The worst kept secret in games has finally been confirmed: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 will assemble on the PlayStation 4 next week. You'll be able to buy them individually or as part of a bundle, with Activision promising that the remasters will include performance improvements, as well as user interface and graphical enhancements.
The bad news is that they'll cost more than one of Doc Ock's experiments, retailing at $39.99 individually or $59.99 for the pair. That seems like an outrageous amount of money – especially when you consider that the first title originally deployed a decade ago. Will you be assembling your pennies in order to pick these up – or are you going to wait for a sale to swing in?

I'll wait for the sale after the sale after the sale at that price.
@FantasyMeister Fair point.
Oh boi. That's cool. Does cost a lot, though, I'll wait for it to go down in price.
Wow that's a crazy asking price. I want the games but for no higher then $20.
Better wait for a flash sale
I was honestly expecting about $25 each or a $40 bundle, but this is a little greedy for older games. They're stuck in this limbo area where they're not old enough to be vintage, and aren't THAT hard to find, but they're not worth quiiiiite that much. If they threw in X-Men Legends in the bundle I'd have no choice but to buy it, though.
Ugh, looks like Disney struck again. I was going to get these but I will wait for a sale to pick them up. Kinda a rediculous price.
Are they seriously trying to charge full retail price for two early games from last gen with a couple of touch ups? They must not be very interested in selling any copies!
@Tasuki More like Activision then Disney.
Nope. Sale fodder if ever I saw some.
What I want to know is if the games' original DLC is included...
wow and people thought Rise of the Tomb Rider at 60 with all DLC and extra content was a bad deal
Ouch... yep agreed, sale.
They're insane. These games aren't even great, they're just pretty good. $60 or the pair?!? I was thinking $30. I'll grab them when they're ten each.
@adf86 I don't know sounds more like Disney since they own the Marvel IP.
WTF do they want to eat my first born as well. thats just cray hope no one buys them fiorce them to sell them at £5 each.
You could go online get 2 new AAA titles that price. This was going to be day 1. Now probably day 678899
I'll be honest, I feel a bit of nostalgia for these games; spent tons of hours co-oping them years ago with a friend.
Sadly the current asking price is a little steep. Hopefully they'll get massively discounted thanks to sales down the road.
@DroothR Is there any DLC for this game?
And if I remember well, while the plot is good (hell it's civil war), the second entry is a little rough around the edges. X-Men legends is a bit better, but Marvel Alliance have more varied characters!
...I miss this kind of games, Diablo III was the last big entry, and it's probably the worst Diablo.
It would be nice if Marvel actually made a new console game instead of pouring out mediocre games on mobile.
@epicdude12302 That would depend on Disney cause they own the Marvel IP.

Lots of DLC characters...
@DroothR What a surprise, I did played the ps2 version so many years ago and never cared for the game again, after 2 be such a disappointment. But interesting looks liked the x360, pc and ps3 versions fared better with the critic, so maybe I'll give another shot on PS4...after a discount.
@Frank90 If they have all of the previous DLC, I'll get them (at a discount), but if they're the bare-bones versions, then I wont even bother...
