I played Robinson at the VR roadshow in Sheffield last week. Resolution was awful and hated having the right stick switching the camera between different planes. I don't fully understand it, but it was like myst, switching between 90 degree fields of view. Plus, the games don't look inspiring at all. If this was a box you put under the tv for the same price, I don't think it would sell at all. A lot of the hype is just around wearing the tv on your face. Hate to be a negative nancy, but I'm kind of annoyed with the release line up and forthcoming "experiences".
Not sure if I missed this in the review, but for those who are wondering - there is a free play mode to build up as you would in Minecraft. Some crazy videos of other people's creations already on Youtube. Day one for me!
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi My comment about the "hotel" being unfinished is to back the common line of thought that there were many things that were planned with good intentions to be in the game, but for whatever reason had to be cut. The movie trailer analogy probably has never happened, which is what makes the No Man's Sky trailer stand out, because that DID happen. The ASA aren't cry babies and this isn't disgruntled gamers holding the devs to task. This is a legal case based on objective facts. How much you (and I for that matter) enjoyed the game doesn't matter.
@Galvatron I understand your argument, but I don't think the ASA have even noted the press releases or the interviews. This is a lot more simple, the trailer and the screenshots on the Steam store are not representative of the product. That's it.
I have enjoyed the game (platinumed it), but it doesn't somehow excuse the marketing issue (not even mentioning Sean and his PR). This is more like "I wanted to buy a red circle and I got a red oval". Objective, not subjective.
@Galvatron This is different to people not liking the game and complaining. This is a professional regulatory institution that are investigating dubious advertising practises. I know how to press a button, thanks.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi If you watched a movie that didn't resemble the trailer that persuaded you to buy it, would you not be annoyed? How about pictures of a hotel that were taken before it was "finished" and turned out to be a dive in actuality? Advertising needs to hold true to the product people are buying. The onus isn't on the consumer on this one I'm afraid. That's why the ASA exists.
Kind of rules out being able to trade in the old PS4 for the Pro, like at GAME for example. Would have preferred a temporary cloud storage increase where this could all be stored. Better than nothing I guess.
I have suffered multiple crashes. Really wanted to love this game. Unfortunately, fixing crashes won't fix the main issue I have with No Man's Sky - boredom.
Andromeda will most likely not meet Q1 2017 as we have seen so little up to now. Perfect opportunity to release the remaster. "Platinumed" the first two on 360 so not sure if I could do it all again. Completing Insanity on ME2 truly lived up to it's name.
The beta didn't really interest me. The No Man's Sky comparisons are fair, except you take a train to new islands instead of a starship to new planets. I did feel like actual work, although I think oppressiveness was part of the intentional game design. It's a shame that most of the items in the founders pack can be acquired within the first couple of hours of normal play. I will pass based on micro transactions.
@PorllM New Vegas still suffered the increasing file size issue that afflicted Elder Scrolls/Fallout on PS3. Basically, the longer you played, the longer it would take to load..until the file size would squeeze out the PS3 itself and eat you.
Wow, as of when I've posted this comment, 20% of players have spent over 30 hours playing a game that's been out for a couple of days...I think that's worth an article in itself.
@TeslaChippie I spent some time with it last night. I like the small meta goals within the game, such as learning the words and meeting new aliens. I've been on three planets and only resolved to filling out the encyclopaedia on planets which aren't trying their best to kill me. I can see the game as a whole being grindy and repetitive, but the feedback loop (for now) is quite addictive. It's Friday and I won't be going to the pub tonight. With eyes open to what this game really is, I think this game fills a certain niche I haven't explored before.
I've read the impressions, frowned at the bad news stories and consulted the divided mess on Metacritic. Just been out and bought it from the store. I don't know what's wrong with me. I understand it's distinctly average (compared to the hype) and caved regardless. I'm just intrigued and hopeful for the future updates.
@BAMozzy Thanks for the explanation. I can see how that would be useful for the reasons you stated - especially for multiplayer. I have been trying to plat games before moving on (not always possible), so delete on achieving this. More a money saving technique than trophy hunting - but also a space saver. Thanks again
Can someone explain to me why there is an issue with storage space? The only thing I can think of is that space may be tight if you are not deleting games you are done with (which can be downloaded again anytime). I have been prompted to delete files to make space for new downloads, but it doesn't take long to find something that is fine to go. Larger disk space will only work up to a point, but once that cap has been hit, the amount of time cleaning up would be the same.
Does anyone have any experience with JRPG season passes. Don't think I've seen one before. No doubt this game will be long enough without the extra content (touch wood) so not too fussed.
This is an unknown entity. Dropping 50 pounds on it without any idea of quality seems a little foolish to me. Will wait for reviews. Not exactly starved for games at the moment.
@adf86 I don't understand the business need to be anti-competitive. Just as driving value out of the market is not advisory' effectively price fixing to please other businesses with outdated business models is just strange. They should be pleasing the consumer. As much as I enjoy spending time in my local game at lunch, if I see something I like, I will check the price online first. Amazon also stock physical products. Obviously, psn store does not. What part of this makes sense?
I watched this trailer last night. Was probably the funniest trailer I've seen so far this year. Loved the part about enjoying the romantic night, which quickly turns into rides derailing to the tune of 90's soft pop. Great.
Just about worth the price. I got this with the season pass, but probably wouldn't have stumped up for it without. That's only because I'm not keen on settlement building. If that's what you like about Fallout, this is essential.
@GoatWrench I agree. Just had to turn down the difficulty.
On a tangent, just finished the storyline for Far Harbour last night. Great overall, but Bethesda needs to work on their endings imo...anti-climax much!
@FullbringIchigo You raise an interesting point. All games should do their best to include all possible sub/dubs for people who may not be able to fully enjoy the game without them.
Although most of us will be fine with English voiceovers, we should never say no to more accessibility.
The hype has come and gone for me - replaced with "new" experiences. This isn't so much that I won't buy it on principle, more just that the interest has just gone. Like everyone else has said, if a lower price point (like £29.99) I may bite. If I really wanted TR, I would have bought an XB1.
From what I've just read on the official announcement, this weeks release of Neverwinter is like an early access with benefits for about 20 dollars (£ not mentioned). Full free release the week after.
Just no time for me to check this out. I am Setsuna > No Man's Sky > Mankind Divided > FFXV > The Last Guardian > Skyrim Special Edition. With ABZU, God Eater 2, Witcher 3 (GOTY), GT Sport and World of FF also looking suspiciously at my wallet, the time for looking backwards for my fix is well and truly done for the year. Don't even talk about VR and Neo (or whatever it's known as today). Good time to be a gamer!

Re: Review: The Tomorrow Children (PS4)
The beta put me off unfortunately. Not my cup of tea. The music and the tannoy announcer irritated me also...

Great line up IMO. Unfortunately, I own both.

Happy with folders, now custom backdrops (not profile pic). I will never be satisfied!!!

I really don't understand the price point. Looked at Toukiden last night on a whim...£54.99. Playstation store prices are a joke out of sales.
