Well, we've done it. For the first time in Push Square history, we had an official Game of the Month for every single month of 2025.
Through the magic of public polls, we had our loyal readers determine the best PS5 game of each month, and we must admit that you lot have pretty good taste.
Just to tie a neat little bow on the entire Game of the Month campaign, we've decided to throw this recap feature together, as a reminder of all our worthy winners.
Here's the full list of Game of the Month winners for 2025, along with the number and percentage of votes that they earned in their respective polls:
- January: Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (108 votes, 20%)
- February: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (394 votes, 45%)
- March: Assassin's Creed Shadows (275 votes, 39%)
- April: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (745 votes, 54%)
- May: DOOM: The Dark Ages (262 votes, 33%)
- June: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (545 votes, 72%)
- July: Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (142 votes, 23%)
- August: Metal Gear Solid Delta (222 votes, 28%)
- September: Silent Hill F (356 votes, 26%)
- October: Ghost of Yotei (775 votes, 57%)
- November: Dispatch (410 votes, 50%)
- December: Terminator 2D: No Fate (178 votes, 30%)
It's no surprise to see most of our Game of the Year contenders scattered throughout this list; the likes of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Ghost of Yotei were obviously very popular picks.
But it's also nice to see some less popular releases get some recognition. For example, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound was always destined to be buried beneath heavier hitters during Game of the Year conversations — despite being a fantastic title.
So, what do you make of our Game of the Month winners, in hindsight? Did our readers get most of them right, or are there any blatant omissions? Look forward to another year of hotly contested polls in the comments section below.

Big thanks to everyone who voted throughout the year!
We've had several publishers and developers reach out about Game of the Month, asking if they can use our award to promote their winning games. So we like to think it's worth doing!
Hopefully this year will be just as successful.
Interesting, only 5/12 made the end of year game of the year list.
I‘ve said it many times: KCD2 has the potential to become a stone cold classic. All I know about this game is from reading and watching videos, not first hand, so don’t hesitate to attack me (and probably rightfully so). But what I’ve seen is a long, not easily accessible, but highly memorable game which can create unique experiences. Everyone can tell their own story about it, as it is the case for Witcher 3 and Breath of the Wild. And this is what only video games can do.
My backlog is small, I‘m only interested in very few games, and KCD2 is one of them.
Death Stranding forever
No MonHan nor Khazan has me a little bummed, not gonna lie.
Out of the picks on offer I'd choose the boring answer, though. Clair Obscur is just great (almost) all around. Ironically the characters are the thing I like the least about that game.
Not a bad list.
@somnambulance agreed
@somnambulance "like" 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@HRdepartment @MrPeanutbutterz Keep on keeping on! 👍👍👍
Ghost of Yotei without question. As much a piece of art as a videogame.
