldn't you get to play a game that's been delivered ahead of time? It's not as if you've broken any laws to get the game early, and you shouldn't be held back from playing something you bought just because the delivery got messed up.

Plus then what happens if the required update is broken, or you lose online connectivity before the release date hits and then can't play the game you've paid for? Physical games should be playable without having to be connected online, simple as.

Re: Europe Is Putting Harsher Age Restrictions on All the Things You Hate About Modern Gaming

This'll only stop the children themselves being able to buy the games. It's a positive change, but as others have pointed out, it won't stop parents letting their kids play games they shouldn't. I know for a fact that a number of parents at my kids' primary school let theirs play GTAV, and they couldn't (or shouldn't) have been able to buy it for themselves.

Also just the ability to turn off the microtransactions/loot boxes isn't enough info, how easy is it to do so? Can it be undone just as easy? Can the kid just turn it on and off as they like?

That's like saying "I don't like the screaming in metal music, they should release a version without it". I also don't do scary games, but I simply don't play the games I find are too much for me. I don't have a right or necessity to be able to play every game that releases, so I pick the ones I am likely to enjoy.

Plus, I have discovered that watching playthroughs of horror games is something I am able to enjoy, so I just find a youtuber I like and treat it more like a watchalong movie party.

A shame to see the industry in this state, if smaller scale studios keep going under we'll have nothing but huge 'blockbuster' releases with a price that keeps increasing, and indie titles that have to compete for exposure in a saturated market. I hope, but don't expect, it'll improve soon.

Re: Opinion: The Euphoric Reaction to PS6's Rumoured Delay Really Confuses Me

With such a range of quality on the PS5 already, I think we 'd benefit from more time for games to reach a higher average level on the current hardware. Then we can see more of a proper jump for PS6 when we're hitting the top end of what the PS5 can do.

That and a lot of people won't be able to afford one with financial outlooks as they are at the moment.
