@Can-You-Believe-Sith Plenty of good movies didn't lit up the box office. Children of Men, Blade Runner & 2049, The Shawshank Redemption, Dredd, Scott Pilgrim, The Thing etc etc.

Luckily, i never judge a movie quality based on box office numbers or follows what other people said.

Mickey 17 isn't a sequel to Parasite. It's a completely different movie than Parasite. So to expect Mickey 17 would be similar or better than Parasite is like expecting an apple to taste the same if not better than an orange. It's pretty much unrealistic expectation πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

I'm not yet played the game. But the gameplay idea looks interesting and unique and kinda reminds me of The Swapper which i really enjoyed but not yet finish.

I would vote for Absolum, Sword of the Sea, or Skate Story but i'm not yet played them.

And there's no NG Ragebound and Shinobi choice but i forgot KT and Sega are the publishers.

Also, is Tormented Souls an indie game? I just bought the 1st one from January Sale and so far i'm really enjoyed it. It looks and plays like classic survival horror, a mixed of old RE & SH but it also has it's own twist.

QTE in turn based has been done before with Paper Mario / Mario & Luigi, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy limit breaks, Shadow Hearts, The Lost Odyssey, The Last Remnant, etc.

None of E33 combat is new. Heck, JRPG's from decades ago has better / advance combat than E33.

@PerpetualBoredom The awards or how Sandfall lies aren't the main concern for me. But how developers are relying more and more on AI from fixing texture to doing artworks is really worrying. They are sacrificing their creativity, skill, and learning process in exchange for faster development process.

For me, video games is a work of art born from creative people and their hardworks. But if devs just let AI do their jobs then that's not work of art anymore but it's just a product born from lazyness. I might buy and have fun with it but there's no need to admire or respect it.

I'm surprised this one got a video game adaptation. I'm not yet watch the anime but I've read the manga until chapter 20's and i feel the story and characters are not that interesting.

And the action panels along with the art looks too chaotic and confusing, makes it quite hard to follow. I admit the graffiti design looks cool though.

But this is probably just me since i've read tons of shonen manga and feel this and some recent titles didn't really hook me.

@MichaelNau @MrPeanutbutterz Just an update. Sadly the new Battle Hud setting can't be unlocked with Drive Tickets but you got SimSim Battle Hud for free.

The rest, if you want to unlocked SF II, Alpha, III, IV, or V Battle Hud, you need 250 Fighters Coin. So, you need 1250 Fighters Coin if you want all of them.

Some good news, the New Challenger images are free but you need to grab them if you login right now.

@themightyant He actually did. He was credited as creative director and producer. He wasn't fully involved compare to GoW 2018 though. And i believe Santa Monica doesn't have two teams so they can't work on two different projects in the same time. They even got helped from Bluepoint to finish Ragnarok and Valhalla DLC.

Well, ND is working on Intergalactic, Housemarque with Saros, teamLFG with a new IP, 4:Loops with Bad Robot Games, and Santa Monica / Cory Barlog working on a new IP.

There's also the new studio called Dark Outlaw Games? Led by Jason Blundell and ex-Deviation / COD devs who's making a new IP.

And we got multiple new IP's from Hero Projects with Loulan: The Cursed Sand looks stand out among the others.

I think Sony already done enough when comes to securing new IP's. The only thing to do is to wait these devs to finish their works and see if the games worth the wait.

This. I think this is gonna happen either next year or next gen.

Sony wasted a lot of PS5 units by region locked it to Japan who doesn't care about Playstation anymore, when they can sell those PS5 to bigger market like China, Korea, or even US and EU.

I hope Nishino get the memo that Japan home console market is pretty much done. It's shrinking every year and it doesn't matter if you release good games that cater to their taste, a price cut, ads with cute idols, or whatever. The majority of Japanese just doesn't want to buy Playstation console anymore.

You forgot it's very easy for Nintendo to subsidized smaller games when they owned a fricking Pokemon and Mario. Both IP can easily sold tons of copies and generate a lot of profits year in-year out and not just from games but also from toys, merchandise, etc.

Meanwhile Sony doesn't have IP near Pokemon and Mario level of popularity. So no, they can't do it in a "Nintendo way".

Also. You forgot the small games from Japan Studio that doesn't sold well in Japan. Even Astro Bot, probably the most Nintendo-like game produced by Sony in the last 5 years that fit with Japanese taste, only sold 12K copies in the 1st week.

Many times that theory is not in line with reality.

For example; small budget game like Hollow Knight was in development for 3 years. I don't know if Team Cherry got good profit from the game but do you think they pumped out more games and faster devs time since that? No. They only developed Silksong and it was in development for 7 years, far longer than the 1st game.

Or Axiom Verge was in development for 5 years. Vanillaware Unicorn Overlord was 10 years in development. Cuphead was 5 years in development.

Or Astro Bot. Despite it's a smaller budget game developed in 3 years and worldwide it sold quite well, i don't think it generates better profits than AAA games like GoW Ragnarok, Ghost of Yotei, or Spiderman 2 nor it leads to more games either.

I can go on and on with example of small budget games, the good ones btw, that doesn't really fit with the theory.

Unless, you're talking about cheap mobile slops like the infinite run, candy crush clones, or whatever free / cheap slops you can found on google playstore then yeah those are small games with small timeframes that leads to more games and maybe better profits. But i don't want Sony to go down that path, just generates cheap mobile slop after slop, just to cater to Japanese market.

From this, I hope Nishino learn a lesson and used their resource elsewhere instead of wasting it for a market that doesn't care about Playstation anymore.

@sanderson72 Japan never give a damn about Japan Studio in the first place. From Astro Bot, Puppeteer, Forbidden Siren, Gravity Rush, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, Ape Escape, Patapon, Loco Roco, etc all doesn't sold well in Japan.

@Max_the_German Considering ND hired a good amount of new blood from artist, programmers, to Q&A who never work for TloU or Uncharted, i can see their new blood got some new inspiration / experience after worked with the remasters.

And i'm sure they've done some new experimentation while working on Intergalactic. I mean, it's a new IP where ND created the assets from zero instead of reusing from TloU and Uncharted.

In the end, we can only wait and see while keep our minds open instead of prematurely judging as if the game is a failure...

@Max_the_German Yes Jimbo made a big mistake which Nishino already fixed by putting back ND as single player studio.

But just like Shuhei said, either you like it or not, these remaster and remakes can generated extra revenue that can help funding a new project as well attracting new audiences.

And you said no one asked for TloU remastered / remake? Last time i check, Part 1 remastered sold 18 million copies, Part 1 remake sold around 2-3 million copies, and Part 2 remastered was in the top 10 in UK / US multiple times during launch and season 2 air.

The total revenue from TloU remastered and remakes & Uncharted remastered could covered the money lost from Faction cancellation as well help funding Intergalactic and one unannounced project.

Looks like the award has a good amount of winners variety based on the fans votes. And if Intergalactic turns out as a very good game and the majority of PS fans voted it to win multiple category then i don't see the problem with that. The same can be said for next year Saros, Wolverine, Tokon, RE 9, Onimusha, GTA 6 etc.

@AdamNovice I never see Jason talk / write article about crunch in Japan, China, or Asia. Either he's actually doesn't care with the topic or he thinks crunch in ND is more worth it to talk / write than what's happening in Japan and China / Asia.

Nonetheless i never like the guy since his Kotaku days where he acted so disrespectful towards Vanillaware / George Kamitani.

That's called "face mocap" and it isn't "next level of laziness" considering many devs has been using this tech for decades. Capcom for example has been using face mocap / actors likeness since PS2 era with games like Onimusha and Glass Rose. Their recent RE games also used face mocap.
