Torn between Yotei and E33, but I think E33 clinches it because it's just so refreshing to see a new property come out swinging so hard and nailing almost every aspect it went for. Yotei is great, but it was building on greatness so it was easier to get there.
@mctaboo I think that one was the trophy that put me off getting the plat initially. Thanks for the advice, I'll focus on that one first and if it becomes too much of a headache I'll call off the whole thing.
@thechetearly As much as I don't like the idea of anyone losing their job, I have to agree. At least it's someone making the decisions who is feeling the effect of it.
This game is remarkably good, it's basically alien Far Cry and I enjoyed it all. I won't be going back in as I've got the platinum and done everything I want to do in it, but it's good to see such a big update so far down the line.
What's most surprising is that this even made it to release, but you could tell it wasn't going to stick the landing if it eventually did. Glad I wasn't holding my breath for this one.
@Nightcrawler71 My thoughts exactly. Patches, fixes, updates, new content, fine. But I shouldn't be kicked out of my full-price single-player game if one of my kids pulls out an ethernet cable.
While I understand that there are a lot of these games that may end up looking similar to other popular franchises, does that mean I can take the face of any character from any game and use it wherever I want?
So they'll cancel a game where the main character is basically required to be black because of the story they want to tell, and directly oppose the racist views held at the time, but shoehorning that into other games where it's mostly there to meet a quota is fine?
These are the kinds of stories that need telling for video games to be held in a serious light, but apparently they're too risky for publishers to commit to.
@ShogunRok I think Yotei's opening is more tailored to being a sequel. Most of the people who play this will have played the first game, so they just want to get into it without the drawn out buildup. No world to introduce, no setting to explain, just "Here's your motivation, now here's the game"
I can't travel to an objective without being sidetracked at least 3 times, and that's exactly what I want. It makes me feel less like I'm being told a story and more like I'm playing the character, which I imagine is what they were aiming for.
No, I enjoyed Mirage for what it was but I was done with it over a year ago (and I got on it late), and a government-funded expansion isn't going to change my mind.
GoT remains one of my favourite games of all time. The story, the characters, the world, and most importantly the gameplay all felt better than most games I've played in the genre. It wasn't perfect, but what game is? If Yotei is as close to that level as reviews are saying I fully expect it to be among my favourites as well.
It's a shame it's not as much of a step up in quality as it seemed to be (and the demo suggested) so I think this is one I'll wait to pick up. At least that means it's not fighting Yotei for my time, and I still go back to the Cyber Sleuth games every now and then anyway.
A gambling character lines up well with the AAA gaming space at the moment, as it's a gamble whether any new release will actually play or run well on any system.
It's exactly the same as having to detail the history of the sausage roll before earning the right to shop in Greggs. You've all had to do that, right?
@katamariUK Funny but I was completely the opposite, I got rid of Shadows because I just didn't feel like I was enjoying the story or gameplay, but Tsushima I've played through multiple times it had me that hooked. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
I don't have enough faith that the game will be good enough to justify this price. I'm hopeful, but I am waiting for launch. At least it actually comes with a copy of the game.
I normally play these with English dub so I don't have to read the subs to understand what's going on (busy household with kids) but if it's that jarring I have no problem switching it up.
Death Stranding went so much into the realistic graphics that this is probably the best way they could have gone with it. I never got into the games but I like the world so I might watch this, whenever it comes out.
I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I do, as I never really got into any of the Far Cry games and only have a passing interest in the movies (I've only watched the first one) but I keep coming back. I'm working through the first DLC at the moment. It really is a gorgeous world and flying around on an Ikran just doesn't get old.
I don't agree with the idea of an improved version of a home console. If you wanted it to be better than when it released originally, you should have put more time into development and then released the best version later. If it's enough of a jump in tech, treat it as a new console generation. Stop releasing slightly improved variations on the same system like mobile phone companies do, we don't want that.
I think the fact that I (among many others) have put hundreds of hours into the Horizon games and it took me reading the caption under the images to realise they were from 2 'different' series speaks volumes here.
I understand that in a creative bubble it is possible for ideas to be independently very similar, but they were definitely not creating this game in a bubble and Horizon has been around for years.
I am excited for it and having played the last 2 multiple times you can really see the improvements they've made to this one, not just in scale but in graphics and QoL.
Hell Is Us is much more my style of game so I was always going to get it, but I can see how something like Silksong suddenly dropping gave them a tough decision to make. I think they're different enough games that most people wouldn't have thought twice about getting both if they wanted to play both at launch.
Persona 5 Tactica is a decent game, but I already have it on Switch. The only other one I've got a passing interest in is Fate/Samurai Remnant, so I'm glad I can give at least one game a go this month.
@Shepherd_Tallon I know what you mean, I wasn't sure how close it would be to the kind of FromSoft frustration before I played it, but I haven't found it stressful at all. The combat is decent, if a little repetitive, but spread out enough that I haven't found it annoying yet, and the rest of the game is just layers of mystery and intrigue. It's really got it's hooks in me and I can't think of playing anything else at the moment.

Torn between Yotei and E33, but I think E33 clinches it because it's just so refreshing to see a new property come out swinging so hard and nailing almost every aspect it went for. Yotei is great, but it was building on greatness so it was easier to get there.
Re: Mini Review: 1000xRESIST (PS5) - Story-First Experience Is a Marvel
This is a really cool game (as much as it is a game anyway), played it on Switch so I'm glad more people can experience it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 605
Halls of Torment is scratching my fresh Vampire Survivors itch at the moment, so that's taking up most of my time this weekend.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for November 2025 Announced
Finished Stray when it was on Plus at launch, but I'll happily go back again to get the platinum. Not bothered about the others though.
Re: Rumour: PS Portal Could Be About to Get Even More Compelling
This is the improvement I've been waiting for. The Portal has already been worth it for me, but this would massively increase my play time with it.
Re: Mini Review: Halls of Torment (PS5) - Proof That Vampire Survivors Wasn't a Fluke
I am an absolute sucker for this kind of roguelite, absolutely right up my alley, that's being downloaded asap.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for October 2025?
I'm not a horror guy, so those don't interest me. V Rising is good and Yakuza is Yakuza, but I have both of those so nothing really for me this month.
Re: Tomb Raider: Anniversary Will Not Be Part of Next Week's PS Plus Update
I'm glad, they're just giving us too many Premium games at the moment, I can't keep up...
Re: Stay Tuned for the Announcement of a New Dragon Ball Game in January
Darn, I nearly missed this announcement of the upcoming announcement, I wish they'd have announced this announcement so I knew it was coming.
Re: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 (PS5) - A Disastrously Paced, Technical Mess of a Sequel
What's most surprising is that this even made it to release, but you could tell it wasn't going to stick the landing if it eventually did. Glad I wasn't holding my breath for this one.

Re: Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive Legend Tomonobu Itagaki Has Passed Away
I don't know about his other battles, but Ninja Gaiden kept beating me, so I'd say he won that one as well. RIP.
Re: Battlefield 6 Boss Says Call of Duty Only Exists 'Because EA Were D*cks'
I'm not proud of how long it took me to grasp the concept of his story here.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Ghost of Yotei?
No game is perfect, but this and Tsushima have been as close as you can get gor me personally, so a 9 is what it gets.

If so, I've got some money to make.

Finishing up the platinum for Hell Is Us (hopefully) which will likely be most of my weekend, but I may partake in some Space Marine 2 if I have time.
