Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4's Still Holed Up in Croft Manor

RawShark

I never took it as written that this game was definitely coming for PS4, but perhaps the smartest thing to do would announce Tomb Raider 3 (no, not that one) as a multi format release, and give a port of Rise of Tomb Raider as a pre-order bonus? It would be something of a peace offering to anyone upset about the timed exclusivity.

Re: E3 2016: Don't Hold Out for VR Pornography on PS4

RawShark

Party poopers.

It's not going to happen. Despite being happy enough for Kratos to jump up and down on a bed with naked ladies (that's what I assume was happening) Sony will always distance themselves from real life snuggle videos.

From what I understand, we're not missing much. I hear the end result just looks... odd.

Re: Soapbox: Let's Be Honest, E3 2016 Was Disappointing

RawShark

I wasn't disappointed as such - and overall I think Sony had the best show. But with leaks being so prevalent it's difficult to blow anyone away if something is expected. And there's no getting around the fact that everything this year was The Last of Us. (Well, not Crash. But I've never been a Crash fan). Sony's tactic at the shows has been famed games games for a few years now, and they played it safe and held on to that. They'll need to shake things up in the future to keep interest up though. I was hoping for a confirmation on VR options for No Man's Sky or a racing title of some sort, but maybe that's being held back for Neo?

Re: Feature: 10 PS4 Games That Won E3 2016

RawShark

The buzz is with Zelda. But it's like I keep saying - it will undoubtedly be that last Wii U game you'll ever play.

Or, perhaps the first NX one, but then we don't know that because they didn't unveil the damned thing.

Re: E3 2016: Sony May Have Pulled Its Big E3 2016 Conference Closer

RawShark

Yeah I'm not so sure. It seems like conjecture and spurious reasoning. I mean, if there were a game that were pulled, they still could have had Days Gone's two reveals back to back near the start and closed with Kojima or something else. It seemed to me they were just really proud of the crowd/swarm physics and wanted to close the show on a "wow" note. It seemed thoroughly planned out.

So you don't have to look it up:

Leviticus 26:7
And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

Re: Is This the Beginning of the End for the PlayStation Vita?

RawShark

I have a feeling the Vita will live on for a while even after Sony has ceased shipping new units. To be honest I'm surprised it still ships any. The stream of indie support is great but it's unlikely to get new users to pick one up specifically for that. Without hallmark, retail games there's not much point in getting a console when a tablet or phone offers much the same range of titles.

But hey, like Sammy said I got more than my moneys worth from it. I got a Vita with a 64 GB card for £100 on eBay. I can have the first ten Final Fantasy games on the go! And enough classic indie titles to keep me going for years (many of which were included with my plus subscription, others heavily discounted) as well as some excellent console quality games. It'll last me for years yet.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 111

RawShark

Well I finally got round to finishing Arkham Knight properly last weekend (damned riddler trophies!) so I'm a bit at a loss now. Maybe one of you fine gentlemen can recommend something?

Basically anything I play will be put right down in May when Uncharted 4 arrives, so nothing too long, maybe not an open world epic... Maybe Everybody's Gone to the Rapture... Although that might be too short to fully bridge the gap...

You can see the predicament I'm in!

Re: Rumour: PS4K Will Cost $399, Will Feature 4K Blu-ray, and Will Boast Better Graphics

RawShark

Pinch is salt taken. But even if I were to give some credence to this, honestly, has there ever been an upgraded games console that's been an essential purchase? Gameboy Advance SP maybe. More often they're more appealing starting point for brand new buyers, but existing owners are better sticking with what they already have. Just look at the New 3DS for example. The reasons to upgrade to that from a regular 3DS are extremely few. It just doesn't work.

Re: Take Cover, Your April PlayStation Plus Games Have Been Announced

RawShark

I actually think this is a marked improvement. It's a 3D game that came in a box - that's what everyone wanted, right?

I've been interested in I AmAlive for a long time and have been hoping it will turn up on Plus at some point. It's kind of Last of Us-like before that was even a thing. Or at least partly that, partly climbing simulator.

Everything else is a bit leave or take, but it's not bad.
Its good that Ubisoft are still willing to give up the goods for Plus. We might get some of their big open world games on Plus after all.
