CI Games has provided us with a fresh look at its upcoming action RPG sequel, Lords of the Fallen 2.
Check out the new gameplay trailer below:
It marks the second year in a row that It's a Sin by Pet Shop Boys has appeared during The Game Awards, the first being Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. That doesn't really mean much, but it stuck out to us as we sat, bleary-eyed, at our screens at whatever the heck time it was.
Anyway, Lords of the Fallen 2 is looking great. It's building off of the developer's progress with the previous title, which has received a huge amount of post-launch TLC to get it in a better place.

It seems the game is leaning into its brand of bloody action with some brutal execution moves on display throughout the trailer.
There's still no release date in place yet, but it's coming at some point in 2026, and it can be wishlisted now via PS Store.

LotF 1 (technically 2) has been on my backlog for ages, but dang 2 (technically 3) looks really good. Might have to move this up my backlog list.
I started playing Lords of the Fallen and couldn’t get into it. Suffers from the same muddled storytelling that Souls games suffer from. Just feels directionless. Add that to the maddening difficulty and there’s absolutely no appeal.
The last one (2023) was an unbelievably pleasant surprise. It’s a top tier souls-like imho and I will be picking up the sequel day 1 out of appreciation.
I need to get to LotF1. It’s been on my radar since first revealed, but the state of the launch build was unplayable. I think it clocked in @ sub-540p base resolution at spots. Hopefully it’s been optimized with patches by now, and I’m really hoping this new one isn’t a technical disaster when it launches. The game itself looks pretty good, let’s pray the tech is up to par.
The last one was really good, closest to the Dark Souls games, but unique enough on its own. I am looking forward to this one.
I liked the first one , I was crap at it but I liked it, im hoping they put an easy difficulty in this.
@Balaam_ completely different game now, if you like souls games you'll love it, im not very good 😂
Remember pre ordering the remake and gave up playing it... Came back at version 2.0 and was a completely different game. Now that they updated once again i might give it a second try
I really grew to love the last game, so much so that I eventually got all 3 endings (not the platinum though, that was too much busy work) so I am very excited for this.
I like the grimdark aesthetic and character design, but after the disappointment if the original Lords of the Fallen, I never revisited the series. I know it was improved upon, but is it much more than a B- tier soulslike?
The first one was up there with Lies of P as one of the best non-fromsoft soulslikes. I'm so ready for this game
PSB has so many good tunes, why does everyone choose the same (very overplayed) one? :-/ Game look fun, although I need to play the first one first.
I'm very much looking forward to this and seeing what the v2.5 update of the (sort of) first game brings. Looks like they're borrowing glory kills from the recent Doom games, which I'm not a fan of. I'm hoping there's not a huge emphasis on that in actual gameplay, but I will be purchasing on day one either way.
Despite work on the first game post launch it still looks awful btw. And this is on ps5 pro.
@graymamba absolutely was astounded by this. Has the best level design and art direction of any non fromsoft souls like
It's actually the cover of 'It's a Sin' by the band Ghost 👻
This looks pretty fun but it would be a waste of money for me because I sick at souls likes.
@Balaam_ when lotf launched it was a bit ropey but I never saw the resolution drop at all..it had frame rate dips and some screen tearing but the devs were on it super fast and it was sorted in a few days. Everything that was a bit iffy was super over exaggerated to the point I was actually laughing my arse off at some of the bullsh*t I was reading. I can't wait for this one.
I just finished this a few weeks ago since it left Gamepass at the end of November and I wanted to play it before it left…I try and play all the soulslike games and this one I had a lot of fun with, def better then I expected but that was prob because it was the revamped 2.0 version when I got around to it and I went in with zero expectations…like someone said not quite as good as Lies of P but I’d still easily recommend it…I’ll def be checking out LotF 2 at some point after it releases
I loved the first one especially after the updates veteran mode seems quite challenging so I’ll stick with the original version 🤣🤣🤣🤣In case anyone is wondering who is singing in the trailer that’s Ghost
