Sony has pushed back the release of Housemarque's arcade shooter Saros, but pre-orders are now live on PS Store.
The game was originally slated for 20th March, but it's now slipped to 30th April.
The update comes at the end of a new trailer, which focuses on the game's narrative side:
On PS Blog, Housemarque's Gregory Louden describes Saros as having the "biggest and most ambitious story yet" from the studio.
"Saros is the haunting story of a lost off-world colony on Carcosa under an ominous eclipse," he writes. "You play as Arjun Devraj, a powerful Soltari Enforcer who will stop at nothing to find who he is looking for."
The trailer reveals that Arjun is not alone on the mysterious planet; there are several supporting characters who you'll meet in the Passage, a hub area, or out in the world while you're on a run.
As mentioned, pre-orders are live now, and the game comes in two versions.
There's the standard version of course ($69.99/£69.99), and the digital deluxe edition ($79.99/£79.99).

The digital deluxe edition gives you two days early access to the game, as well as gives you a bunch of in-game goodies. These include several armour sets inspired by Returnal, God of War, and Ghost of Yotei.
Are you looking forward to Saros? Tell us in the comments section below.

That sort of delay is good, one month - it takes pressure off of the team.
Saros is looking really nice. Plus I've always liked when the PS studios honor one another in their games 👏
I think it's a good decision since March looks pretty stacked.
April is looking emptier, so a good call to move it away from the likes of First Light, Crimson Desert and Monster Hunter.
The action looks intense (very Returnalesque) and Housemarque hasn’t disappointed me yet so I’ll be there on day 1.
@PuppetMaster yes! I was wondering if the delay isn’t because they really need more time, but it’s because March is stacked! Though another months polish will always be good.
I’ll wait for reviews on this one. I’ll need to know how similar it is to Returnal, you know? I liked Returnal, but I’m not sure I need another one so soon.
Very smart of them to delay this to the end of April.
I don't wanna spoil anything but the name "Carcosa" definitely has some implications.
Returnal with a bit more narrative juice (not that there wasn’t a lot to dig into with the first) Sign me up!!
I’ll get this day one which is a complete u turn, thanks a lot for the king in yellow references. One of my favorites.
@WhoderMan yep, this is gonna be really dark. Especially with the two suns that show up in the motifs and the little cutesy Hastur sketch.
Just grabbed it. I'm not a fan of this early access nonsense but I don't mind supporting Housemarque.
@somnambulance I'm guessing you didn't pick it up until quite late, shockingly it will be 5 years old when this drops.
@Quintumply
Please don’t follow this wrong narrative about the release date. It is 28 April, not 30 April.
Its important is it polishing up the game or still working on it because a month isnt a lot then.
Returnal released on the same day in 2021 I believe!
@Intr1n5ic No, I bought it at release. It just looks very similar to me. I liked Returnal, but it’s pretty distinctive as a game. It’s not a game that I feel really needs a sequel, if that makes sense. I just need to see and hear more. I may open up to Saros as the release date grows closer.
To this day, Returnal is one of the few PS5 games that feels truly next-gen to me. So anything that builds off it positively is absolutely a day one personally.
@Max_the_German only if you pay extra
@Max_the_German The official release date is 30th April, and that's what the release date will be for the vast majority. Only those who pay extra are getting the game on the 28th, but general release is 30th.
The new adventures of Adam Jensen have been put on hold.
Yes, I will be in line for a new game from the makers of Returnal. (adjusts calendar)
@knight_spg - exactly.
