Happy Wednesday everyone, and it is a happy one, because Sony has released a new PS5 firmware update.
Taking the console's system software to version 25.06-12.02.00, the patch is available to download and install right now, weighing in at about 1.3 GB.
So, what does it do? Here's the official patch note, singular:
- We've made some security fixes to the system software.
It's just a minor one, then — at least in terms of features. The new PS5 firmware simply plugs some security holes.

It's a tad less interesting than the previous firmware update for the machine, which brought a new power saver option for supported PS5 games. It also made it so you can pair a DualSense controller to more than one device.
Both are pretty nice additions, if not the most exciting in the world.
Anyway, there we are — another firmware update in the bank.
