I love when they do this, once I've got the full game I just want to jump into the actual game, but my character has to be right if I'm gonna be staring at them for potentially tens of hours.
I love it as well. It's got a fair amount of jank that you'd expect from an Elder Scrolls style game, but the design and world have pulled me through it. And once I'm finished with the main story I will be getting the DLC.
I feel AC has lost its identity in the last decade, and if the series went on a long hiatus it wouldn't be missed (not arguing with the quality of what has been released, just that it's the same as a lot of other games in structure).
I hope he gets what's deserved if it's found that Ubi were underhanded about it, it's not nice to be screwed over by an employer.
This is one of the most deliberately idiotic decisions. "Hey, these people have spent more on their console than others, but we won't give them the same experience as everyone else when we bring out new options for said console..."
Picked up Jotunnslayer in the current sale so giving that a go, and it's got me hankering for more Norse mythology so I've redownloaded Hellblade. Who knows, I might even finish it this time...
I'll be giving Epic Mickey a go, it's been on my wishlist for a while but never cheap enough to bite. Turns out 'free'* is the price I was waiting for.
Whether 'crunch' is unfair or not is dependent on what the reason is behind it being needed. If all the employees are performing their jobs to the expected level, then the requirement for mandatory overtime is due to mismanagement (inaccurate estimates of time requirements, lack of staff, inefficient workforce allocation, etc.) so it's not fair for the everyday workers to have to put in excessive extra hours to make up for that.
I really grew to love the last game, so much so that I eventually got all 3 endings (not the platinum though, that was too much busy work) so I am very excited for this.
Wo Long is one of the few soulslikes I've bothered to platinum, it's a very good game. Mirage is worth a go if you like the old school AC more than the new. And I'm very glad I've kept myself from buying Granblue in previous sales.
While I see the benefit of both the individual artist and the overall company to use AI to speed things up, I don't think we should get rid of the disclaimer about it being used. It's about choice. If the use of AI changes your mind about purchasing a product, that's your prerogative.
It's similar to caged vs free range eggs. Fundamentally the product is exactly the same, it's just the process used that was different, but should we just label them as 'eggs' and be done with it? Or do we want people to have more information about what they are potentially spending their money on, depending on their personal preferences? I'll stick with being able to choose, in this instance at least.
I try not to think of the platinum when I start a game, but once I find that I'm enjoying myself I can't help but chase for it. I love that trophy sound, so any game that rewards me for already having fun is good in my book.
My first platinum (out of my measly 32) was Spider-Man (I didn't start playing PS until PS4, and that was late in the generation) and it just felt natural to get it as it was for doing everything I wanted to do in the game anyway.
Lego Horizon's fine, but I gave up on the platinum because it was just a massive grind. I want to try Neon White so that's cool. The others I can take or leave.
For a new IP or indie game where there's no anticipation for it, shadow dropping could easily leave it to go completely unnoticed. But for a highly anticipated sequel/remake/remaster where the name is already known and popular it can work well, as we've seen.
Of course rumours and leaks help build hype, but they can also take the shock out of a launch.
Empyreal is currently 67% off, might bite on that one as it's been sat on my wishlist for a while. Other than that I got the Tiny Tina Season Pass for £5 as my wife and I play that together quite a bit.
I got to the post-story part and enjoyed it, but not enough to see it through to full completion. Maybe a DLC or major update would bring me back in, but I don't see it happening.
If they took the Premium requirement away from cloud streaming, especially for games you already own, I would drop down immediately. I enjoy using my Portal too much now though, so I guess I'm stuck paying for it.
This being F2P I will definitely be trying it out, and I have been cautiously looking forward to it, but also skeptical that it would stick the landing. Looking forward to giving it a go this weekend.
Rolled credits last night, definitely going for the platinum. Hopefully this is another step against the dreaded live-service push when it's understood that players want these strong single-player experiences.
I think a better thing would be for a commitment from the developer/publisher to state a minimum term online-only games will be accessible for. Before you even start development, decide on a length of time you are committed to keeping the game running, and make that clear to the consumer. Then if someone looks at this and decides to buy a game having that information, they do so knowing it is not guaranteed to be available beyond that point.
If a game is popular/successful enough to extend that, fantastic, but knowing you have a minimum amount of time with a game when you buy it (unless it can be given indefinitely) would at least be better than the likes of Concord etc.
I'm yet to finish Yotei (no fault of the game, I just don't want to finish it too quickly and other games are being played) but so far I'm on the side of Tsushima. That game felt like a breath of fresh air when it launched, so it's sat much better in my memory. Yotei is fantastic, but it's very much as described, an iteration on what made the first game great. Maybe once I'm finished that might change, or if I go back to Tsushima, we shall see.
I didn't even think I was going to get one at first, but since I did it's been a regular part of my gaming habits. So much so that I got the 30th anniversary version and it'll get even more use with the new update.
This is what I wanted from the Portal, full cloud streaming and a nice update to the UI to boot (the old menu was horrible). This will be updated when I get home.

Re: Make Your Code Vein 2 Character on PS5 Now, So You Can Get Straight to the Action Next Week
I love when they do this, once I've got the full game I just want to jump into the actual game, but my character has to be right if I'm gonna be staring at them for potentially tens of hours.

@Ooccoo_Jr Cutting out the middle man and just moving to straight up theft. It's a bold move, I kinda respect them for it.

Another RPG I've been anticipating, it'll be an instant buy for me. Busy year again it seems.
Re: Crimson Desert Goes Gold, Ambitious PS5 Open Worlder Locks in March Release Date
Cautiously optimistic, but I can't shake the feeling it's too ambitious, especially having played Black Desert Online.

Re: Amazon's God of War TV Series Casts Its Kratos, Story Setup Revealed
I'm glad it's someone who already has a connection to the series, at least he's already experienced the world and the characters in some way.
If they bring Thor in played by Christopher Judge that would be freaking hilarious.

@Toot1st Not just kids, but who would pay the price of a game just for an AI to play it for them, rather than watch someone else do it for free?

We'll stop calling it 'slop' when it is not presented as low-effort, money-grabbing 'slop', thanks.

@wilky2988 TBH Expedition 33 is more the type of game I like to play, but Elden Ring has had me way more hooked, even now so long after I started it.

This is a better outcome than I could have ever guessed, new Divinity! Hell yes!

Re: PS5 Players Ponder Avowed Port as Xbox RPG Delays Its 'Biggest Update Yet'
