I'm pleased, this sale has finally brought the price of Pillars of Eternity 2 down, it's not had a sale for so long.

Looking forward to trying this when it comes to the network test, not sure if I'll bite on the full game yet. Love ER but roguelikes & multiplayer games are very hit and miss for me.

No, players want good games with good mechanics and good writing. I've played it (and got the plat) and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't up to the standard of previous DA games. Yeah I had fun, but I would have had the same amount of fun if it wasn't labelled as DA and was its own thing. That's why it didn't do well: it wasn't good enough to be regarded as necessary by either those who love the series or those who have never touched it.

What do you mean everyone doesn't want an additional arbitrary account to have to use to be able to play games, which also limits access to those games in countries where they can't sign up for the account? Who knew?

I'll check out High on Life, not bothered about the other 2 but Payday 3 will do well with the multiplayer.

It's very rare that I will buy a game on launch anyway, and it's normally the more budget titles as there's less investment needed, so this would absolutely stop me from buying any game at launch if the prices went that high.

Please say this is true, I need this game in my life again.

Gaiden being added saved me a £25 purchase I had planned, I was considering trying out Atlas Fallen since the Reign of Sand update, plus Anno: Mutationem was on my list to play on Switch, so now I can play it without having to pay any more for it. A great month for me.

I like the use of the time loop in the story, like someone's playing the game and has to restart each time the character dies. Whether it'll end up any good however, we shall see, but I won't hold my breath.

Edit: Unless the light bar prompt appears and I have to stay really still, anyway.

Compete in a business sense? Yes. They occupy the same entertainment space and will try to get as many people to choose their console/games as possible, and that's an either/or rather than both for a lot of people. Compete in specs/power? No, but they don't want to and haven't worked with this as a target for a long time.

Like others have said, and I myself also do, a lot of people will own and enjoy both.

And I was just about to buy Like A Dragon as well, glad I held out. Some good additions this month.

Rather a delay to maybe have a better experience, wasn't planning on getting day 1 anyway.

Doing the tasks encourages me to play different games occasionally so that's neat, and free money is free money. The rate you earn points is ridiculously low, but it's better than nothing.

@dskatter I liked the designs, this might drive me to pick them up if I see them around. But yeah, not surprising at all given the complete lack of solid updates for so long. Shame, it looked like it could have been decent.

Always rest mode, unless I'm going away and won't be playing for a while. Otherwise I always like to get games downloaded while not using, and I use the Portal a lot.

Seems like a fair enough point, don't add things for the sake of them being there. If what is being added contributes to the overall game experience, go ahead, if it stands out in comparison to the other content, it has no business being there.

I'll give it a try but I bounced off Genshin, Zenless and Nikki pretty hard, so will see if this does enough to keep me.

Tried the SS trial but wasn't interested enough to buy it so I'll give it another go. Hot Pursuit is great on Switch so I'll have another go on PS, and Stanley Parable is well regarded so a decent month for me.

I have played and enjoy both, as well as many others that didn't get the award. Why do people take personally something that is completely arbitrary like an award? Players like your game. Players have bought your game. Don't act like you're the only developer that's put hard work and planning into the release of your game.

Getting Amaterasu in Astro Bot was one of my favourite moments of the year, and this announcement caps it off. Cannot wait!

This could be my holiday game of 2025 if it doesn't trip over itself in future reveals

I only recently played Astro Bot and I immediately got the hype, it was just pure gaming fun and celebration. Metaphor is my personal favourite of the year, so happy to see that get a few gongs, and Balatro is so addictive and succinct it had to be recognised as well.

@Vega37 others have gotten away with doing that exact thing. Temtem has cards, Coromon has spinning discs, Nexomon has 'nexotraps' (which are even red & white ffs) so it's not unheard of.

If the balls are a problem, simply remove the balls. Easy!

This and Sea of Stars are 2 of the best old-school RPGs of recent years, glad to see it getting some more content.

I am tempted, but with the queueing issues and the fact it'll be free (and hopefully with much more added) when it hits full launch then I can't justify dropping money on it at the moment.

Though with the season pass being on sale at the moment I may pick it up.

Of course the month after I buy Temtem it drops on Plus. Ah well, it's a decent enough Pokemon clone, so with more people playing it'll be nice.

I'd definitely be interested for the right price. If it's too expensive then it's not worth getting over a Steam Deck or similar, but if they go the cheaper route it likely wouldn't be able to run the same games as whatever console they're on by then. It's a balance, but I will say I've played my Portal a lot more than I'd expected to, especially with a family sharing the main TV, so any way to make that more versatile and not so reliant on an internet connection would be appreciated.

@Darude84 That's my plan, don't want to pay more than I have to for it. Especially since I'm never 100% sure it will work well enough until I actually try it out.

This has me seriously considering going back up to Premium. Dropped to Extra as I wasn't making use of all the features and the classics catalogue, but with this opening up a lot more options for play on the go I may just have to go back.

Might have to upgrade to premium with the new update to the Portal and a discount.

Might go back and give Grime another go, it seemed interesting but I never really gave it enough time.

I'm in agreement, as much as I loved playing SotE it cannot be considered a separate entity as it's reliant on owning and having played a lot of Elden Ring. Give it it's own DLC category and it wins hands down, but would anyone say the Valhalla expansion from God of War: Ragnarok should be eligible for entry? It's technically got an even lower bar for entry considering it was also a free addition. No, because it's an add-on, not something that can be experienced as its own entity.

Easily my favourite AC game, but having completed it twice already do I really want to go back in for another go? Maybe.

@Judal27 Ishin's not set in the same timeline so you'll be fine to play it with little knowledge. I jumping in and I've only played Like a Dragon.

Other than that I'll be trying Killer Frequency and Dying Light 2, I never stick with plus games to be honest though, likely be a 'try for a few hours and then give up' like most other months.

Looks great, but it's not available to buy for me (UK). Added to the ol' wishlist for when it is.
