I enjoyed the alpha, especially the story bits. I'm not fully sold on the open world yet but overall getting to play it made me much more interested than I was before.
This is a game I'd expect to appear on most players' lists even if often below either BG3 or AW2 (which, while both great, are not for everyone), so the outcome makes sense to me.
I haven't seen the leaks themselves but I've seen people's reaction to them, so here's my 2 cents as someone who was in the alpha test (and shouldn't be talking about it):
the leaks did not come from people who just played the alpha, because none of that was in it - if it was datamined from it, then it's wild that it was in the build
people really want to hate this game before even reading a review of the whole thing, let alone playing it themselves
I'm mostly sad that it's a lot of time and resources that amounted to pretty much nothing in the end. However, if it was really between this and more single player ND games, I'm glad this was the decision they made.
Honestly it feels like there must be something more than a single DLC reveal - a single character entry in the season pass for a still somewhat niche game just doesn't seem like a TGA scale event if you know what I mean. Also, unfortunately, if you're an active player, you probably already know who it is...
@get2sammyb They did say that but they also released a balance patch after the "final" balance patch, so who knows. Seems unlikely though, game will be 6 y.o. by the time they release the PS5 version.
It seems like it would have to go through certification again but CDPR has done it this way before (with Witcher 3 GOTY edition). My bet is that this is more about getting it out before holidays than the cost of that.
@Faruko that's not necessarily it It could gauge how well you're doing vs how well you **should** be doing considering your level and enemy levels etc and adjust the difficulty according to that this approach wouldn't necessarily eliminate being able to overpower some enemies later in the game or dying to strong optional bosses if you try to tackle them too early
Turns out the login thing is most likely related to my work network, I logged in fine after disconnecting from WiFi.
I do not see a discount when trying to extend my subscription.
Looks like the 25% extension discount is only for Essential?
I'm not the target audience for this (nobody else is using my TV!) but I'm glad it's actually good at what it does. I know some people are looking for ways to play when their TV isn't available and if they haven't invested in any Backbones etc yet, this is definitely an option to consider.
@ShogunRok I replied to PushSquare's tweet but I'll also mention it here. The PS5 version unfortunately has currently much more input latency that the PS4 version running on PS5, so I'd recommend using the PS4 version for now (you might need to use the PS App to download it, it didn't show up on my PS5) - which is a shame, because the PS5 version looks noticeably better. This was also originally a problem with Guilty Gear Strive but was addressed over a year ago, which is why I didn't expect GBVS to have the same problem - but here we are. Hopefully this gets addressed ASAP.
My country wasn't listed as eligible on the website and the first beta wasn't available for download here - but this one is. Hopefully this means they expanded to the missing parts of EU and forgot to update the list (and it will actually work). We'll see in the morning, I guess.
@trev666 Sounds like what they got out of that was "should've included microtransactions, dammit"
Tbf I'm sure it's a pretty successful model with MK but that's a whole different genre and it's not like they're going to release any other fighting games anytime soon
I really enjoyed the game 2 years ago so I'll probably give this a go eventually. @Ainu20 I'm basically you except I actually remembered this was realising, somehow
I'm currently playing the first one (PS+ Extra ftw) and doing quite alright in it - hopefully I'll manage to finish it and not get stuck. I really like the music and the narrative. Sounds like the sequel improves upon it in multiple ways so I'll definitely be looking forward to playing it at some point (maybe not straight after the og though).
@playstation1995 MP3 was pretty divisive because it changed the tone of the series significantly - and also wasn't developed by Remedy.
That said, I also thought it was really good.
I played the demo. It seemed promising although I wasn’t a huge fan of the combat system or how enemies spawned in the world map. Will put it on my list of games to maybe get eventually.

Re: Foamstars Releases 6th February as a PS Plus Essential Game
That's nice - the previews were actually quite enthusiastic about it
Re: Rocksteady Lifts Suicide Squad Alpha NDA in Apparent Bid to Counter Damning Previews

Re: PS Stars Retroactively Rewarding Lost PS5, PS4 Loyalty Points
I got points for my PS+ renewal, which happened a bit over a week ago... which I honestly didn't even realize I was owed but that's cool
Re: Granblue Fantasy: Relink Demo Out Today on PS5, PS4
I'll check it out but (assuming I like it) I'll probably wait until after FF7 to buy it. Got enough games to play before then.
Re: Get Lost in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown's Dark World on PS5, PS4
Looks great. I'll check out the demo first but I expect to be way into this.
Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5, PS4 Games of 2023
@Llamageddon It means it's been on more players' lists but in lower positions (so fewer points per vote)
Re: Game of the Year: #1 - Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for January 2024?
Playing all 3. Excellent month.

One of the best PS+ months. Playing all 3 asap.

Re: Turns Out You Won't Lose Access to Those Discovery TV Shows on PlayStation After All
@nomither6 to be fair, they did themselves announce that they'd be removing the content
Re: Major Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Spoilers Break Containment
Also I disagree that it's "extremely easy to avoid spoilers" unless you're simply not on social media

Re: PlayStation Wrap-Up 2023 Available Now, Check Out Your Gaming Stats
Damn, some of you are absolute gamers.
Still, I'm not too bad myself with 1300+ hours, half of which was on Guilty Gear Strive

Looks pretty good

Re: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Is Getting a Closed Alpha Test Very Soon
I signed up so you guys don't have to. Thank me later.

really depends on how well they implement it

@Nekomichu that was a joke, they're saying they're not going to use PS+ anymore

Re: Poll: Do You Think GTA 6 Will Release on PS4?
Doubt it - games sell well enough without last-gen now
Re: Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn (PS5) - Solid Expansion Treads Very Familiar Territory

Re: Development Cancelled on Promising Indie Title Revenant Hill
@Nepp67 "For all intents and purposes, this is the end of the development of Revenant Hill" - doesn't sound like a delay to me

I might actually use a couple of these (not Crisis Core though, already got the plat)

@CutchuSlow February 1st

not too bad, I guess - might check out the Aliens game

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Alan Wake 2?
I definitely want to but I gotta play the original (remastered) first.
Not a horror fan in general but it looks great.
Re: Stunning PS5 Open Worlder Star Wars Outlaws Has Seemingly Been Delayed
I don't think I knew this was supposed to come out sooner than that tbh. Totally fine if this is a summer game for 2024.
Re: Spirit of the North 2 Announced for PS5, Should Look Foxy in Unreal Engine 5
@Stevemalkpus Ah, that's too bad.
I'm still interested though, I'll add it to my wishlist and look for a sale.

Re: Spirit of the North 2 Announced for PS5, Should Look Foxy in Unreal Engine 5
Haven't played the first one yet but I believe it's on PS+, and definitely on my list
Re: Mini Review: Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery (PS5) - A Hilarious, Hopping Mad Trilogy
Definitely getting this when I find the time (not that it requires that much of it)
