Re: Has PlayStation Found Its Own Black Myth: Wukong? New PS5 Console Exclusive Is One to Watch

PuppetMaster

@Oram77 I think i will.

I'm excited for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Nioh 3 despite over the years i already played a lot of Japan sengoku period + samurai games that looks and play similar.

But i'm not sure why you or some people in here shows negative reaction towards Chinese devs / games. Why are you complaining some Chinese games looks similar while ignoring the ones that looks and plays different?

And why Chinese devs can't have their own signature with Wuxia + classic ming / tang dynasty setting just like Japanese with samurai / ninja + sengoku / meiji setting or Western with cowboy & medieval setting?

Re: Has PlayStation Found Its Own Black Myth: Wukong? New PS5 Console Exclusive Is One to Watch

PuppetMaster

@Oram77 They used the same setting in classic China and Wuxia so obviously they have close similarities. It's like saying Call of Juarez, Red Dead Redemption, and Evil West looks similar because they used cowboy setting. But are all of them gonna played the same? I don't think so.

Blood Message and this game for example. The gameplay clearly looks very different. Blood Message looks more grounded with the combat + Uncharted adventure style while this one is leaning heavily on Wuxia style add with some fantasy of rewinding time.

Heck, this game and Phantom Blade 0 doesn't look the same from gameplay despite both lean heavily on Wuxia.

The thing is i think they still looks more fresh than the gritty-brown-military shooters that we got so many of them back in PS3/360 era.

Re: Has PlayStation Found Its Own Black Myth: Wukong? New PS5 Console Exclusive Is One to Watch

PuppetMaster

@Silenos Yeah i remember when tons of games looks very similar with gritty-brown art style, generic soldier guy in the front cover, and FPS/TPS with regen health + cover based mechanic back in PS3/360 era.

Then people complaint they had enough of it and demand games to look more colorful. Now here we are with games looks more colorful, not FPS/TPS, not generic soldier guy, not cover based shooter with regen health, used Asian culture / setting, and we still have some people complaints 'boooo all these games looks the same!' lol.

Re: Larian CEO Swen Vincke Sticks His Foot in It Again, Thinks Game Reviewers Should Also Be Reviewed

PuppetMaster

In the end, i think what Larian CEO asked is reviewers should level up and put more effort to produce fair and accurate reviews. The demands not just come from gamers side but also from developers side.

Heck. I think reviews can be educational too. I mean, a review that dive deep to the game design definitely looks a lot more interesting to read compare to reviews that just hovering the surface and write simple line like "graphic looks pretty" or "gameplay feels generic". But at this rate, i don't think i will ever see that type of reviews 😁.

Re: Larian CEO Swen Vincke Sticks His Foot in It Again, Thinks Game Reviewers Should Also Be Reviewed

PuppetMaster

I understand and pretty much agreed with his idea 🀝

We've seen some 'professional' reviewers came too personal and that leads them with yapping more about their personal politics rather than provide readers with solid, fair, and accurate information about the game like how's the level design, are the core gameplay really solid and fun, how long to finish the game etc.

Not to mention, a lot of reviewers got signed up for genre that they doesn't like or have little experiences. I've seen reviewers who clearly doesn't like or doesn't have enough knowledge for beat em up and character action game and they came up with bad / misinformative reviews. Case in point IGN God Hand 3/10 and SpikeOut 5/10 review, which gave a devastating effect for both games πŸ˜”. Oh, i almost forgot IGN Alien Isolation 5.9/10 review.

So, there should be a site that show good and bad reviewers. And the ones with bad track record shouldn't get review copy again 😊

Re: Sony's Sending Messages to PS4 Players Encouraging Them to Upgrade to PS5

PuppetMaster

@Krlozgod Go back to that site and read carefully the price is just an example, not the real value.

Beside, i don't think there's any sane gaming store who will accept a trade in & trade up for an old console like PS4 that has been used for years and they give you hundreds of bucks close to a brand new PS5 + $50 voucher lol.

But if your PS4 is rare / special edition + in very mint condition or brand new then i'm sure you could earn a lot of money.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Highguard?

PuppetMaster

I don't hate it but i'm not interested to play it.

The future for this game looks grim though. I don't think there's any popular streamer who plays it. More reason why this type of game needs multiple beta test instead of rush it to release without any feedback.

Re: Monster Hunter Wilds Sells 11 Million in Just Under a Year, But May Lack World's Momentum

PuppetMaster

@Batesy125s For Rival Schools, i think Capcom need to give it the same marketing effort that attract casuals like SF 6.

But again, i'm not sure if that enough to secure a success considering right now fighting genre is very stack. People usually stuck playing one or two games that have nice graphics, big playerbase, and good contents. It will be difficult for Rival Schools to come in and grab people attentions who already commit to just play SF, Tekken, MK, or KoF...

Re: Rumour: GTA 6 Might Not Launch Physically at First to Avoid Leaks

PuppetMaster

@Neonix Disc isn't the only physical medium. There's also cartridge. PS Vita and Switch are portable and they can play cartridge. Even PSP also can play mini-disc (UMD).

But why are you so sure that the next PS portable can't play physical games? The rumor didn't say anything about the portable version can only play digital games.

Re: Preview: Resident Evil Requiem Is the Ultimate PS5 Horror Game

PuppetMaster

Looking good and it's nice to see Crimson Head mechanic again. It adds more gameplay depth and more reason to blown up the zombie head with a shotgun / magnum. But i wonder if lighter + gasoline also make a comeback.

@Thelegend159 Leon already John Wick zombies in RE 4 and CG movies before RE 6. He's been like that for years.

Re: Arguably the Worst Final Fantasy Game on PlayStation Turns 20 Years Old

PuppetMaster

"a convoluted mess of unresponsive third-person shooting"

Possibly because the PAL version only support 50 hz and run at 25 fps compare to NTSC version that support 60 hz and run at stable 30 fps. I played NTSC version and it's pretty responsive.

Anyway. The game isn't that bad and the hate is overblown. I personally give it a 6.5/10. Square learnt the mistake from it which is why Crisis Core was a lot better.

Re: Today, You'll Finally Get to Form Your Own Opinion on PS5 Shooter Highguard

PuppetMaster

Good luck to the devs. I'm not gonna try it though, not interested with hero shooter.

But this makes me feel a bit nostalgic that I used to spent a lot of hours with F2P games like Ace Combat Infinity and Tekken Revolution back in PS3. I believe i also spent a couple of bucks to unlocked a costume for Hwoarang. But Bamco shut down the server for both games back in 2017/18 and all my progress just gone :/

The other F2P that i spent enough time was Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising (got ranked A-A+ with Gran/Djeeta), Dead or Alive 6 (got ranked B with Diego), and Rocket League.

Re: All Signs Point to Resident Evil: Code Veronica PS5 Remake in 2027

PuppetMaster

@Rich33 From voice act alone, Carlos remake sounds better. He's more charismatic and likeable than the original which imho was quite bland and meme worthy πŸ™. I don't blame Carlos original VA though since back in PS1 era there's not many company who really knows how to do good english dub like MGS 1, Soul Reaver, and Brave Fencer Musashi.

And from story pov, Carlos remake was better too. His character development, role, dialogues, and interaction with Jill was superior compare to the original.

I think the general consensus also agreed that Carlos remake is one of the brightest point for RE 3 remake.

As for your second reply, i completely agreed that Capcom shouldn't rush with these remake and i think they already learnt the lesson not to repeat their mistake with RE3R. We can see from RE4R which came out without cut content.

Re: All Signs Point to Resident Evil: Code Veronica PS5 Remake in 2027

PuppetMaster

@Porco "an overrelience on remakes and sequels is quite boring, regardless of quality"

Can't blame Capcom since the majority of the fans are asking for remake and sequels and it showed in the sales numbers.

Meanwhile the ones who's asking for a new IP mostly didn't show up. I mean, Exoprimal was a big flop and Kunitsu Gami missed the target sales (only sold 500K copies) despite it's a very solid game.

We can also look back at other Capcom new IP from previous gens who also a flop such as Haunting Ground, Chaos Legion, PN03, Remember Me, Asura's Wrath, Dark Void, and Ghost Trick.

Like it or not, in the end the majority of these remake and sequels are making good money for Capcom which is essential for a game company to survive.

I hope Pragmata will sell well though because it looks solid. But i have a feeling it will not do well...

Re: Despite Its Price, PS5 Pro Enjoyed a Very Respectable 2025 in USA

PuppetMaster

@themightyant "Why would I go to Game and pay full Β£70 RRP when i could get it for Β£55 on one of the online stores AND have it delivered to my door"

This 🀝

Online stores like Amazon, Ebay, PlayAsia, Blibli etc are thriving on selling physical games for years and i believe they also didn't have retail store.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 617

PuppetMaster

I've been spending some time with my PS3 slim for FF X HD and Fatal Frame II. But this afternoon, i can't sign in to PSN from PS3. It showed error and this error block me from playing any games, digital or physical which is weird. The error showed 'this game have time limit' and ask me go to setting and set the time clock based on internet, which also showed error. I wonder if Sony secretly turned PS3 into must online console with their latest patch or there's something wrong with my PS3 slim πŸ€”. Anyone in here experience the same with their PS3?

Beside FF X and Fatal Frame II, i'm playing Ys VII on Vita.

Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻

@HonestHick "But to think it’s not on its way out is a little silly to think"

No it's not silly. But it's silly to believe physical is on way out just because digital doing better. That just as silly as believing paper media on its way out just because there's internet.

"But it’s never making a comeback nor is it the mainstream way gamers buy games now and it hasn’t been for a while"

A comeback? It never left and it will stay for years either you like it or not.

"Don’t shoot the messenger as they say these are just the facts in dollars and cents."

Yeah lets ignore the facts that physical media is still making $Billion every year and have good demands. Lol you're a silly guy.
