There's always a home for Killzone as far as I'm concerned. Shadowfall was a game the brushed up against greatness without quite attaining it, but it did great business sales wise and left things open for taking the sequel in an interesting direction.
In all honesty, when Microsoft announced this I felt like they'd really hit it out of the park. I personally have a a massive 360 backlog and being able to consolidate on one console is quite attractive. Plus the space around my TV is super cluttered and getting rid of my clunky old white 360 would be a bonus too. It remains to be seen how it will be implemented but it was a nice surprise and very welcome... If I'm being harsh it say it kind of negates the expensive PS Now service.
Of course the thing is the fact that this was my highlight (along with the Rare collection, and Cuphead, bizarrely) just shows that Microsoft were looking back as much as they were forward. In terms of the big games, Sony were stand out winners.
Move and Wonderbook both had significant wedges of their respective media briefings given to them, and neither were a success. I wouldn't worry about the lack of coverage at this year's event. If the product is strong enough it will sell itself.
On a separate note, we're all grown ups here (probably). Can we not use terms like "retard" on this forum? You're better than that.
I'm anticipating some kind of announcement at E3... A heartfelt apology, mistakes have been made, lessons learned... and some kind of confirmation on what the PS Plus game will include. Would be a nice surprise if the full game was included, but let's not get hopes too high.
I'd almost be surprised if it got more than a token mention about remote play or indies.
I'm not sorry I've got mine, but if anyone wants something other than a wide range of lovely indie titles and JRPG strategy games, I'd probably not recommend it to them at this point.
Oh yeah... but I would add the massive caveat: "It's the only way to play TxK." As far as I'm concerned that should be the Vita's marketing slogan now.
@rockman29 the thing is, they're not far off. It really is that good. Up there with Mario Galaxy and Rayman Legends.
I've had it on my Xbox for years but always thought it would have been a perfect game for on the go sessions by way of Vita - so this is great news. All the more so seeing as I don't have to pay.
I thought it was quite neat but a had an unfortunate glitch where I unlocked the gold trophy for restoring five projectors when I had only restored one.
I did not earn that trophy. If I could give it back I would. Instead it's just there on my trophy list, shaming me.
I can't believe how many people actually want Knack. Look at it is way - you clearly don't own the game, but will play it if you don't have to fork out for it. But it's still a game you did not think was worth spending your hard earned cash on when it was released, probably because it was (rightfully) critically panned. If you REALLY wanted to play it, it's around a tenner in most second hand stores. Yet I'm guessing you haven't bought it because you don't even think it's worth that.
Maybe you should consider asking for something that might actually be good? Just putting it out there.
Speaking of the bathroom baby, I was talking to a friend who said a directors cut version of the game without the baby or the ghost jump scares would have made the game even better than it was. Had a bit of time to consider this, and I think he might be right. Just think if the only time you saw the ghost was through your peripheral vision as she stands in the alcove or window... then gone as you turn back so you're unsure of whether you saw her at all in the first place.
Or maybe it would be too discrete and would just go completely unnoticed by the discerning player, and they just think of P.T. as "that game with the weird fridge bit." Who knows?
What is particularly worrying for me here is that I went through three PS3s and each time one died I had to re download everything I'd lost. Let's say my PS4 suffers a similar fate (it's a launch day model, so I'd wager there are bugs in there just waiting to kill it) - I'll not be able to download PT and it will be gone forever.
Big drawback of a digital era. I don't think anything should be removed from the store if it doesn't have a physical release as well.
Call me naive, but I still think there's another good Sonic game to be made. I'm hoping once the Nintendo exclusivity deal is over, and once they've found someone who can point the project in the right direction, we might seem his little blue much on PS4.
As for this video, it's pretty fun - I like the addition of special effects. The mix of 3D and 2D makes my eyes hurt though.
Hmm, it's not brilliant. By way of comparison Lego Marvel was on sale on Xbox Live a few weeks back for £8. Maybe I should have picked that up at the time...
There might be some decent deals in there lower down the list. I noticed Luftrausers is down to a decent price...
@BLPs I've not played this yet, but I did spend a lot of time with Demon's Souls. I died a lot, but never thought it was down to bad design. A good example would be the end of the first Valley of Defilement. After eventually managing to cut my way through Defiled Ones, the insanely brutal Giant Defiled ones, plague rats, shamans, and god knows what else I finally made it through the the boss. The cinematic played, I armed my poison resistant armour and added fire damage to my sword, then promptly fell to my death because I failed to notice the cliff in front of me due to the dark lighting. I nearly cried.
BUT! After a brief grieving period, I was able to start the game again, and having learned the best way to handle enemies and not have to worry about finding hidden pick ups and such, I was able to get to the end of the level that much easier, and regain the souls I lost. And I also remembered to use the light of my fire sword to tread more carefully. Boss killed, save point established.
In the souls games, dying is never the end. It's integral to the game. Anyone who doesn't understand that has no business buying these games.
The concept was always more far reaching than the reality. You were supposed to use it as a place to meet your friends and launch directly into multiplayer games, cutting out the xmb altogether... Or go into a cinema to watch the E3 presentations live with friends... The former was never realised and latter just did not work.
And now all that is left are people moping on the Sony forums saying they'd spent money on virtual wardrobes and furniture that no longer exists. Well what do they expect, they were paying money for NOTHING!
Neat. My main issue with DriveClub (after the obvious network stuff got cleared up) was that the lack of in game music made it all feel really quite dry. Looking forward to testing outsome DriveClub playlists. Vroom vroom!
Neat. My main issue with DriveClub (after the obvious network stuff got cleared up) was that the lack of in game music made it all feel really quite dry. Looking forward to testing outsome DriveClub playlists. Vroom vroom!
I still haven't gotten round to playing Dark Souls I and II so this has to wait a bit until then. Demon's Souls was magnificent but it's from that experience that I know how life consuming FROM's game are.
Whatever it takes to see the sequel released. I enjoyed every second of getting that platinum trophy and while I think the game was what the Vita was made for, I can't wait to see what surprises a full blown PS4 version will bring.
Decent line up if you ask me. People's behaviour this past week on the PS blog has been reprehensible. Like spoiled kids. And it really annoys me when people start bleating on about wanting Knack. Knack sucks! Croc on the PSOne was better than Knack!
And it's really weird when people who don't have consoles complain about the games they can't play. Personally, between my three PS platforms and my two xbox systems I'm spoiled for choice this month. My advice to all the haters is to get richer and buy more consoles, and all the AAA games you want. That's what I do. Some time I just lay out all my unplayed games, throw em in the air and make it rain!
For everyone saying the kid's too young to be playing, come on. It's not GTA or Call of Duty. Say what you like about Destiny but there's no swearing, no nudity, no misogyny and no more violent than your average episode of Stargate. And I suppose all of you were only watching 15 rated movies and playing 15 rated games when you were of that age and not a day younger?
And those who are saying he's wrong to cheat? Oh well I'm sure you're all cornerstones of your community that have used a cheat mode and would never even think about working around Bungie's ridiculous loot drop system and never, ever used Knights of the Round with a Mimic Materia in Final Fantasy VII on accounts of it being highly overpowered. If you can't feel sympathy for the kid then shame on you. You've clearly forgotten what it was to be 11 years old.
If you never put trust in someone who said they were your friend, then screwed you over, then you're a lucky guy. Usually you learn this lesson later in life, but 11 years old is way too early to learn it.
Surprised by this but I guess with THQ going under the new owners of the IP are looking to make as much money out of it as possible. Even so I wouldn't have thought they'd be willing to spend much time or money on optimising what is basically a dead franchise. I'm thinking this is going to be more of a port than a remaster.
If you have a PS+ sub and have been adding the Vita titles to your download list like a clever person, you'll have a wealth of indie titles and some Vita classics for the price of one new PS4 game. Dive in!
If you're not just all about Sony they're clearing Wii U stock as well. You can get a Premium console with Lego Undercover for about £80. Bargain city.
Well, should be an easy one. Easiest Platinum I think I ever got was for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. It just came naturally through playing the game and a couple of hours of online play. I seem to remember the Platinum for Virtues Last Reward being impossible to not get so long as you completed the non-compulsory puzzles.
On the other side of he coin, the platinum for MotorStorm: RC damn near had me throwing my brand new Vita at the wall in frustration.
@get2sammyb yeah, the telltale lesson was thought to me when I picked up The Wolf Among us on launch day. Was pretty peeved, but with the discount and 10% off it seems like a safe time to pick up the pass now.
I also just picked up the the Bioshock: Infinite DLC, OlliOlli and DriveClub. I have a bad feeling that OlliOlli might be a plus giveaway, maybe even as early as next week, but surely Sony wouldn't be so mean? Right? And I just couldn't stay mad at them over DriveClub. Bless their little faces.

Someone must have eagle eyes to spot that. Just goes to show how long the development cycle for games like this is.

Lot of people asking for Knack. Which basically means people are content to receive a rubbish game just because it once came in a box.

Re: February's PlayStation Plus Freebies Will Be Announced Next Week
Pure speculative guesses:
PS4:
Killzone: Shadowfall
Unfinished Swan
PS3:
Ni No Kuni
A cross-buy indie
Vita:
Murasaki Baby
A new cross-buy indie
This would fit into the pattern we've seen over the past few months - and would also be typical in that I own most of the above games.
