Back when Silent Hill F actress Konatsu Kato went viral for livestreaming the survival horror game, she was not particularly familiar with action games.
But fans have watched her steadily get to grips with the acclaimed title over the past two months, and she finally beat the release this week, on New Year’s Eve, as part of an epic five hour stream.
The 26-year-old star – who featured as the award-nominated heroine Hinako Shimizu – resisted the temptation to dial down the difficulty after a new casual option was introduced, and so she finished on the standard setting.
Those who’ve played Silent Hill F will know it has more action elements than many of the other games in the series, so is not immediately accessible to non-gamers. It’s impressive that Kato – streaming to millions in the end – was able to complete the campaign, then.
It’ll be interesting to see whether Kato attempts to see the game’s other endings, or if she’ll conclude her experience with this particular playthrough.
Either way, the actress’ likeable personality and engaging performance has made her a real star this year, and we’re sure we’ll be seeing lots more of her moving forwards.
