I enjoyed PS1 games back then, but now I'd rather spend my limited free time on more modern games. Completed Dark Cloud recently from PS2 era, but the rose-tinted specs were real. Saying that, I don't see why they shouldn't be available to those that want them, with trophy support and all that goes with it. People who don't care about trophies can still continue to do just that.
Again! Guess if you've never played it, it would be good. However, I believe most people who give a damn will have already given it a go. Nothing special today.
@thedevilsjester Appreciate the explanation. I bought into the Dreamcast and Wii on the promise of something awesome. Both didn't deliver in my point of view (although I have rose tinted specs about Dreamcast). I'm not made of money, unfortunately, so will have to measure the pros and cons to see if it is worthy of investment. I don't believe investment should be made after initial sales. The product should give me a reason to buy it, instead of the notion of backward crowd-funding. I do understand what you're saying. I just don't agree with it. I hope it succeeds.
Luckily, thanks to this site I got in before the price hike so I'm satisfied. For people who picked it up post-hike...I do think they should expect a little more bang for their buck.
"it's a legitimate shock we're not all still playing 8-bit sidescrollers" PS Plus would like a word...Admittedly this hasn't applied for the last couple of months, but it still made me laugh.
Like so many, I played it and stopped due to the increase in file size issue. That and my wood elf was seemingly useless against the dragons.....lessons learnt and shall be purchasing this to have my revenge (after the patch).
I would most likely buy if significant improvements are made. I never finished it on PS3 due to the file size issue. Mostly loved it, although the Dragon attacks got old after a while.
@rjejr Joking aside, Knack was an above average platformer. The lack of open world allows it to place enemies and obstacles better. On top difficulty, it was tough. Rather than focusing on collectables, it was more about working out how to tackle each "room", which enemies to take out first and how to manoeuvre more efficiently to minimise loss of health. Cross that with sparse checkpointing, and you have a pretty hardcore game. Unfortunately, this isn't what people were expecting, so it got blasted.
At least now I know when to book time off work. Not bothered about the previous two day wait, but it did seem a little strange how the country of the games origin would be one of the last to play it. A game like this, about discovery, really needs a worldwide simultaneous release.
From what little I've played, the frame rate is pretty bad. Love the look and the story so far. Hope they fix it soon and also add a trophy for completing the new survival mode (I just need it okay!)
Really enjoyed it and loved the setting. Combat seems to be far more complex than the Souls series, but retains some of the gameplay mechanics and, of course, the difficulty. Mixes it up with a loot system and personalised combos. Pro tip - Summon another player to help with the boss.
Finally! Can't wait to start playing the way I've always wanted to from the beginning. New Vegas Hardcore Mode spoiled me I think. Pesky holiday getting in the way though haha
Last month was an improvement on nearly every month before that for the last year. This month builds on that with some great variety and split between older retail and one new smaller release on PS4. Very happy with this!
@ApostateMage Yea, this beta thing is really starting to grate. Especially now it is used as a preorder incentive in some cases. "Includes invite to closed beta". Great....I miss demo discs.
With all the hype for this, I'm kind of put off by the idea of a new Crash game. It wasn't too long ago that Crash games were being pumped out with no regard for quality. In its day, the first Crash was a new experience and, arguably, the first into the screen runner. This has since been surpassed. Rachet and Clank has beaten Crash to the punch and a Knack sequel (funnily enough) would seem to have more going for it. This is going to hurt, but if you miss Crash, Temple Run is free on the app store...(bracing for impact)
I agree with this review wholeheartedly. The perks needed to maximise usage from this DLC is a little inconvenient. For me, it actually only mean two level-ups, but for those whose characters aren't built with high charisma, that could be quite the grind.
@illegalfreq The esports edition comes with a downloadable code for two pieces of DLC which consists of an extra stage for each rally and three liveries. This is so more people will enter the ongoing esports competition, with a car being the ultimate prize.
Looks great. Going to pass on Dark Souls this time. Fed up of feeling excitable, buying it Day 1, suffering for weeks, then moving on to something else halfway through. Hopefully, I manage to see this one through : (
Why won't Sony listen?! We don't want this Indie rubbish with tired gameplay and poor graphics. We demand triple AAA boardgames like Monopoly or Cluedo. One more month I won't be subscribing!
@slampog Before Sony's initiative we didn't have to pay to play online. The games are justification - not bonuses. As consumers, blindly protecting brand names is a marketer's wet dream. Keep pushing, reward good activity with praise, but never tread on others because their perception of value is different to yours.

Re: Unreal Engine Maker Can't Wait for PS4K
A really interesting time to be a console gamer (and potentially expensive)
Re: Round Up: Rubber Neck Carmageddon: Max Damage's PS4 Reviews
Wish someone would bring back Critical Depth. Loved the freedom in that game on the PS1!

Re: Review: 7 Days to Die (PS4)
One of them I have been enjoying watching others play on Live, but can't bring myself to play it. Strange...what is the world coming to?!

Re: The Witcher III Will Get a PS4 Game of the Year Edition Deserving of Its Name
Now, I will finally buy it! Missed the boat the first time.
Re: PlayStation VR's Not Released Yet, But It's Already Sold Out
@thedevilsjester Sorry, I'm still not buying until I see how the product performs. It's not our job to buy on faith.
Re: PlayStation VR's Not Released Yet, But It's Already Sold Out
@Splat Same. I really need to see how VR plays out before jumping in.
Re: Here's Just About Everything You Need to Know About PS4 RPG The Technomancer
It just looks a little dodgy to me. Will wait and see.

Re: You're in for a Rough Time in PS4 RPG The Technomancer
It looks a little ropey and doesn't have much character so will wait for reviews.
Re: Sony Confirms 'High-End' PS4K Exists, Won't Be at E3
Really hoping there are still things to talk about that we don't know about at E3. Seems like we know about all the upcoming games that matter...
Re: Could There Be an Even Greater Crash Bandicoot Troll on the Cards?
Some developers just want to watch the world burn.
Re: Feature: 10 PS4 Games to Get Hyped for at E3 2016
Sorry, I think Knack 2 was left off the list. Long day?
Re: Review: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine (PS4)
Is there any info on a complete edition coming out? I missed it first time around and figured I would wait.
Re: There's Mounting Speculation That Knack's Coming Back
New Crash content in the form of DLC Crash Skin confirmed for Knack 2
Re: There's Mounting Speculation That Knack's Coming Back
The Knackening is coming! You will all change your tune when it pulls an Ass Creed 2

Re: Feature: The 10 Best PS4 Games of 2016 So Far
@rjejr It can certainly be frustrating in that regard. There are other difficulties if you want to just relax and smash things up.

@rjejr Sir! Knack is a masterpiece and I won't hear any bad-mouthing against it!

Re: Swiss Retailer Lists Crash Bandicoot for PS4
Have to wonder why they would bother really.
Re: Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap Is Back and More Beautiful Than Ever
So great to see a lot of the community have played the original. One of my favourite games on a Sega console period. Awesome.
Re: For Some Strange Reason, EA's Releasing Titanfall 2 Within 3 Weeks of Battlefield 1
@LieutenantFatman My thoughts exactly. Titanfall 2 will hopefully be different enough to warrant a purchase.
Re: Oh No! The Division's Being Made into a Movie
Plenty of stealing beanies off dead bodies. If it reviews badly, I will just wait 6 months and watch it then. That's how it works right?
Re: Your June PlayStation Plus Games Have Been Revealed
I feel this is a decent selection, just not for me this month.
Re: Resident Evil 5 Punches Rocks on PS4 from 28th June
Cue hours spent trying to shoot a knife out of the sky urgh

Re: Review: LUMO (PS4)
Something really appeals to me about this. May have to check it out after Far Harbour, UC4 and Doom...and Star Ocean...maybe not

Re: Sony Santa Monica's Kinetica Racing to PS4
The screenshots look all sorts of bad from Google. Hopefully, will look a lot better on release.

Good selection this month. Happy to mess around with Tropico and Table Top Racing!
Re: Farming Favourite Stardew Valley Could Crop Up on PS4
Would actually like to give this a go.

@JaxonH I took from the article that it was only when purchasing items from the store.

Re: Review: Dark Souls III (PS4)
Enjoyed Demon Souls, original DS and Bloodborne, but finished none of them. Won't be getting this, as the juice just isn't worth the squeeze for me.
Re: You Can Get Your Oily Hands on Fallout 4's New DLC Starting Tonight
Load up, nab trophies, stop playing...wait for survival mode.
