Re: After Cancelling Most PC Ports, Sony Promotes New 'PC Ready' Controller

@LowDefAl Thanks for the clarification.
As for the unique features, I found this list - most of the games on it are not made or published by Sony.

AFAIK, the features don't work with PC when using a bluetooth connection (unlike the PS5), hence the included cable in this new "PC Ready" bundle.
You definitely don't need PS Studios games on PC to still want to use a DS controller so I don't think there's much of a correlation between this and the other news.

Worth noting that this was posted on the PS Asia account - and that the PC to console user ration in Asia is much more skewed towards PC.
I think this is just an attempt to sell more hardware (peripherals in this case) in that market and has little to do with their plans regarding game releases. You can use the DualSense with any game and afaik there are games that Sony didn't publish that do support the DS features.

Re: Marvel Tokon Making Refinements Based on Player Feedback in the Run Up to Launch

Voltan

@PuppetMaster VSF5 case is a bit different because that's a game that was brought back after many years with renewed support about a year ago. Still cool to see though.

Anyway, for anyone interested in the competitive aspect of fighting games (including simple online play, not just tournaments and stuff), getting into the game early rather than waiting for a "complete" edition is usually a better choice. Figuring the game out with the community is fun.
I understand that releasing multiple seasons of DLC can feel like "milking" the fan base but I honestly don't think the old model was outright better. There's nuance.
(Also you can just buy the base game and then only buy the characters you want to play, if any - most games don't force you to buy the entire season pass, let alone all of them)

Re: Hands On: Marathon Is Dense, Demanding, and Drop Dead Gorgeous

I played for about an hour - admittedly that's not much but I can see what the game is going for and my initial impression is that it does it mostly well?
I'm not sure if I'd play it much as I don't really spend much time on online shooters but it felt good to play.
Worth noting that I played with a full squad of friends and I can definitely see this being much less appealing solo.

Re: Sony Confirms Big PS5 Pro Upgrade Is Out in March, Better PSSR Upscaler

Voltan

@wildcat_kickz The way I understand it, PSSR is a software library to utilize the PS5 Pro hardware for upscaling - this means a game can theoretically have a newer version linked in its build, while the general system update will allow the console to utilize the new tech in games that have the older version themselves.

Re: Guilty Gear Strive 2.00 Still on Schedule Despite Months of Silence

Voltan

I think anyone who plays this game actively and follows it closely expects news about this at the Arc World Tour finals (that's in 3 weeks).
It would also make the most sense to release it shortly after, probably some time in early to mid April - that way the next tournament season could start on the new version (with EVO Japan as the first qualifier).

GGST still has a very active competitive scene - it may not be anywhere near Street Fighter big but almost 5 years later it's still doing very well.

Re: PS5's Marvel Fighter Will Add Four More Characters, One New Stage as Year 1 DLC

Voltan

This one of the most anticipated games for me this year. Releasing in August means it will be a main game at Ultimate Fighting Arena in Paris (there's no date for the 2026 edition yet but it's most likely September) and the EU EVO.
Very excited.

The trailer also showed a few things that weren't possible in the beta, and that were a common subject of player feedback - so I guess they are taking that into account, which is great.
