Nier Replicant sales also got an update. Now it's sold at 2 million copies.
But i'm just baffled with the way Square treated Nier and Drakengard. At this rate we probably already get Drakengard 1-3 remaster and a new Nier if Square really care with both IP's.
But eh, nothing new with how Square treated their IP's that doesn't have DQ, FF, and KH in the front cover.
I feel a bit sad for kids nowadays. Feels like they're quite fortunate to born & grew up with tons of great looking modern games and also have easy access to plenty of classic retro games.
But in the same, time they're unfortunate because games like Roblox is a pedo nest.
In the end, i think parents are the one who should put a limit or warn their kids about Roblox. Maybe spent more time playing games together with them while reccomending other games that could avoid them as a target by pedos. I don't have kids but if i have one i will push them to play retro games like Contra, Battletoads, Super Mario, SF II, Alundra, or Castlevania than Roblox. They must learn that old games are much better than Roblox haha π
Dang, sold 1 million copies in just two weeks and only for PS5+PC. Meanwhile NG 4 already 4 months in + 3 platforms but there's still no official news from KT if the game sold well or not.
I'm happy for KT / Team Ninja that Nioh series is still selling well for them. But in the same time i'm worried it would be another long sleep in the coffin for NG series π
Anyone in here who have twitter / social media account and really care about the rest of Sony 1st party studios future then you guys should send your angry post + demands towards Sony / SIE account.
Let them hear your voices that Hermen needs to be fired before this year end.
Man, it's just only a week that Sony got very positive buzz from the excellent State of Play. Heck, more people are being hype for Konami again after years of their ho-hum output.
But Hermen the party pooper believe Sony don't need that positive buzz anymore. Shame on you Hermen! π πππ
I believe Hermen is 100% Dutch, not American. And before Hermen and Jimbo, we got Shawn Layden which is an American and he did a solid job leading SIE back in PS4 era.
But i get what you said. I think it's time for SIE to move away from America and have full Asian higher ups like they did years ago with Crazy Ken, Kaz Hirai, and Shuhei Yoshida.
Anyone in here who have a twitter / social media account, i have a favor to ask: can you guys please send your angry rant + request towards Sony / SIE account to fired Hermen?
I think we all here had enough of this clown mismanagement and killing Sony 1st party devs while keeping irrelevant one like Haven Studios who only showed awful looking Fairgames and didn't release a single game since they got acquired 4 years ago. So don't let Hermen closed down:
Naughty Dog
Insomniac
Sucker Punch
Team Asobi
Polyphony
Santa Monica
Guerilla
Media Molecule
Bend
Housemarque
Firesprite
Sorry, i don't mention Bungie, TeamLFG, and Dark Outlaw Game in that list cause they produce zero game or have anything that screams they need to stay as 1st party playstation studio.
We already lost studios who had long history with Playstation as well the ones who made good games despite they only acquired for a short period of time like Bluepoint and Pixelopus.
So let Sony / SIE heard that we PS fans don't want to see Hermen at SIE anymore.

10 years is a lot of time to fire Hermen and find a good replacement that can ensure PS6 will have a good supply of 1st party games while also keeping 1st party safe from forcing to work on live service games and unnecessary closure.
What a load of bollocks! Just like his mentor Jimbo Ryan.
Bluepoint is a small studio and they already released at least one PS5 game that sold well while helping Santa Monica with GoW Ragnarok + Valhalla DLC. Closing them down wouldn't safe a lot of money or whatever nonsense like Hermen claim.
I'm worry that next Hermen gonna closed down Bend and Media Molecule. Bend and MM are not yet release a single game since Days Gone and Dream. So most likely he will try to take down both studios to cut cost.
Heck. I'm not surprise if he gonna take down Team Asobi too despite Astro Bot success. So far beside Concord devs, all studios that Hermen closed down are focus on single player games like Bluepoint, Pixelopus, and London Studio.
This guy needs to go asap or Sony will left with zero 1st party under his leadership.
@Questionable_Duck Or like i said, it's most likely Konami believes it's a waste of resources to make Silent Hill games for Switch and Xbox because the lack of audiences. There's still no Switch version for SH 2 remake and SH f as we speak. SH: The Short Message also still a PS5 exclusive.
And a bunch of good reviews on Xbox store doesn't mean SH 2 remake sold well on the platform. That's just pure speculation with very thin ground to stand on.
Bloober doesn't own SH IP so they're not the one who decided exclusives or not.
Hermen is a fking joke! π
This guy should be leaving and follow his ex boss Jimbo Ryan immediately after Concord collossal flop.
Like WTF. Bluepoint made excellent remaster of GoW, MGS, ICO, Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and SotC + Demon's Souls remake. They should be an easy gold mine!
I hope a year before PS6 release, Nishino or Sony CEO send Hermen far away. He's not fit to lead Playstation anymore.
Not just this game but i believe Rev.Noir also a PS5 exclusive.
I think it's normal for Konami to turn this as PS5 console-time exclusive. Not just Silent Hill started from Playstation, PS5 has sold 92 millions units ww, and SH 2 remake sold really well with only PS5 & PC version. But Konami possibly believe there's not a big audience for the series on Switch 2 or Xbox.
I remembered SH Shattered Memories was a Wii exclusive like a month or two and the game didn't sold well until Konami released the PS2 port.
And i'm not gonna surprise if SH 1 remake will be PS5 console exclusive too.
@Rich33 Yeah it's like that one character in FF VII. It's not a spoiler anymore since the game has been out for years. But to make sure, i'm not yet see any spoiler for Requiem. So i'm only predicted what Capcom gonna do.
I'm not yet see any spoilers but i bet Capcom will play safe when comes to Leon. These days, no devs are brave enough to receive a backlash like what ND did with Joel in TloU 2.
@Korgon I think this is not enough to hold people until DOA 7 comes out. I'm not even sure the hardcore fans will spend $35-40 to buy this game again while missing two guest characters, no crossplay, and no fix for the bad netcode.
"It's a paid, single player adventure where you can unlock a sizeable roster of playable heroes, and they're all attainable in-game without any microtransactions"
You mean like Suikoden where you can recruit 108 heroes with 70-80 can be used in combat?
@RBMango You can't fully blame people who said nothing of value was lost when the 1st game never been release on any PS platform.
This is also the 1st time i heard about this game and i've bought / enjoyed some VN's like Zero Escape trilogy, Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, Death Mark, AI Somnium Files, and Steins Gate. Square didn't do a good job marketing this game.
@Noone2025 "and key card games aren't anti consumer"
Yeah it's not anti consumer when the majority of Nintendo Switch 2 owners complaint and forced Nintendo to thrown out a survey about it. But sure, whatever you say max burner account. Your Nintendo lord didn't do nothing wrong π€£
Sony isn't competing directly with Nintendo nor Nintendo themself truly believe Sony as their direct competitor. There's not even once where Nintendo talk about Sony / Playstation in their financial strategy. Hence why Nintendo did every arrogant / anti-consumer bs with Switch 2 ($80 bucks game, $10 tutorial, game key card etc) because they doesn't care what Sony does with PS5.
Sony themself doesn't look much at what Nintendo does. Case in point; they doesn't give a damn with Nintendo charged $20-35 /year for online subs when they decided to increase PS+ Essential price from $60 to $80 /year. Your "Nintendo is the only one who can correct Sony" doesn't work even for a simple case.
Second. Like i said, this isn't about the competiton. But this is Sony trying to found a way to minimize the increased loss from RAM price. MS, Steam, or even Nintendo didn't produce RAM or any hardware parts that Sony gonna used to produce PS5. Heck, they doesn't even produce a single bolt that can be used for PS5. So there's no way Nintendo can correct Sony's decision to get additional revenue to cover their loss. Nintendo isn't that powerful buddy π€£
@Max_the_German I don't see you mention or admit arrogant Nintendo in your 1st post like at all. But since you agreed current Nintendo is arrogant then please, enlighten me with your "Nintendo is the only platform holder which realistically can prevent Sony to freak out" claim.
How on earth you said with confident that an arrogant af Nintendo who charge $10 for sh*tty tutorial, charge $80 for a frickin Mario Kart, charge $400 for a brand new hardware that is a lot less powerful than a 5 years old PS5, did sh*tty anti consumer practice called game key card, and increased Switch 1 price, is the only company who can realisticly keep arrogant Sony from coming back while they already did arrogant stuff ahead of Sony???
There's nothing currently from Nintendo that can inspired Sony to not go full arrogant. Heck, i think Nintendo is a bad inspiration for Sony.
@Max_the_German Obviously you're not gonna admit how arrogant Nintendo is at the moment π€·ββοΈ. There's no need to feel cautious with good guy Nintendo cause arrogant Sony will charge a kidney and liver π€£
@Fighting_Game_Loser There's no Patapon 4 and Loco Roco 3 / 4 which means their last game doesn't sold well to continue the series.
When these small games got injected with more risk like say unconventional gameplay / story, they will target specific audiences which means more potential to sell less.
Sure they don't need to sell big / millions of copies but it still depends on how much they cost. If the budget say cost $5 million and only sold around 50K copies with 10 bucks price tag, that's not close to break even. For example, Shovel Knight base game was cost around $1.4 million and all updates cost around $9 million. I bet games like Patapon or Loco Roco with better graphic could cost a lot more.
So yeah, like i said, in order for Sony to take more risk with smaller games, they need to see the proof in the numbers if these games can break even or profitable. I hope Sons of Sparta sold well cause if not there's small chance for Sony to fund games like this again, let alone do more risk...
AI and RAM price increase are really sucks. I hope this AI bubble get burst quickly.
@Max_the_German This is nothing to do with the competition. But how weird you quickly called out arrogant Sony would be back while mentioning Nintendo who charge $80 for their games, never make a free multiplayer mode like Sony did with Tsushima & Yotei Legend, and charge $10 for a garbage tutorial compare to an excellent + free Sony Astro's Playroom. Like who's the arrogant company here???
@Jaxx420 I forgot KH 4 lol. It's been like what 3-4 years since it was revealed? I personally feel the series should end with KH 3. But we'll see what kind of story Nomura can do for KH 4...
@Areus True. I hope KT do something with Rygar and Deception series.
@darylb24 Are you saying Sony can't do moneyhatting while Nintendo and MS can?
It's so weird to see Konami is on the rise and form close partnership with Sony again. Meanwhile Square is falling down, ended their close partnership with Sony, and flip flopping with their "exclusives is bad. everything will be multiplatform on day 1" campaign.
Oh well. The current Square doesn't have anything that makes me interested, maybe VIIR Part 3. But i'm not yet played Rebirth and i feel like i'm kinda done with FF VII or FF in general.
@Fighting_Game_Loser "I just hope Sony is willing to take more risks with smaller titles again"
In order for Sony to put more risk behind small games, first, these games need to sold well at least break even. People need to remember Sony make games for business, not just pure passion project or even charity.
And back in PS3 / PSP era Sony pumped out tons of small-experimental titles like Tokyo Jungle, The Last Guy, Rain, Loco Roco, Patapon, Echochrome, Puppeteer etc etc. Despite the games got good reviews, they didn't sold well.
"More importantly, hereβs the part I really struggle to understand: if you donβt want a PS6 at launch, then youβre not obligated to buy one"
Yes we're not obligated to buy one at launch. But even if we didn't buy it at launch, looking at a new console who launch with $400-500 price tag is a lot more compelling compare to looking at $700 price tag.
I mean, which one do you prefer; spending $700 just for the console or $700 for the console + a couple of games + additional controller?
With this economy, saving $700 only for a console alone is really tough. I'm sure Sony wants PS6 to be affordable to many people so they also can spend money on buying games. Remember, games is Sony biggest revenue not the hardware.
@tameshiyaku "I just finished MGS Delta and the gameplay hasn't aged like fine wine"
MGS 3 gameplay is still amazing and age well. The biggest problem with Delta is Konami believe it's a good idea to add modern control scheme and mechanic from MGS V but didn't update the enemies AI as well level design to fit with those changes. The result was a mismatch as if the gameplay doesn't age well. It's like trying to mix water and oil. It just doesn't work.
Konami / Virtuos doesn't understand MGS V AI and level design are much smarter and bigger than MGS 3. Hence why Snake has more movement and gameplay freedom to tackle those changes.
@get2sammyb "I challenge you to dig out your crusty old PS4 and spend one full week with creaky 30fps games and glacial loading times."
Try PS3. I'm still playing my PS3 slim and Vita. I'm also saving money to get og PS2 + bunch of games. So yes, i can live with 30 fps games and juggernaut loading times.
I don't see the urgent of PS6 needs to coming out next year though. In fact, i think it's the right choice for Sony to delayed it while waiting for RAM price become normal. If they release it next year with what, $600-700 price tag? that would be a big blow for PS6 sales.
@somnambulance I also prefer Castlevania. With Lords of Shadow as one of my favorite Castlevania game, a similar big budget + polished Castlevania game and by Sony studio would blow my mind.

It looks quite interesting but the South Town is just a 2D map compare to a semi-open world Metro City.

Re: Despite Big Multiformat Push, Square Enix's Acclaimed New Visual Novel Will Skip PS5
Re: Despite Big Multiformat Push, Square Enix's Acclaimed New Visual Novel Will Skip PS5
Re: Marathon's Collector's Edition May Have the Best Packaging We've Ever Seen
Yeah that looks cool especially the lenticular. But $229 without a physical copy / steelbook?
Re: PS5's Retro God of War Game Gets the Worst Reviews in the Series
@Fighting_Game_Loser "I just hope Sony is willing to take more risks with smaller titles again"
In order for Sony to put more risk behind small games, first, these games need to sold well at least break even. People need to remember Sony make games for business, not just pure passion project or even charity.
And back in PS3 / PSP era Sony pumped out tons of small-experimental titles like Tokyo Jungle, The Last Guy, Rain, Loco Roco, Patapon, Echochrome, Puppeteer etc etc. Despite the games got good reviews, they didn't sold well.
Re: PS5's Retro God of War Game Gets the Worst Reviews in the Series
69 at metacritic by no any means it's a bad game. There's plenty of good games with that average score. Some examples:
I would reccomend all of them but eh i guess people only see games with 90+ scores are the only ones that worth to play. Oh well π€·ββοΈ
Re: Opinion: The Euphoric Reaction to PS6's Rumoured Delay Really Confuses Me
"More importantly, hereβs the part I really struggle to understand: if you donβt want a PS6 at launch, then youβre not obligated to buy one"
Re: Poll: Should God of War Trilogy Remake Adopt the Gameplay Style of Ragnarok?
Re: Poll: Should God of War Trilogy Remake Adopt the Gameplay Style of Ragnarok?
Gameplay should stick to the old to differentiate the greek and norse saga.
And i enjoyed both gameplay. I think they has their own charm.
Re: Don't Expect Crimson Desert to Be Easy, PS5 Open Worlder Won't Have Difficulty Options at Launch
Many great games doesn't have difficulty options. Currently playing Vagrant Story and FF X and they doesn't have difficulty options.
Re: Opinion: The Euphoric Reaction to PS6's Rumoured Delay Really Confuses Me
@get2sammyb "I challenge you to dig out your crusty old PS4 and spend one full week with creaky 30fps games and glacial loading times."
Re: God of War Dev's Next Big PS5 Exclusive Plotted for 2027 Release
@somnambulance I also prefer Castlevania. With Lords of Shadow as one of my favorite Castlevania game, a similar big budget + polished Castlevania game and by Sony studio would blow my mind.
