This was the first PS5 game I played and by god I loved it. The spectacle, the world, it was so fantastic. I sold it after completion but I am potentially going to pick up the DLC and jump back in for another go.
FFXVI was the first PS5 game I played, I was happy with it but ended up selling it before the DLC came out, so I might pick that up as well for some more time with it. KCD and Blades of Fire are what I'm most interested in, KCD always had me intrigued but intimidated so I'll happily try it out and see if it grabs me.
Even as someone who primarily buys digital this is stupid and needs to stop. It's not a physical game if it doesn't function as a physical game without additional services being required.
I don't know if this is a way to improve the perceived values of the service, so they can add fewer games to the platform but advertise that they've got new title added 'every week'. A pointless change, other than the fact that I will now probably try the games and uninstall them weekly instead of within a few days like I normally do.
I'll inevitably reinstall for another run thanks to the new content, Elden Ring is a game that I don't think I'll ever be truly finished with (until an eventual sequel anyway).
As long as it's simple enough to go back into previous stages to explore/search for the advised 'collectibles' then great. Games don't have to include everything or last forever.
Absolutely ridiculous, there's literally no benefit to playing a single-player game early. And the benefit to playing a multiplayer title early equates to a literal pay-to-win model. So all in all it's something that needs to just die.
I looked at a few of these and a lot are 30min trials. I don't know if that's enough to convince me if I'll enjoy the game enough to buy it (for most, obviously some are quick enough to get to the main meat of the gameplay)
Give me Infamous 1&2 remakes on PS5, with Second Son and First Light given a bit of a polish up as well and I'll be there, ready for lightning to strike twice.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: physical media purchases should function on their intended hardware without the need for an online connection. This nonsense has to stop, because essentially you're telling physical purchasers "We'll let you have the thing, but the thing doesn't actually work when we sell it to you."
Are they going to 'internally organise' (read: fire) any of the decision makers involved in this failure? Or will it only be the people who were forced to work on it? Don't answer, I think I already know.
This just makes me wonder how many people expect every game to be evergreen. It's fine for a game to be finished and to move on. If you love it that much, play it again. Sure it won't have the same effect, but I'd rather have the choice to relive the experience than have more content shoved down my throat to try and keep me coming back.
Sucker Punch have likely put out as much as they intended to without piling up additional cost to continue working on this FREE additional content. Now they can move onto something else they can actually sell, without nickle-and-diming those who still want to put time into the Legends mode.
I would have been very happy, but I already own all but 2 of the Extra titles. I'll give Bramble a go as it has turned my head in the past but never actually got round to getting it.
A great month, aside from the fact that I own all but 2 of them already. Glad others will give them a go, The Thaumaturge is my recommendation out of these options.
Unfortunately we're unlikely to see exactly how they use any AI until their next title launches. I hope it's not used in anything creative, but if they're advertising specifically for an 'AI artist/creator' then I think that's pretty clear.
@Haruki_NLI Unfortunately I think you're right. Businesses will business, and the aim of a business is to make money. See something that will save you money (i.e. allow you to fire people so you don't have to pay them) and they'll definitely want to go down that route.
@For-Kier I can't speak for Crimson Desert as I've not played it, but you're exactly right with Elden Ring. Every location had a purpose, even if that purpose was just to look at the beautiful world as you ride through it, so it felt like the world made sense to be that way.
I agree a lot of games feel 'too big', but it's more than the size/length that matters. If I feel like all I'm doing is running through an empty world to get to the next story beat/quest location, the game is designed poorly. If I feel like I'm stuck in a small area and can't get out and see the wider world, the game is also designed poorly. The size of the game doesn't matter, it's the quality of what's in that space or what that space means contextually, and there's room for both large and small games if they're designed well.
Charging extra for skins that should be unlockables in the base game is scummy practice, but while people still buy them, companies will still charge for them.
Can my male large-build character wear these as well? He'd look lovely with his cleavage out like that.
But seriously, there was nothing wrong with the design philosophy they took in the last game. Armour should be protective, and these wouldn't protect from a papercut. Hopefully they'll have an equal amount of sensible options as well.
Wolverine is my most anticipated release of the year to come, not just September. I am very excited for Blood of Dawnwalker, Phantom Blade Zero I have to see a bit more of but I'm tentatively quite excited for that was well.
I bought Wuchang at launch but bounced off of it so I sold it. I'll give it a go again after some more experience with other soulslikes. Nine Sols is one I've been interested in, and I have no interest in football. A good month for me.
I enjoyed Greedfall, but I'm yet to go in on The Dying World as there have just been too many games in my backlog that are similar. I'm actually playing Steelrising at the moment, it's decent (especially the setting) and I expect I'll go through to the end. It's a shame to see any studio go under, and I hope those affected can find other work and continue in the industry.
I really want this to be good, because I REALLY want a good sci-fi RPG to match up to what Mass Effect used to be. I've played many games with bad voice acting before, sometimes it can be ignored, sometimes it's enough to sour the experience, so I hope this is either the former or it gets fixed before launch.
While I'm all for protective measures to ensure younger players aren't using features they shouldn't be, isn't that really something that should be up to the parents? If you're old enough to be the controlling owner of a console, then most likely you're old enough to use all of the features. If someone younger has access, it's either on your account (so the restricted features wouldn't be blocked anyway) or it's on a child's account, where all of the communication features are blocked by default and need adult access to be worked around. Case in point: my 9yo uses my PS5 and only ever plays what I have allowed her to play and is always under supervision, so people need to step up and parent so these kinds of verification measures are 100% unnecessary.
There are so many ways they could approach the story for this film, and so many ways they could screw it up no matter which way they go. I will remain hopeful, and play another 400 hours of Elden Ring while I wait.
Will definitely be trying Warriors: Abyss and Monster Train. Squirrel With A Gun looks like it could be a brain off, press buttons kind of good time, and I've already played the rest that I'm interested in. All in all a decent month.
It wouldn't surprise me if this was always the intended name, and calling it Pickmon was just to drum up some discourse so people actually cared about the game in some way.
One of the most recognisable voices in the business, but why would him doing the advert want me to play a game without him in it? I'll just go play ME again, or watch Spawn, if I want to hear more of his voice.
LotF is a great get for any soulslike fans who haven't already played it, and I've already got TR so I might try SAO if the mood takes me. Decent month if you've not got any if them already though.
