It's exactly the same as having to detail the history of the sausage roll before earning the right to shop in Greggs. You've all had to do that, right?
@katamariUK Funny but I was completely the opposite, I got rid of Shadows because I just didn't feel like I was enjoying the story or gameplay, but Tsushima I've played through multiple times it had me that hooked. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
I don't have enough faith that the game will be good enough to justify this price. I'm hopeful, but I am waiting for launch. At least it actually comes with a copy of the game.
I normally play these with English dub so I don't have to read the subs to understand what's going on (busy household with kids) but if it's that jarring I have no problem switching it up.
Death Stranding went so much into the realistic graphics that this is probably the best way they could have gone with it. I never got into the games but I like the world so I might watch this, whenever it comes out.
I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I do, as I never really got into any of the Far Cry games and only have a passing interest in the movies (I've only watched the first one) but I keep coming back. I'm working through the first DLC at the moment. It really is a gorgeous world and flying around on an Ikran just doesn't get old.
I don't agree with the idea of an improved version of a home console. If you wanted it to be better than when it released originally, you should have put more time into development and then released the best version later. If it's enough of a jump in tech, treat it as a new console generation. Stop releasing slightly improved variations on the same system like mobile phone companies do, we don't want that.
I think the fact that I (among many others) have put hundreds of hours into the Horizon games and it took me reading the caption under the images to realise they were from 2 'different' series speaks volumes here.
I understand that in a creative bubble it is possible for ideas to be independently very similar, but they were definitely not creating this game in a bubble and Horizon has been around for years.
I am excited for it and having played the last 2 multiple times you can really see the improvements they've made to this one, not just in scale but in graphics and QoL.
Hell Is Us is much more my style of game so I was always going to get it, but I can see how something like Silksong suddenly dropping gave them a tough decision to make. I think they're different enough games that most people wouldn't have thought twice about getting both if they wanted to play both at launch.
Persona 5 Tactica is a decent game, but I already have it on Switch. The only other one I've got a passing interest in is Fate/Samurai Remnant, so I'm glad I can give at least one game a go this month.
@Shepherd_Tallon I know what you mean, I wasn't sure how close it would be to the kind of FromSoft frustration before I played it, but I haven't found it stressful at all. The combat is decent, if a little repetitive, but spread out enough that I haven't found it annoying yet, and the rest of the game is just layers of mystery and intrigue. It's really got it's hooks in me and I can't think of playing anything else at the moment.
@Fiendish-Beaver I'm loving Hell Is Us as well, it's been a while since I played a game that isn't a soulslike but still has the complex quest design without map or objective markers. I enjoy being a bit more relaxed in my exploration.
Is this the real reason publishers wanted to delay their games? They knew the popularity of Silksong would crash the stores, so people wouldn't actually be able to buy their games even if they wanted to.
Psychonauts 2 is a good get, I'm not interested in Stardew Valley myself but I'm sure plenty will, and I love a puzzle game so I'll try out Viewfinder. But yeah, only 1 of them being native PS5 is disappointing.
I sincerely hope so, but with the amount of time and lack of news we've had with this game until right before release it's a sales pick up for me either way (unless genuine reviews and gameplay come out and it's absolutely fantastic)
Mirage was good for what it was, a trimmed down AC experience, but I've got everything I wanted to out of it and no amount of suspicious DLC will get me to return.
I played Legends in Tsushima a couple of times, it's something that some people may get a kick out of but not something I'm particularly interested in. Glad it's there though.
I'll just wait until an inevitable 'Complete Edition' is available and on sale at some point. This did interest me when it was announced, but I'm almost a decade older now and it's lost a lot of its appeal.
@CriticalHit I was going to say this exact thing. Why would anyone be unhappy that someone else can enjoy the same things as them? More multi-platform releases please!
Scummy practice, potentially detrimental to these creators' careers by making it appear they've said things they absolutely haven't. Today it's marketing a dying game, but what else will companies do knowing this may work on many people?
From not really liking it at all to recently completing all 3 endings this excites me greatly! Hopefully they use everything they learned and use that from the start.
I found it after a bit of searching, it is a separate product on the store but it was free. Downloading now, never got round to finishing it so I want to give it another shot.
I consider myself lucky that I haven't run into any hugely disruptive issues, just some occasional freezing that works itself out after a few seconds, but some of the other fixes noted here will be welcome.
Lies of P is definitely the highlight for this month. If you have even a passing interest in soulslikes then give it a go, I bounce off a lot of them but I loved it and the DLC.

Re: Good God, Crimson Desert's PS5 Collector's Edition Costs a Whopping $280

Re: Code Vein 2 Adds to an Increasingly Stacked 2026 PS5 Release Schedule
Code Vein was the first soulslike I ever played to completion, so I obviously have to get this and do the same.
Re: You Know What's Scary? Halloween Announcing Its PS5 Release Date Nearly a Year in Advance
You know what we need? More asymmetrical multiplayer games based on horror IP that will inevitably shut down within a couple of years.
Re: Onimusha: Way of the Sword Still Looks Sick, But We Ain't Sold on That English Dub

Re: Ghost of Yotei Gets Yet Another Trailer, This Time Showcasing PS5 Features
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes, absolutely psyched for this to drop through my door next week!

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Adds DLC Clans to Base Game Following Backlash
Hooray, we got the right result (that should've been the original plan, but whatever)
I'm still not buying until I see some reviews, I have no faith that this will be worth getting.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for September 2025?
Persona 5 Tactica is a decent game, but I already have it on Switch. The only other one I've got a passing interest in is Fate/Samurai Remnant, so I'm glad I can give at least one game a go this month.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 598
Finishing up the platinum for Hell Is Us (hopefully) which will likely be most of my weekend, but I may partake in some Space Marine 2 if I have time.
Re: An Unthinkable Amount of Mega Man Is Coming to PS5, PS4 in New Star Force Collection
I loved the Star Force games and it's ridiculously expensive to get the original DS versions nowadays. Instant buy for me!
Re: Digimon Story Time Stranger Demo Out Now on PS5, Save Data Carries Over
Downloading now, I am so looking forward to trying this one out!
Re: Memorable PS3 Rhythm Shooter Beat Hazard Returns to PS5, PS4 Later This Month
I now have a reason to keep all of my game soundtracks on a USB drive again, huzzah!

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (August 2025)
Sword of the Sea by default, but if that hadn't released last month I wouldn't have bought any 'new' games at all.
Edit: Not to say it's not deserving of it, I really enjoyed my time with it and am planning on another go through and maybe the platinum.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Release Crashes Storefronts Like Steam, Finally Live on PS5, PS4 Over Two Hours Late
Is this the real reason publishers wanted to delay their games? They knew the popularity of Silksong would crash the stores, so people wouldn't actually be able to buy their games even if they wanted to.
Re: Hell Is Us Guide: All Main Quest Puzzle Solutions
I'm not reading this, I will solve all of the puzzles myself (quietly bookmarks page)
Re: Hell Is Us (PS5) - One of the Best Mystery Experiences on PS5
Loved this from the demo, I was already intrigued but I preordered immediately after playing it. Can't wait to get it this week!
Re: These 18+ New PS5, PS4, and PS Plus Games Are Coming Out Next Week (1st-7th September)
Hell Is Us! Got the deluxe edition preordered, can't wait to get further in than the demo and really see what it's about.

Re: Claim This Free PS5 Game in PS Store Cock Up
Saw this this morning, 'purchased' it, will probably never play it, but free is free.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Beta: All Start Times, How to Play, and What's Included
Definitely giving this a go. Interested to see how similar it is to previous Sonic racing games, I did enjoy them, particularly Transformed.
Re: Lost Soul Aside's PS5 Platinum Won't Be a Walk in the Park
If I pick this up (too many games, not many money) then I will not be going for the platinum then. And that's ok.
Re: The New Assassin's Creed Mirage DLC Isn't Suspicious at All
Mirage was good for what it was, a trimmed down AC experience, but I've got everything I wanted to out of it and no amount of suspicious DLC will get me to return.

Re: PowerWash Simulator 2 Has a New Trailer Just to Announce Its Price
This was going to be a definite buy anyway, but it's nice to know it won't break the bank.

Re: We're Sold on Digimon Story Time Stranger Thanks to This Rideable Digimon Trailer
It just basically has to do what the previous games have done while looking better doing it and I'm sold.
Re: Preview: PowerWash Simulator 2 Is Bigger, Better, and as Satisfying as Ever
The feature I'm most looking forward to is the split screen multiplayer. Now my wife and I will actually be able to play together on the same console.
Re: Claim a Bunch of Free PS Plus Avatars with These PSN Codes
Claimed but won't be using, they're not great. I'll be sticking with Brok.
Re: Hell Is Us Free Playable Demo on PS5 Confirmed, Arrives Next Week
I have been very confused as to what this game will be like to play, I'm glad I'll get a chance to try it first. More games need demos.

@Can-You-Believe-Sith I will try and be the first but inevitably become the second when I can't figure it out.

I consider myself lucky that I haven't run into any hugely disruptive issues, just some occasional freezing that works itself out after a few seconds, but some of the other fixes noted here will be welcome.
Re: Free PSN Avatar Collection Incoming for PS Plus Members, Featuring God of War, Cyberpunk, More
I normally stick with my boy Brok but I'll have a look at these and see if any look good.

Re: Expedition 33's Magical Art Book to Be Fully Revealed This Week
This game is beautiful, it deserves an art book to celebrate that. Would love to get this, but it depends on the price.
Re: Phantom Blade Zero Looks Utterly Outstanding in Over 20 Minutes of PS5 Gameplay
Another I am very excited for this year. I like the sway away from soulslike, it'll at least feel a bit more unique in the sea of similar games.
