Beat the fantastic It Takes Two. Fares deserves all the success and Gotys he got. Absolutely incredible with imaginative scenarios and a very moving, earnest story. At most I can criticize some of the humor for being a tad cringe but it made me cry by the end. 9.5/10.

Star Wars Zero Company: I think I am on the final set of missions as it seems a certain Clone Commander needs help. Enjoying the game a lot though I think it lacks the depth and I can already feel myself getting anxious to finish it. So far it's between a 7.5-8.5 for me.

I also have Wolverine Pre-installed. Will likely start it today or tomorrow, Also going to buy Resonant: A Control Story today.

In gaming Adjacent news- I saw RESIDENT EVIL (2026) and it was a solid 4/5. A great movie with a weird ending but a very interesting conceit from the PoV of those who leave the tapes and journal entries in the game.

Re: Poll: 10 Years Later, Is Persona 5 a True JRPG Masterpiece?

Mixed. In presentation and polish it's one of the best of the 2000's but as a narrative? It falls apart very fast. It's characters are one note the moment their plot ends. The perving on Ann is upsetting given her story arc.

For a JRPG the length and quality of the narrative hurt it to make it a 7/10 for me.

Re: Sony Stopped Physint Development Over Budget, Exclusivity Concerns

@Llamageddon it's interesting. Death Stranding merch and music events do well but the games don't sell too hot. I wonder if this is similar to the Sega situation where more people watch it than play it. But Sega profits of every Kiryu and Joker toy they sell.

Kojima wins because all the merch and concert profits benefit him as the IP holder but Sony who invested in the game that flopped get nothing in return.

ZERO COMPANY: unlocked second specialisations. So Hawks is now a Heavy/Assault operator. Run into combat using Bull Rush, taunt and retaliate. Easy peasy. Game is great but I'm getting a little tired of enemies constantly getting reinforcements in a mission. It's okay for some side content to be quick. Not every fight needs to be padded by adding half a dozen B1 Droids.

It Takes Two: near the end I think. Trying to turn the relation-***** into a relation-Ship (little Hakim jiggles as I say it). It deserves all the awards it got. Freaking love these coop games. Will try to get Orbitals soon.

Today or tomorrow i will buy Wolverine. I am in the mood for something more blockbuster-y after these puzzle based games.

Both on PS5
Star Wars Zero Company: A very very good X-com game 10 cycles in but as PS mentioned in the review some very jarring technical issues which are surprisingly rare for a game this price in this generation. But the characters, tactics and early story are great.

It Takes Two: Completed a bit inside a kaleidoscope and the visuals would make Remedy weep with how trippy it is. Fares and Hazelight are truly one of the standout developers of the generation.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Will Ship on One PS5 Disc, Digital Download Required

@themightyant Thing is I also wonder if by being multi-platform SE is doing it as a "parity" move between Xbox (which cannot use 100gb bluray) vs PS.

If Playstation 5 requires 2 discs, Xbox Series needs 4, Switch 2 needs 2-3 64gb cartridges. Considering they've gone aggressively multi-platform maybe this is just another way to cater to that. Not to mention it makes it much cheaper

Re: 'Likely and Soon': Next State of Play Is Expected in the Coming Weeks

I would like to see more Intergalactic and Until Dawn 2. I would also like to see Media Molecule, Kena and whatever X-Dev America is working on. Ooh more on Yotei DLC too.

It'd be interesting to see Laufey again given how much they've promoted it so far but, I also think they should avoid doing an Xbox and over-exposing their game.

I think Bend is still too far out and I think Break In/Fairgames will be shown outside the SOP like Hunter's Gathering

Re: Persona 4 Revival's Story Trailer Is Packing Loads of New Footage

cainhurst94

The remake's still six months away and we've been battered with every kind of trailer you can imagine.:

I've been thinking about this a lot mostly with regards to how much XBOX shows their games versus Nintendo or Sony but, it also got me thinking about all the major Japanese Developers. SEGA, CAPCOM and SquareEnix have all been spending stupid amounts of money on marketing. The only one that seems to have benefited is CAPCOM.

I think Persona and Yakuza (also Metaphor) have all struggled to break beyond the current hardcore playerbase who are ride or die for the games. It isn't a surprise that despite going multiplatform, they still seem to be stuck in the 2-3 million sales range

Outside of Persona 5 (I think people don't realise how much it is Joker who carries this more than the game itself), I don't think the popularity has really carried forward to the Persona ports or remakes. I think Sega is nervous about this since the games still review decently but other devs using their UI are seeing the benefits.

Re: So, Erm, Where's Forza Horizon 6 on PS5?

cainhurst94

I think it is pretty clear. Forza Horizon will release in a quarter where Xbox doesn't have a major blockbuster because they game will sell well and boost their quarter. It is a sensible business approach.

Weirdly enough FH6 seems to have disappeared from the news faster than FH5. What's the consensus on it from the playerbase now?

Also, I kinda like that Xbox is being a petty little twerp again. Let the console wars reignite. Xbox may not have a future but I do prefer seeing them fight and push their console. I just think as long as they see Steam as a viable platform they're doomed. If Playstation and Nintendo are rivals, Steam has to be seen as one as well.
