Re: 'I'm Pro Sex Minigames': Former God of War Dev Backs PS5 Trilogy Remake to Keep Controversial Minigames

PuppetMaster

God forbid an M-rated video game about killing 'gods' with blood, violence, and gore also have a one time only-comedic-nothing explicit sex mini game 😆

It reminds me of that stupid drama for 'Bros before hos' trophy in GoW Ascension. I believe it was triggered by Anita Sarkaseian and her simps Madam Sessler.

And GoW sex mini game actually have good contex for story and gameplay:
1. It shows Kratos isn't a hero. The guy is a frickin womanizer.
2. Sex isn't a taboo in Greek myth like it has tons of sex in it.
3. It gives players decent Red Orbs if they do the mini game.

Like i said, I hope the mini game stays but big chance it will be gone or completely change. We'll see...

Re: Opinion: God of War: Sons of Sparta Is the Smaller PS5 Game Fans Want, and I Hope We See More

PuppetMaster

@Yor-sama Both games has different artstyle. It's like comparing apple to orange. Not to mention PoP Lost Crown was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, a big studio with 350 experience people who made Rayman series. Meanwhile Mega Cat is a very small studio with 24 people. I bet the budget for Lost Crown was much bigger than Sons of Sparta too, hence it was sold at $50 compare to $30 for Sons of Sparta.

Sadly Lost Crown was a flop with the team got disbanded. On the other hand, Sons of Sparta seems selling well at PS chart US & EU

@8thDoctor Nice to see there's still people who played and remembered the game. And yeah the soundtrack is really beautiful ☺️

Re: Opinion: God of War: Sons of Sparta Is the Smaller PS5 Game Fans Want, and I Hope We See More

PuppetMaster

@naruball I think right now PS brand is in good position with or without small games. But these small games really needs to sell well at least break even to keep Sony happy and give them solid reason to invest towards AA games & small devs. That way, they can also attract more small devs towards PS ecosystem which leads to higher output of small games.

@MrPeanutbutterz Sadly their arcade twin stick shooter doesn't sold well. According to Housemarque statement, Nex Machina lackluster sales was the final in the coffin and biggest reason why they moved on to bigger budget games.
https://housemarque.com/news/arcade-is-dead

It's a shame really but i understand their reason. At least i did my part with Resogun, Dead Nation, Alienation, Nex Machina, and Matterfall.

Re: Opinion: God of War: Sons of Sparta Is the Smaller PS5 Game Fans Want, and I Hope We See More

PuppetMaster

It's a decent idea and i'm perfectly fine as long as the main devs also creatively involved with the game. A good example like RAD GoW: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta where Cory Barlog wrote the story for both games, which i think he did a pretty solid job.

But the big question is are these small games will sell enough to break even or profitable?

I mean, we've already experienced PS3, PSP, Vita, and PS4 era where many small / AA games from Sony 1st party / 3rd party collab didn't sold well. I doubt anyone in here ever played Rain developed by Acquire and Japan Studio.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 623

PuppetMaster

Playing:
Suikoden I (Vita)

Finally got my own castle and staff for storing items, inn, weapons etc. Ngl, the item management in this game is a big headache. And the lack for in-game tutorial also quite annoying, especially about how Rune and status effect works. I wonder if the remaster fixed these problems. Nonetheless it's a pretty fun game.

Outside games, i'm watching Trigun Stargaze catching up to eps 8. The anime is pretty good and makes me forget a bit of recent orange man & bibi madness 😮‍💨

Hope y'all have a nice weekend 🍻

Re: Is Slay the Spire 2 Coming to PS5? Because We Need It Right Now

PuppetMaster

This is the 1st time i hear about this game and it's a card game? Yeah that's not for me. I tried Tetra Master and Triple Triad in FF's and i didn't like it one bit. I've also watched Yugioh, Balatro, and any card games and i never understand what's so fun from them.

I'm sticking with fighting games, beat em up, shmup, TPS, FPS, character actions, and RPG's.

Re: Marathon PS5 User Reviews Remarkably Positive After String of Live Service Disasters

PuppetMaster

@Ambassador_Kong You thrown this unproven accusation about Sony advertising dollars is the main cause for reviewers to delayed their reviews as if Sony want to hide everything about this game, which doesn't makes any sense when they already held a server slam for everyone to see and played the game. Sony didn't closed down user reviews for the game either which so far the majority has been positives.

And where's this advertising dollars for the collossal disaster name Concord since it cost them more than $400 million for the game + studio? Why Sony didn't pay reviewers to delayed their reviews? If they can paid Amazon to do an 18 minutes CGI movie for Concord then i'm sure they can easily pay reviewers to delayed their reviews or even demand them all to give 10/10's.

🤷‍♂️

Re: Site News: Where's Our Marathon PS5 Review?

PuppetMaster

@bindiana Looks like this "scare tactics" is a brand new tactic huh? 'Cause i didn't see Sony used it for Sons of Sparta, Lost Soul Aside, Destruction AllStars, Until Dawn remake, Lego Horizon, Predator: Haunting Ground, and other low-average scores games.

Man, it's a shame that Sony just found out about this tactics 🤔

Re: Site News: Where's Our Marathon PS5 Review?

PuppetMaster

@Blaze215 "like it or not (and I dont) critic metacritic scores influence sales"

COD Blops 7 at 65% metacritic with average 1.5 users score and that doesn't stop the game charting at no 1 in multiple regions for months. And 94% metacritic score doesn't make Astro Bot sold as much as COD either. So your claim doesn't fit with the reality here.

"Withholding reviews while the game is on sale is shielding bungie from a potentially low critic score"

Thousands of player reviews at Steam showed the game at average 4.5 / 5 stars. So why would the critics wants to shield Bungie from low score when plenty of players already spoke about the game quality? Your conspiracy theory sounds off buddy.

Or are you want to say those players got paid by Sony / Bungie? Lol.

"If you are just willfully ignoring this obvious fact you're not being honest and are not worth discussing this with"

You're the one who's an ignorant and dishonest here. And looking at your comment history for this game, it's clear you dislike it and wants it to fail.

But hey, you can keep seething for all i care 🤷‍♂️

Re: Site News: Where's Our Marathon PS5 Review?

PuppetMaster

@Blaze215 Covering game studios? For what?

Last time i check, game critics isn't the end of all end for opinion. So why put a lot of stock on what game critics will or not write on their reviews when the game is available right now where you can check users reviews or watch live gameplay videos to have more detail infos about the game???

Re: Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets a Sick Gameplay Trailer, But Still No Release Date

PuppetMaster

@Littlebigmatador Ah yeah thanks for the reminder. I forgot XDevs are also working on Marvel Tokon and Sony published + market the game. So that means Sony released 6 games for this year alone, 7 if we count Yotei Legends.

@Accipitridae Yes it's remarkable. I salute Capcom effort on pumping out high quality games on consistent basis. Although, last year their output was pretty barren outside MH Wilds and collection / remaster such as Onimusha 2 and Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

Re: Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets a Sick Gameplay Trailer, But Still No Release Date

PuppetMaster

@datamonkey For this year, Sony 1st party actually has more output than Capcom.

Capcom will release 4 new games; 1 already out (REquiem) and 3 left to go (Pragmata, Onimusha, and MH Stories 3).

Sony will release 5 new games; 2 already out (Sons of Sparta & Marathon) and 3 left to go (Saros, MLB The Show 26, and Wolverine). Count it 6 if we include Ghost of Yotei: Legend which is a standalone expansion.

Re: Out Today: Marathon's PS5 Launch Puts Sony's $3B Live Service Gamble to the Test

PuppetMaster

@Propaperpusher "i' championing this game to fail so Sony can learn a lesson"

What lesson? Concord was a collossal disaster but there's no "we learn the lesson" whatsoever. We still get new single player and live service games. So wishing for a game to fail is pointless and also childlish. You'll not gain anything substantial if Marathon failed. None.

But what you should do if you want Sony to learn a lesson is BUY their single player games, send your proof to Sony that you want more single player games, and pray they sold well enough to keep Sony happy and investing on single player games.

"There's food out there but you don't eat everything?!? There's books out there but you don't read every type of book"

Did you also championing some book or food should turn into ashes just because you didn't read or eat them, the same as you championing Marathon to fail despite you have no intention to played it?

"Single player campaign made Sony what they are, now they are getting lazy and complacent"

Sony still make single player games and Playstation has tons of them. So why not go buy and play them? Oh right, you don't want them either based on your reactions for Sons of Sparta, Nioh 3, Romeo is a Dead Man etc.

"I will be happy, because I voted with my wallet and opinion and won"

You didn't voted with your wallet or even won since you didn't buy Sony single player games. Just yapping in here will not change anything 🤷‍♂️

Re: Out Today: Marathon's PS5 Launch Puts Sony's $3B Live Service Gamble to the Test

PuppetMaster

Good luck to Bungie 🍻

I would put this game on my buying list if it have a story campaign. I really like the artstyle and story premise. But sadly it's MP only and i'm not a fan of PvP extraction shooters.

I still don't get why some people wants this game to fail though. If you don't like multiplayer exctraction shooter PvP only game, there's plenty of single player games out there that you can play right now like RE Requiem, GoW Sons of Sparta, Nioh 3, Romeo is a Dead Man, DQ VII remake, etc.
